Great video. Thanks for sharing. Just a suggestion, move all the ceramic rings media to the third tray and in the fourth tray either make a couple of bcb bags as taught by Dr Kevin Novak or alternatively fill the third & fourth tray with bio-home ultimate media from pondguru. This will create some anoxic filtration and once this media matures in about 40 to 60 days, it will complete the full nitrogen cycle and start breaking down your nitrates as well. Hope it helps. Beautiful tank. 👏👏👏
At the moment I'm just running my cichlid tank on a JBL e1901 filter, but have purchased two Sunsun 304B should be installing them soon...I plan on one sunsun just to use Bio Media and the other one mixed with filter floss and Bio Media....
I have a 55G heavy load of mbunna chcilids. Tidal 110 sponges and bio media SUNSUN 704B. With 4 trays Pre filter sponge Bio balls under bottom tray Tray 1 coarse med and fine sponge Tray 2 polishing pad poly fill and bags of activated carbon Tray 3. LARVA ROCK TRAY 4 seachem Matrix pumice Run Uv once every few weeks for a day Water changes bi weekly
Nice! Mine is still up and running. I just done use the light on it since I’ve read they degrade the media baskets over time. I only have bio media in it since I use my FX6 for chemical- bio- mechanical filtration.
Thoes ceramic rings are usless there smooth you want them to be rough and thoes 2nd rings look much better then bio rings put the gloss ontop of the course pad
I just bought a Samsung 404b canister filter but no o ring come with the canister for the uv light and water is getting the light and it's not turning on I don't know if it's set up right like I said there's no o ring came for light
@@YouHeckinBetcha yeah it's running strong strange to me as well I just don't know if that's supposed to happen water get into UV light when I turn it on it won't come on when I put the glass cover on the light I kind of hear like a click does pretty tight I just don't know water supposed to get in glass bulb I don't know if that's right like I said it don't even come on either

Correction** Don’t use the light
Is the light bad?
Not bad but do some research on it.
You don’t want it to run 24/7
the rings you put on the bottoms are high quality ones the media you bought won't grow much of anything, you want porous media for bacteria growth
Freshwater tanks for sure! The ones on the bottom are really used as a spacer:)
FLUVAL 407 CANISTER FILTER

Is this filter quiet? I'm about putting one on my 75 in my bedroom and I need it quiet.
It is pretty quiet. Although if it is out in the open it’ll be louder. If you have it inside the stand behind a door it’s definitely pretty quiet.

Roy Stevenson that’s strange. I don’t really run my uv light anyway. Filter is still running strong!

Yah you do not want water getting into that area.
