you should check out targets near you they are doing hard clearance on all there games i just got spirit island for 8.00 most there games are 90 percent off rite now.
Kutná Hora is my current favourite game too. I demoed the prototype at UK Games Expo where we had a script for setup and the first few card plays to get people playing (no rules teach). I found the game fascinating as we let go of the reins and watched divergent outcomes develop during the show.
I put the game on my to-buy list and haven't regretted it thus far (12 plays in).
(Oh you silly Americans and your "dollars" in medieval Europe 😂).

Love this vid. Thanks for sharing your favs! I am super into Sabika right now. I don't recall hearing great things about it, but man, I can't stop playing this solo. It's so much fun. Trying to maximize your actions every turn. Trying to hold on to money. Balancing which action to do before another. It's SO good!
My wife and I have been getting really into Distilled. Love the “push your luck” nature of it and it’s super satisfying to complete a recipe. Perfect as a two player game.
I recently bought the big box of Lorenzo il Magnifico and after 2 plays I keep wanting to play it over and over. It just resonates so well with what I like!

We just got Ark Nova last week. It's ruined our sleep schedule keeping us up for ~2 plays a night. I ordered the expansion right away. Super obessed. I don't sleep with it.

great vid. I share the love for Kutna Hora and glad to see it getting the love it deserves. the economy aspect is so great and makes it stand out among my collection. and the art and theme only add to the spectacular mechanics. 9+/10

Your Kanban EV is my Carnegie. I rarely play it but it's been on my mind constantly for the last two years. I am so looking forward to CoC. Love the game on BGA but really looking forward to getting the physical copy. Hopefully they get the Kickstarter open soon.
John Company is living in my head right now. I just love the negotiation implementation, where anyone can make offers whenever but the office-holder ultimately makes the decision. Really fun experience, even acknowledging the problematic theme.

Romi Rami is so good. Just a simple game but so well produced and classic feel to it. Perfect for families or to play with grandparents. We’re super into Scout right now also. Wondering if we should nab Velomino or too similar to Scout.
The White Castle is such a tight design. Tons of variability too

Solid list, for sure. Nice to see it isn't just filled with the latest hotness. For me, I'm presently obsessed with the new Shipwrights of the North Sea Redux, Dune: Imperium (largely because I grabbed the digital version over the holidays), Darwin's Journey, and, as always, Castles of Burgundy!
Tiny Towns for myself. I dont know what it is but that 4x4 grid going from i can do anything to, oh no what did i do. Is so satisfying to me.
We love The White Castle and have laughed a bunch playing Velonimo. Currently obsessed with Knarr!

@@suzanne202 it is : / , I actually had to order it from zatu game from the UK , during Black Friday they had it heavily discounted to where even with the 25$ shipping, it was cheaper than buying on any american based retailer's website, buy it is on BGA, it's not a hard game to learn :)
You can buy it direct from the publisher on their website. They are Kayenta games. That’s how we bought it
Clans of Caledonia will forever be in my Top 3. Im hyped for the expansion in the works, which is available on Tabletop Simulator or available to print and play on their website.
My group always plays Res Arcana (all expansions) as our first game then move on to others. To keep setup quick but while reducing a bad setup, we deal 10 and discard 2.
WOW! Mike, glad to hear you are liking Res Arcana! I know you weren't so interested before. No one except me really likes it in my small game group, so sadly, I don't get to play much 😢. We recently bought Grand Austria Hotel due to watching you and Nick. We actually brought it with us to a hotel and played it. We also played Beer and Bread at a brewery on that same little trip. It's funny how every review i saw when Kutná Hora came out was pretty middling, but I think it's starting to grow on a lot of people.

