- Welcome to Hollydaysatsea and my latest video and my latest cruise cabins to avoid series where I will be looking at various ships and giving my personal recommendations on cruise cabins to avoid for many different reasons and to make your cruise experience even better.
After recently being on board Carnival Celebration, even though it was only for a few hours, I managed to take a look and make recommendations of cruise cabins to avoid. I also make some recommendations of cabins that are in a good location and really good if you are travelling with family and friends too.

I was just on Carnival Celebration last week, and my son and daughter were in cabin 5311 and were directly under the main stage. The bass was so bad until late in the night that the glasses on the shelves were rattling. Went to guest services to try and change cabins, but the ship was fully booked. Guest services told me that they asked the main stage to keep it down! LOL!!!!! Yes, they actually told me that. My daughter ended up sleeping on the fold-out bed in our cabin because she couldn't take it. My husband and I were in 15312 and it was lovely and quiet.
I’m so so sorry your daughter had such a bad experience :-) unbelievable saying to keep the noise down x

Thanks for the helpful information. We went with a cove on the Mardi Gras and loved it. We also did a Havana Cabana. We thought we’d have a problem with privacy on the balcony, but we were surprised how few people were out on theirs during our sailing.

I was on the Celebration last week and had a suite on mid 9 and it was awesome!!

We have a suite midship on deck 9. I was worried it would be noisy. I'm glad to hear that it's a great spot. :D
I wouldn't book any of the suites located on deck 9. They have absolutely ZERO cover overhead and all the balconies above have clear views of those cabin's balconies so they offer no privacy or any shade from the glaring sun all day.

Have the room 6344 on Panorama I think it’s good it’s above Alchemy Bar etc
We love the havana rooms on the Vista class. We would never book one on an excel class. The idea was to have an exclusive area of the aft of the ship with exclusive hot tubs and big pool looking off the back. All you get it a small pool on the side. Not worth the extra costs. We will stay in our regular balcony on the Excel class.
Ive heard the same Matt that Havana rooms were so much better and I’ve seen pictures of the Havana pool on other ships and it’s much bigger! I just think if you want privacy your not gonna get it with the layout x Thanku for your feedback too appreciated x

10409 backs on to a crew area and is noisy at most times, even late at night and very early morning - sounded like they were dragging a metal panel along

Do you have a favourite cruiseline Leo?
I have only Celebrity and Princess. Celebrity was a little bit too laid back for me, but Princess was perfect. I prefer to cruise with a line that has very little children on board. But I will say, that the Carnival Celebration is a very beautiful ship and I wouldn't mind trying it when the kids are in school. I'm looking to book something for 2024, so we'll see what happens.

I think these Havana cabins with outer deck is a joke. At least in my balcony room I have privacy to view the ocean .👍. You have a outer walking deck where everyone passing by can look into your cabin in Havana Areas.👎
i do agree with you, its personal choice , these areas are great for groups travelling together though
I so agree, they are a joke! No privacy, people walking by. I’d rather have my own balcony, privacy, direct view of the water, no one walking by. Not to mention the Havana cabin is not worth what you pay for. This is my opinion.
I agree I hated it it's not worth the money at all a real joke
We are going with family and have 10 rooms in a group. To us it will be like having our own neighborhood :)

Getting a Havana cabin on our honeymoon and I didn’t even think about the privacy part.
Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding and have a wonderful cruise too whatever cabin you book. The privacy aspect is down to personal choice :-)

Thanks for all the information! I have cabin 14498 on hold, I saw on someone's video that this cabin and the one next to it have pullman beds(14492 sqaure interiors) but they are not indicated on carnival's deck plan. Do you by chance know if 14488 also has a pullman? Should I be worried about headspace with the pullman?
Hiya, I am not certain re Pullman beds but there is a sofa bed in your cabin, could this be a double sofa bed. It certainly looks like it :-)

Also tell them to avoid adjoining rooms as you can hear everything they say unless you are needing two rooms then that would be perfect

I know you are right about the cove balconies but I only mention the areas to avoid I am aware of , seen and experienced :-)
Hi and thank you for this information, it was very helpful! I currently have a sailing booked on the Celebration for this coming November. My wife and I chose a Cove Balcony, and the stateroom number is 5356. It is mid ship and not underneath Center Stage but sits under Cherry On Top and Javablue Cafe. Do you think we will experience any noise from above?
Also, I am a little concerned the balcony is a bit awkward and smaller when compared to a regular one. I understand the door opens a certain way that is not convenient when two are sitting out there. Keep in mind we don't plan on spending too much time in it, since the ship has A TON to offer. We were given the option to change our stateroom to 15493 for another $135, which sits under the pool deck. I'm thinking I shouldn't upgrade. Thoughts on all of this?
Thankyou for your comment. When it comes to cabin location and noise element you have to think about how much time you spend in your cabin, what time you go to bed and what time you wake up plus afternoon naps. Eg you don’t want to be above the theatre if you go to bed at 10pm or you don’t want to be under the buffet if you like to sleep in til 10am.
I would definitely not want to be under the pool deck at all. Renowned for being noisy on some ships so stay where you are. Like you say you won’t be in your cabin much and lower down midship you feel less movement too x have a wonderful trip :-)

