With a sengoku period building and surrounded by tall trees, this land is beautiful and worth preserving. I'm looking forward to these videos, and you must be excited to film the whole process.
Я бы сказала наоборот: очень приятно, что не только японцы ценят старину. Потому что именно японцы как раз ее и ценят! Откуда ваби-саби появилось бы, если бы было иначе .
How wonderful this place will be preserved and hopefully this will bring awareness to those who want to tare down these older structures and build new the value and beauty of the old historical structures. This is going to be great seeing the restoration of the garden. I am excited because I know I will be learning so many wonderful things. God bless
I have a very good feeling about this project. The buildings are hundreds of years old so no need to rush: people will enjoy this garden for hundreds more.
Wow--what a marvelous project! It will be so interesting to see how the plan comes together over time. Very happy that this piece of forest land is being preserved. Also, how cool that you're using a drone to give an overview! Your repertoire of video skills is always growing.
The owner should turn this property into a traditional Japanese hotel (Ryōkan)! Many tourist, myself included, would pay to stay in such a location, with a beautiful garden! Looking forward to seeing the end result!
Renewing this property will be so transformational, looking forward to how it will evolve and to see what will remain of the original. Gratitude to you for sharing your experience and this transformation
When you hold the earth in your hand 🌱as you garden such great things are found🦎. What was once two dimensional on paper 🗒becomes three dimensional🏞. What once was only your vision alone The Whole world can now see. Thank you Mr. Meiwa for a glimpse into Mr. Inada’s vision🤔. Though we cannot hold the earth in our hand as he does to manipulate & transform from one something beautiful to something grand it is art none the less. Creation is a glorious experience. I am fascinated by the lens 🎥view of the process.☕️
I have learnt a lot just in this first video. We need to keep some spaces unmodernised to keep the soul of a place. I look forward to following the resurrection of this space. Thank you
🥰 superbe projet. comme toujours, je vais suivre pour me motiver et y triuver des idées pour notre propre jardin en Belgique. Bonne continuation à toute l'équipe et au cameraman...
Interesting seeing the burning of the siding. I'm assuming it helps weather proof by caramelizing the lignin in the wood or something. Less toxic than pressure treated wood.
Nice video! I've used the charring technique in my garden here a few times and love the result, but this year I want to focus on stones, so really interested in seeing things like the "ageing"-technique, the tools etc. Looking forward to the rest of the episodes :)
The tall fence will provide the sense of privacy that will be important to the definition of the garden. The use of such long lasting materials and finishing them so as to appear old is very good. The translation of the "wabi'sabi". or used appearance of a material is better said "weathered" in English. The materials are not "destroyed" rather enhanced by age and use. Not a criticism, but just the use of a word that has a better connotation for this wonderful project. Thanks so much.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing this project develop over time! Wow, in this first episode they spent so much time aging the materials, but I'm sure the final product will be amazing! By the way, in the drone footage, I can see a large collection of stones at one end of the property. Will they be used in this project?
@@JapaneseGardenTV I noticed because I have my own collection of stones, so I know what to look for!😁 Saida San has a very, very nice stone collection!
Where are all the trees? When you fly over the property yours is the only plot with trees on it. Do trees not hold any significance? In North America the properties with trees on them are typically worth more and in agriculture areas they keep a perimeter of trees usually to act as a windbreak for crops. It's so odd to see barren land like that. Thank goodness you are saving the few that are left!
And one more question. I've use propane torch to cure-burn corner stands which holds walls of well house. Stands stays on bricks layed on soil. Will it help to well house stands for longer without rotting? I've thinked about like "burning will close wood pores and kills fungi": am i right?

Well done Mr. Inada. It is good to see someone who cares about their own culture and heritage. The old ways are the best ways.
Thank you so much!😊
I am happy to see that it is not only foreigners who value old farm houses and that the past is being honoured by modern Japaneses.

This is a beautiful sentiment and idea. Protect and treasure the old, and make it enjoyable for the new generations.
Japanese artisanal landscapers take so much pride in heritage preservation. This series will be profoundly enjoyable.

Impressive Project. I have always impressed by the japanese concept of wabi-sabi. I will follow you with pleasure. All the beast!
I will make a video explaining more about wabi-sabi sometime 😊.
Great project, let's do it!

Exciting project, I am eager to see more! Can you tell us what the mixture was that Inada-san painted on the granite? Charcoal and dirt?
That liquid is meant to accelerate oxidation! 😊

I see in English you say "weathered" 😊.

Looking forward to my next video!
No one builds a more beautiful garden than the Japanese. I lived there for 12 years. I would have stayed forever…..
Thanks for Sankaku-Yaki😊
Love it

As usually great job. What is used to stain the stone?
Is there a part2 where the activity around the house continues?

This is a liquid that promotes oxidation.😊
@@JapaneseGardenTV yes, thank you, but what is it?
