I clicked like after the "Hi, I'm Hainbach" bit because I always really like that bit. I really need a second like button to indicate I also liked the rest of the video. Also now I'm looking for guitar pedals in charity shops.
The PS-2 is one of my favorite pedals, the best thing about it is that switching between delay modes doesn't clear the audio buffer and you can get crazy sounds out of it just by plugging in an ambient loop and turning the mode knob
I've watched this video three times already, I absolutely love it (no suprise there)! As with a couple other people in the comments I was absolutely blown away by the EQ sweep on Murf, it sounds like a marching band coming alive! Kind of beside the point, but I had the pleasure to chat with Joel via GAA a couple of months ago and we talked in lenght about lofi as a sound aesthetic. I remember that my heart almost burst when he said something to the effect that we share a mutual understanding on that regard. Chase Bliss is definately worthy of it's name and place as a unsellable crown jewel.
the Boss PS2 has a really interesting sound, when used in manual pitch shifting, with maximum feedbac. Dial pitch "almost" at the unison : you can dial the unison, then offset the pitch just a little. You'll get some awesome waves sounds, the closer to unison you will be, the slower the waves.
Do an additional episode for Bass MuRF please, that would be super mega hyper interesting! Just like the episode with MoogerFooger ring modulator drums, I loved that one so much that I watched the entire thing couple times
Very interesting. I amusing the Yamaha Magicstomp (multi effects) for tape loops, guitar, and keyboard. It has some very good delays and ring modulators.
Hey Dan go for the 1st version, that is what Heinbach is using. It will be cheaper (most likely) because the newer versions of any pedal are generally more expensive on the used market. Good luck!
Hey my dude, I love your videos and music. I wanted to request that you do a little warning for videos that contain high pitched screeches for those of us wearing headphones? I just nearly blew my ears off before getting to the volume knob at 8:17
CB pedals are super complex so I get their price, but honestly I think they're not worth their cost unless you're using it to completely define your sound. And in that case, you're spending 300 bucks for one or two settings. So many of their pedals that I've tried all suffer the same thing, which is that there are more unusable sounds than usable ones. And finding those sounds is a pain in the ass. You spend more time tweaking them than making music with them. That said, they do have some good tones I'm them if you don't mind taking the time to find them and then being content with dropping so much money for the one or two sounds that will actually be pleasing to an audience. Most people don't care about the weird sounds you come up with. They just like what sounds good in the mix.
Hi, can you cover connecting synths with pedals to mixers and such? TS, TRS, mic level, line level, etc., all that stuff and getting a clean sound is tricky! Thanks; great channel!
It's all about skill and experience. Even quite simple pedals can make super epic sounds. I saw chase bliss warped vinyl on Knobs channel, love it's sound. Your mbira reminded me about cool track, Flooting Groves - Mbirations. Only this one episode contains so many good demos and improvisations that you can record a whole new album. Wow!
Ok... I understand the keyboard to pedal path. What is connected after the pedals? Does it go into an amplifier or mixer or what? If the path goes into an amplifier, does it matter what type of amp? Can I use a standard guitar amp?
The Boss PS2 is a real gem, thanks for that and for all these great ambient pedals. I have the Warped Vynl Hi Fi and it is of course an amazing sounding pedal I'm wondering if the original is well more Lo Fi?
Hello Monsieur, thanks for your videos that are so inpiring. I discover this Bass Murf on your video and I'm in total looove. now I want one. but can't find it anywhere. what your thoughs about the Midi Murf? kind regards. PP
Does anyone have a suggestion for a budget version of the Warped Vinyl pedal or a combination of cheaper pedals? I already know for the zvex lofi junky
A lot of electronic musicians incorporate a reverb pedal (or two, or three) into their setup. However, it looks like you've avoided using reverb effects. May I ask, what is your reason/rationale?
I have the original MURF I will give it a go, it seems the Bass MURF may have more features, Or just a different frequency scope Either way, I'm digging out my MURF Great stuff!
Just a quick question - did you plug the Warped Vinyl directly from the Maths output? Using any kind of plug adapter? For using pedals with modular, especially due to the signal, wouldn't it be better (eh? Safer?) to use some sort of an interface? Such as something like the Doepfer Effects Insert (A-138d)? Always terrified of frying my pedals. Incidentally, excellent examples - great demos! Very inspiring!
You don't need an interface with the Warped Vinyl - it takes modular level nicely. I could not even go as hot as I liked, because the Fostex I am using as a mixer was overdriving. Generally, some digital pedals really benefit from an interface, my Strymon Timeline freezes with too hot levels.
I agree the Warped Vinyl MKI is amazing. I unfortunately sold my other Chase Bliss Audio Pedals to help fund some Moogerfooger purchases but I didn’t let the Warped Vinyl go. Would love to try out the Condor as it looks like another winner from CBA. Your eurorack module selection that you used first was especially nice looking Malekko/Wiard designs and Make Noise looks like a killer combo. How do you like the Optomix an the Pressure Points/Brains combo? Both are on my GAS wish list. Also pt 1 made me really want an EHX Frequency Analyzer, it sounded incredible. If it could just be modified to have one or two CV inputs it would be perfection. I love my Moog MF-102 but the Frequency Analyzer seems to have a diverse enough sound to make it worth having both.
Very interesting video. Have you tried the Zoom MS50G? It is a multieffect/gitar simulator in compact pedal format, and it has a ton of very useful effects. I use it on my Make Noise 0-coast, and get a lot of wonderful sounds out of it.
HAINBACH Mad scientist U !! worked on some way out shit . had my stuff stolen three times , because it was so beyond . always loved pushing the envelope . gonna get back into it , it's fun experimenting , never know what you're going to end up with :)
I know "Warped Vinyl" is a wherry complex pedal, but for "normal" use how is it comparable to the "Instant Lo-Fi Junky", and how is yours comparable to the new "Warped Vinyl" ? It sounds like you could make some really beautiful and haunting horror ambient with all of these pedals, as you sort of already show with WV and the Pitch Shifter Delay on the Kalimba, and the Base Murf on the Yamaha and the MarkII. Btw, talking about ambient, the name Base Murf makes me think of "Interstellar", but would be Base Murph then.. : )
I have not tried the Instant Lo-Fi junky, but from what I have heard is that the WV sounds better. I mean both were designed by the same guy,, so it would make sense that for his own company he would go even further.
I clicked like after the "Hi, I'm Hainbach" bit because I always really like that bit. I really need a second like button to indicate I also liked the rest of the video. Also now I'm looking for guitar pedals in charity shops.
Happy hunting!
I clicked after the mbira. No contest :)
dat Moogerfooger + whitenoise sequence is crazyyy
The PS-2 is one of my favorite pedals, the best thing about it is that switching between delay modes doesn't clear the audio buffer and you can get crazy sounds out of it just by plugging in an ambient loop and turning the mode knob
NASA called... they want you to give their rover a tune up. You have some amazing talent for producing unique sounds
Looking forward to Part 3!!!

