I think a lot of trails are like that. You start to learn bits you can double and lines you initially didn't notice. Never heard of a rail 9 is that some exotic mountain bike? Only kidding that's a great bike or so everyone I ride with tells me.😉
Love that you cover these sorts of trails Lance! I'm definitely a more downhill oriented rider too, but I'm now itching to head up to Auckland with the XC rig to check this new loop out.
Another great vid, ive been following you for over a year now, and it's great to see your enthusiasm dosnt change no matter what track you ride, you can tell your an ex professional stunt rider 😉 😀 👍 😄
Your winter weather is more like half of our summer weather. The other half is nice 23-27 C and dry - if we are lucky. Our winter has mostly snow and ice and mud... I wish we had trails like that in my local area, looking really nice. Kudos to the builders.
Down in Chch the majority of the tracks are closed due to storm in the week but the crew still met this morning. Just an uphill slog to the never-tiring view of Lyttelton Harbour then a cruise down the 4x4 to the cafe. Bottle Lake forest has similar ground conditions to Woodhill but almost zero elevation else we'd all be in there.
Really great video lance. Great pacing and loved the interesting info about the soil/carpet. Would love to see a video of you clearing the 2 big drops on 'Not 4 Granny'. Haven't got the balls to do it yet.
Love it Lance “all the fun bits taken out” ha ha ha. Appreciate the extra info on the Trail Forks series, makes it more interesting. Perhaps do a series of visits to places for a relaxed ride with info on the landmarks, history and geology. What about a long distance test for bike and rider? As always, I love waking up to the Saturday morning video drop (UK)
Not sure about your subscribers, a bit of 8000 of them and I didn't hear one of them stick up for you when you said your wife was cleverer than you. Another great vid, and hey the content you are producing even with the weather is still pretty darn good
I like the Leatt pants. These ones are a little water resistant but in heavy rain I think you will get wet legs. They do make other ones out of more water proof material I think. The long pants seem to have taken off this year. I see even a lot of the EWS racers are wearing them now.
Big thumbs up
You are brilliant mate.
Yeah! I'm an old codger too! Love the way mountain biking makes us feel younger eh? Great video. Can't wait to see what you get up to next time🤙
It does make me feel young especially the e bike. I just think I must be very fit.
Love the new track... for those that don't train regularly, I don't recommend leaving it for "on the way back" 😀
It is a descent loop with some climbing if you are getting tired.
Have ridden it a few times now, great fun on my rail 9. The more you get to know it more fun it is.

Surprised you were not wearing your full XC attire. Great video as always.
They were in the wash.😁
Love the trail. Great video Lance and a great ramble. Keep up the good work
Was a bit of a ramble.😁

Enter the Whaka event and the Higlander in rotorua mate 🙂 They have E-bike categories
I may just do that. XC racing on e bikes is a lot of fun.

Well I do my own stunts but not sure about the professional bit.🤣

I shouldn't really complain as we ride all the year round and these tracks drain so well they are better in winter. Where are you from?
@@bestdayevermtb2 I'm from Finland mate.
I really enjoy E-xc. Great to see. It's not all about dh...
Awesome video, liked the extra info. Can do more of these! 🤘🏼👍🏻

Must admit never ridden in Christchurch but would love to do a road trip at some stage

I must admit I don't like the drop on not for granny. Not big but can be quite a big g out.at the bottom.
EXC 😚 Back To The future was my favourite trail there, it's perfectly good UA-cam content
Glad you approve. Actually xc on the ebb is great as up is as fun as down.
Nice vid, the tracks up there look so nice and loamy in winter, down here it seems to be just slop
Woodhill is great in the wet. Pretty much the only place to ride at the moment.

Glad you like the video although I don't think I am as clever as you imagine.😁
@@bestdayevermtb2 🤣😂 just read it off of autocue… or hand written scribble on an old bit of cardboard.

Everyone who knows me knows my wife is the smart one.

Togs togs undies into here's a tip. It is on the other side of the road.
@@bestdayevermtb2 oh ok thanks Lance..
Another great vid Lance 👍
How do you find the Leatt pants?
Are they water resistant?

Thanks Lance 👍
Give us a heads up if you're planning on coming to Canterbury 😆
@@johnmckendry9718 one day I plan to do a NZ road trip and hope to meet up with viewers as I go.
Hey Lance,
Next time you come to Rotorua am I allowed to go riding with you and with the MTB Karnaje crew
What is MTB carnaje?
It's a local Rotorua MTB UA-cam channel that Casey Atkinson and Flynn Dams created
Or my UA-cam channel is Tommy boy MTB
@@fishernz10 good stuff. I subscribed so I can check out more of your content.

At 3 3/4 into a 4 1/2 hr race if you haven’t trained for it not really, however it’s an achievement in a whole pack
