      They are easy to work on. That one ran 73bhp after injection cam swap. stiffer front springs zx6r rear shock, rear sets, home made rear subframe and that was about it. I sold it and now have a CB500 for the track which I'm building at the moment, they are a bundle of fun. I run an aprilia shiver on the road.

    I have an sv650 as my first bike. I’ve rode dirt bikes growing up and had a 2002 yz426f. I’m about 5’5”- 5’6” and 120 lbs. can’t fucking wait for my first track day. I’ve only been riding my bike. Can not wait to scratch that itch.

    nice ride mate just got my self a track ready sv few questions what end can are you using? baffle in or out? and did you feel the need for a steering dampener? just trying to get a prior idea thats all thanks

    • @lawmand
      @lawmand  8 років тому +1

      Thanks, when I read a stubby can it needed a baffle, the can was well packed. It was still too loud for "quieter" tracks. I now have a full length oval can (a cheap delkekic) and it passes at 97db without baffle, it's amazing how much difference the extra 6" or so in length makes. I don't run a steering damper on my curvy, it's rock steady. Most of the lads who race don't use them either so I would say don't bother. Good luck and enjoy, they really can surprise, these little SV's.

    Hi lawmand just done a couple of track days at Cadwell on curvy sv ,was wondering what gearing you running

    • @lawmand
      @lawmand  5 років тому

      I'm pretty sure it was stock, I remember that bike had chain conversion and slimmer sprockets than a road bike. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, it was a few years ago. The best mod was swapping the cams and getting it correctly fuelled....ignore a lot of the jetting settings you see on forums, get a pro with a Dyno to do it if you ever go that route. That bike made 73 bhp.

  • @Someflyingdude

    What year sv650? I'm looking to pickup a local used one to use mainly for the tracks. Excellent riding, thanks for sharing.

    • @lawmand
      @lawmand  6 років тому

      That bike was a 2000 with the "curvy " frame, later models had a more angular frame. They are all about the same to be honest, so as a track bike any are ok.

    Nice! ✊🏻
    What did you modify on the bike?

    • @lawmand
      @lawmand  6 років тому

      Ákos Szemes zx6r rear shock, heavier front springs and oil, gold emulators. Injection cams, shorai battery next to front cylinder, home made alloy subframe, fireplace race seat, race rearsets. I think that's about it. Great bike.
