Thank you for your insight. Very useful and a proper comparison.

The vegan lost. more weight, not just fat, but muscle as well. The omnivore group actually gained muscle mass, which is heavier than fat.

So much data to go over, did you address the false emissions data noted during the documentary? Episode 2. They noted agriculture as producing more emissions than global transportation. Absurdly false, nearly comical.

There were a lot of ruminants in the past with no global warming due to their methane emissions (which were just part of the carbon cycle). The present climate change began with the industrial revolution and is caused by carbon from fossil fuels use. If someone tells you that ruminants cause the global warming he is a liar. In fact crop cultures are far less sustainable than raising cattle on pastures because modern cultures deplete soils extremely fast when pastures are carbon sinks.

Weigh ;-) to go Olivier. It is so hard to control variables in dietary intervention. What is 8 weeks if intervention in a lifetime. Another possible why they consumed less cals in the vegan group could have been from volume of food with lower energy density lead to early satiety.

Our body is smarter than you think and can perfectly makes the difference between a food dense in nutrients and a food containing mostly water and indigestible fibers. Studies has been done on rodent given a food gradually diluted in water. The more diluted was the food the larger was the meal to compensate the lower density.