We've been loving The White Castle and The Red Cathedral recently. I know people like to choose one or the other, but both are fun because they're different. And elegant (in the 1+1=3 sense). And beautiful.
These kinds of lists make me wonder how many games out there are absolutely incredible but relatively unknown and obscure. If anyone has any big recommendations for great underrepresented games that are good for two players, I'm all ears. 3+ difficulty.
Wingspan w/any expansions and Wingspan Asia, Cartographers, Castle of Burgundy, and Dominion (thanks to the recent apps I purchased for some of these, I get to play them a lot more); Heat: Pedal to the Metal, Quacks of Quedlingburg, Scythe, Lost Ruins of Arnak, and Spirit Island are all what I want to play all the time right now.
FYI, y'all spelled the title for the last game incorrectly on the banner. I tried to search it with no success until I looked closer at the box's cover. Great video though 🤙
I'm very much enjoying Kutna Hora as well, and it does feel different to other games I have (and indeed others I've played). This despite elements feeling rather abstracted such as the mine, symbol matching in the city and cathedral. The gameplay does however seem to hang together really well, with the cardboard calculator and dual use player's cards holding it all together.

My brain isn’t big enough to handle that many games. I’m usually focused on a Euro, but right now I have 2 cons coming up and I’m gathering filler games. I bought a few and I’m previewing them with my gaming group.

Space Station Phoenix is one that whenever I see it talked about, I always think I'd like a chance to play it.
Forest Shuffle would probably break my OCD brain, but I really want to play it.
Kunta Hora looks amazing. I think I'd suck at it, but I'd give it a go if I had the chance.

Cool! I’ve heard of all of these except your number one) and played The White Castle and Clans of Caledonia.
Here are my current flames!
🔟 CRUSADERS: THY WILL BE DONE - Theme’s kinda weird, but it’s a great simple action selection game.
9️⃣ AGE OF INNOVATION - We’ve cooled over our initial obsession but this game is still so good. Reinvigorates the franchise.
8️⃣ HASPELKNECHT - Neat variation on the auctioning. Delightfully dry Euro.
7️⃣ CAYLUS - Just got this in a math trade. Super old and dated but we had so much fun we were laughing the whole time!
6️⃣ THE WHITE CASTLE - Crossover! This is a very solid game and I’m excited to try it again!
5️⃣ DELTA - A huge hit with a few of my game groups last year. Easy to get to the table and really simple to learn, but with thinky gameplay!
4️⃣ BLACK ANGEL - Played again tonight. So good!
3️⃣ REVIVE - Just payed my first game of it and I’m so intrigued! Salivating at trying more!
2️⃣ NUCLEUM - So much going on but brilliantly integrated. We discover a new rule we missed every time we play it 😄 but it’s great!
1️⃣ VOIDFALL - Given the look and description, I thought I’d hate this because it looks mean or like a lot of boring combat, but it’s actually a super thinky Euro that happens to have zero-luck space conflict. Super interesting and I’m keen to replay!

I played Kutná Hora three times, and it grew on me and my group’s appreciation a lot!
It probably is my number one 🔥 game right now!
Kanban EV is so good I would play it right now. I traded it away because Coffee Traders is basically the only heavy game I ever want to play for the rest of time, but Kanban EV is dang good. Res Arcana is the only game I've sleeved and that was necessary it is played so often. We have nicknames for basically every card at this point.
18Korea and Kinfire Delve are on my mind.

thank you brothers for the awesome content! speaking about clans of Caledonia, the designer published last year that they were going to come out with a Kickstarter of a redesigned version of this game at the end of 2023 and it did not happen :c, do you guys have any insider information as to whether this will come to Kickstarter this year?

My wife and I have enjoyed it at 2 players for years. It also helps with playtime, it's also great with more players, but it does add to the game time.
10000% we play almost exclusively at 2 player and love it
My group has been playing Moonrakers every single chance. 3x a game day. Deck builder that you need to check out if you haven't.

At the moment i am obsessed with a game from1987. CHAINSAW WARRIOR. A brutal, fast paced merciless game like a ego shooter.

so its safe to say Kanban EV is better than Weather Machine in your opinion? I was wondering if the set up for Kanban is longer than for weather machine.
The set ups for both have definitely a few steps but we find Kanban not so bad to set up (for a big euro game) and we definitely prefer it over weather machine

No we don’t see them as particularly similar other than the 6 card market. Point salad is set collection and here you are collecting and spending cards to complete contracts with the suit preference and stuff. Both great games though!!

Kutna Hora is such a good game....WTF dice tower? The game that I'm obsessed with right now is Cyberpunk 2077. I was not expecting it to be that good, and it is. It's Root for people who don't like Root with a ton of different modules. It got review bombed on BBG, so pay attention to the recent reviews.
