  • I arrived early for a shoot , so I decided to check out Ramla Market. It was busy but calm at the same time. Beautiful produce, beautiful people. This is Israel! 🇮🇱
Thanks for helping me pass the time, it was fun chatting with you! 🤓 - Meorah

Ramla was the main Arab city during their invasion in 600 CE. The city is mixed. It has a very nice Canyon (Mall) which is connected to the Tachanat Ha Merkazi. One of the Chayalim that saved my life in Sbarros 8/9/2001 was from Ramla. I was not familiar with the shuk, but not surprised. It is an example of Arab and Jewish Israelis working together. It used to be that if you were traveling by bus from Ashkelan to Yerushalayim, you would need to switch buses in Ramla. I enjoy watching your shows. I have experience with conversions, and we are making aliya with the next NBN group flight so I am learning things about what an Anglo Olim will need to expect.

Cool, thanks for sharing that! I thought it was a beautiful example of Jews and Arabs blending in naturally together. I wish more of the world would see that…just the fact that I happened to come upon it, not staged for hasbara, just real life in Israel. ❤️

Toda Raba for bringing us to Ramla Market! I am a Korean Canadian and I lived in South Korea for work for seven years and it was not a positive experience at all. After returning back to Canada I completely distanced myself from anything Korean. My parents, siblings, and all of my extended family are christian. My parents are straight up anti-semitic and are hostile to my conversion to Orthodox Judaism. You are very fortunate to have the support from your family.

Ay, I’m so sorry to hear that! Both your negative experience in Korea and also with your family. I hope neither keeps you distanced for long. Remember that we’re not just Jews but Korean Jews for a reason. ❤️

Are they antisemitic or just having a difficult time with your converting? Your conversion is likely a shocking experience for them. I recommend trying to maintain a relationship of some kind with them so they will know that they are not losing you even though you will be different from them religiously. As a BT, I had a similar situation with my non religious family.

Yom Ha'atzmaut is the best day ever!
You must try harder next Yom Ha'atzmaut for your own sake, don't miss out! There are public celebrations (usually in the eve) in every city, that city hall is responsible to organize. You can check these out. Even going to the parks in the day of Yom Ha'atzmaut is fun, people celebrate outside.
I also love watching some Yom Ha'atzmaut traditions like the national Tekes (it's broadcasted on television channels) and the annual Bible contest for teens.
It must be more difficult to get into certain holidays without a social group of some kind. So I don't blame you. But in Yom Ha'atzmaut it feels like everyone is celebrating together, out in the streets and parks.

Thanks! I feel next year will be different, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the feeling and the knowing that it was Yom HaAtzmaut. 😊

It's everything wrong with modern day judaism,
Replaced Torah with Zohar and mysticism

Are you considering commiting learning at a women's Torah institute, such as Matan or Aish Hatorah for women full time / part-time for a year, if feasible?

I like to drop into different classes and get a wide range of POVs. I’ve been busier lately so not participating as much but going to shiurim is a nice way to be around different people as well. I like to learn via UA-cam, unrestricted and able to listen to men’s classes as well. I haven’t really done any women’s only things but got tapped into a women’s Chassidut program I’ll try here soon.
