One of the best 2D golf/roguelite games, super fun time! So happy NL is playing it! By the way, the Card Binder lets you bank cards for future runs! Also, after failing your first run, you get a crucial skill but I guess you'll find that out on your own. Cheers, NL is cursed to golf now! XD
I wonder why the game uses a timing based power gauge if you can just cancel out of it? it seems annoying to have to guess what power will work, see where its going to land, and then just undo and try again over and over?
felt the same way about the tutorial tbh. It makes you play a half hole and then you gotta do it again for real, whats the point. also who needs 15mins of tutorial its just basic golf, aim and shoot lol
Otherwise it’s basically a strategy game which doesn’t seem to be what they’re going for. I think they shouldn’t allow you to back out but that’s probably a little too punishing
It seems like it was made by someone who didn't fully flesh out all of the details/mechanics,same as the tutorial, too long and doesn't cover some of the basic things while over explaining others
@@justinsaunders110 Their point is that you can effectively set the exact power you want anyway, it just wastes more of your time if you initially get the input wrong. This seems like the worst of both worlds, it's needlessly fiddly for people that want to just take the shot they know they're trying to get but not consequential enough for people that want their inputs to matter. Maybe they could fix it by adding another currency like "focus" or something that gets spent when you want to undo a thing and starts at like 25 or something per hole, so you can functionally retry as much as you need if you're usually pretty close to nailing the timing anyway but if you try to really abuse the undo system then you'll eventually be forced to just commit to bad shots later in the hole.
I didn´t even know you could cancel shots. It makes way more sense for a roguelike game to have a punishing result if you mess up your shot. Seems like the creators want it to be more accessible. Last update they also slowed downed the gauge and made it possible to zoom out more.

Then NL asked the same and I had a "potential" answer directly pop up in my head. It's probably easier to just yeet it. Using a "worse" club is probably more consistent then regulating your own strength. It's probably not as easy to use just enough oomph in a shot
Plus if you need to toss the ball upward, it's pretty hard to do that with how the driver's surface is angled. That's why the wedge is made differently.

I really hope you at least finish this run on next week's stream. I just cleared hole 18 on my second run (spin is OP) and it didn't take too long all together!