Thank you for this video! Can you tell me what you think of room 17264? I wanted a midship Cloud 9 Spa Balcony room that is quiet but there weren't many to choose from. This one is somewhat close to the stairs and I can't really tell what is above it. I figured this would be quieter than the rooms across from the elevators but I could be wrong. Thanks in advance.
Hiya, it looks like you have the front of pool above you and cabins below you. I wouldn’t be worried at all staying here and this it will be lovely and quiet

Hi thank you for the info. First time cruiser here. What about room 4217? Is it in a quiet location
Hiya, you just have the treatment rooms above you which normally are fairly quiet above you. The treatment rooms are open during the day and not late at night or early morning when trying to sleep in too :-) most spas open 8am - 8pm
Has anyone stayed in a connecting balcony room? How was it? How are the rooms 11235, 11239, 11249 & 11253?
Hi Jessica, cabins are all in a great location. I would choose 11253 as it’s the nearest to midship . I have stayed in a connecting balcony room on other ships and the interconnecting door is locked. You can sometimes here a little more from their cabin but only slightly.
The chairs on the Havana Cabins are too low! My husband has mobility issues and they had to bring in a higher chair. I don't have that issue and felt like I was sitting on the deck.

Hiya, possibly as you have celebration central not directly above you but above you together with a restaurant. The best way to get rid of any noise element is always to have cabins above and below you ideally.
Any thoughts regarding 1446? I was unable to find any videos on whether it is covered and whats above and below, thanks
Look up Carnival Celebration Deck Plans. You'll be able to see what is on each deck of the ship.
We booked 9295 and now looking at it, it looks like there is an overhang below us and i think folks can stare down at us from above. Will the roof obstruct our view of the ocean?
Yes you are correct you will be looking at the Havana Deck below you so when you look down you will not be able to see the ocean but you will when you look forward as you have a clear view x People will be able to look down onto the front of your balcony yes. If you wish to have more privacy and to see the ocean when you look down you need to be higher up xx deck 11 or 12 maybe mid or mid aft location x

Hello do you have an opinion on cabin 9470?
Hi Anita. I have had a look at the cabin and you have cabins above you which is great, just note that when you are on your balcony and u look down onto a deck, which is deck 8 it is a promenade deck, you are on deck 9 so they don’t walk past your balcony but you can see anyone on the deck below if that makes sense :-)
Any thoughts on 15365 on Celebration? I didn’t realize it was under the lido and wondering should I make a change
Hiya, if it was me personally I would change it but you may find it may be more expensive to change it. This location maybe cheaper than other midship locations because it is under the pool. Speak to your agent and ask them to look at alternative options for you. I hope this helps :-)

they said cabin 9426 can fit 5 people. does it have 5 beds?
Yes the beds will be a combination of either twin:double/sofa beds or Pullman beds
Havana deck patio room, saw them on the Mardi Gras and no thank you! What a bad way to spend your money. Edit: fixed my typo’s, hit one wrong key and spellcheck really messes up the whole thing!
Not for you? :-) I agree they are great for groups but I like my privacy x
@@hollydaysatsea yes both my wife and I say the same as you, no privacy and it seems like half the ship is looking down at you. An expensive way to expose yourself, regular balcony cabin is a better choice I think for most people, or even an ocean view and save a few more coins.

@@hollydaysatsea yes it’s unfortunate that people pay extra, quite a bit extra and lose privacy and permit every stateroom above the Havana deck to look down at you. I wouldn’t take one of these rooms unless I got it for the same price as a deck 2 Oceanview room. I guess there is some truth to the marketing theory of charging more for a product and people will think it’s better because they paid more. “Well it must be better because it’s more expensive!” 😖

You are in a fab cabin , cabins above you so a great location :-)
What do you think about 11419?
I have taken a look at your cabin and 11423 next door maybe a little better only because you are located by the stairs and will have traffic coming by you x this is being really really picky x you won’t hear anyone going up or down the stairs but ideally the cabin next door will be better if available x. Also do you spend much time in your cabin if you don’t then does the location matter too much? X with this cabin if your never in the cabin then stick with it and have a great cruise x

I truly think they are just doing too much bigger isn’t always better.

@@hollydaysatsea to be honest yes did Madi gras for new year’s last year and it was beautiful but just too much. The rooms felt cheated in size and it took us 6 days on a 7 day ship to realize guest services was on the 8th floor towards the back of the ship. After doing a river cruise the larger ships are just overrated in my opinion

@@hollydaysatsea I do…I’ve been doing Viking and I’m so spoiled by them lol. I love the low amount of guest and the sophistication of not having to deal with little people and smokers in areas. The excursions are amazing and to be able to see the beautiful sites and villages/ towns are breathtaking
I agree going on the celebration in March gave a friend that's a constant cruiser he told me the smaller ships are way better and less walking. Because everything is spaced out on the bigger ships.
Is 10399 room ok?
It wouldn’t be my first choice due to it being so near the lift but it’s good that it’s on its own and no neighbours. I still think I’d want to be a bit further away than the lifts .