The moog pedal on the Rhodes was just wonderful
Man, I've just devoured these two videos in one sitting! Very inspirational. You're one of the most likeable guys on youtube. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Editing the next video right after this.
all of your hardware stuff have very vintage sound! that's pretty nice and vibey, thank you!
T’es vidéos me donnent vraiment envie de continuer à expérimenter à lot of Wayne ...thank’s a lot!!!

It also self oscillates when you do this as well. Such a strange little pedal, definitely a mainstay for my Electroacoustic/Free Improv rig.
Hainbach, you're just so lovely. Thank's for all the info and inspiration.
I really like the Moog pedal, don't know why I never heard of it before!
The Bass Murf sounded stellar with the Rhoades 👍👍👍
The Moogfooger Bass MuRF reminds me on my Boss SL-20 Slicer, another cool FX unit to "patternize" audio signals.
The result you got with the Bass murf are amazing! I have to try this.
That Bass Murf sounds amazing with the rhodes, wonderful video!
Hi, nice, my chase bliss mood pedal has become my main effect and now i add a nux duo time which is great especially for ambient
Wow in love with the murf and the pitch delay...
I'd love to see some videos of your filters eq
So cool
Can't wait for the other part
Thank you! Recording part three next week - its getting a little busy as I am playing a few shows in the next weeks.
The BOSS pitch shifter with the Mbira has a gamelan vibe to it
The stuff with the delay is beautifull 8:00
Many of those pitch-shifty plucks sound like videogame/computer sfx, like the stuff you find in old school educative Java applets
Do an additional episode for Bass MuRF please, that would be super mega hyper interesting! Just like the episode with MoogerFooger ring modulator drums, I loved that one so much that I watched the entire thing couple times
I have to try some extra stuff to make it interesting for me to revisit in a full new video, but I will keep it in mind!
I would love to see more about your pedals and how you use them!
Thank you Hain Bach you are a wonderful musician and sharer of knowledge - these videos are invaluable to so many of us
Fascinating as always.
Very interesting. I amusing the Yamaha Magicstomp (multi effects) for tape loops, guitar, and keyboard. It has some very good delays and ring modulators.
Yet another great vid. Looking forward to part 3.
I really need to get a Warped Vinyl.
I have the latest Warped Vynl and I highly recommend getting one. Even the simple chorus or vibrato sounds are stellar. You won't be sorry
Another pedal to add to the ever growing list. ;)
Yeah, its also one of the expensive ones
I'd forgotten about that price... *gulp*

8:08 total lushness just comes out of nowhere
Damn I love Boss PS2 sooo much!!!
I killed my PS-2, I lent it to someone and they put in the wrong power supply. I really miss it, such a great pedal. Best and only good demo for it.
Hey my dude, I love your videos and music. I wanted to request that you do a little warning for videos that contain high pitched screeches for those of us wearing headphones? I just nearly blew my ears off before getting to the volume knob at 8:17
Oh sorry! Noted.
@@Hainbach Thanks man! your music and videos are some of my favs :D
Wonderful. How did u record thumb piano?
Very cool as always! you are the Ambient Soundmiester! Thanks for sharing!
The Warped Vinyl sounds amazing but 350 dollars hot damn.
With how good it sounds it's going on my list either way

10:18 kept expecting Phil Collins to come busting in
Have you done a video of your favorite MIDI reverb pedals?
Did part 3 ever come out? I can't find it!
I love what I am hearing here. Do you have a link to any of your soundtrack work?
Great video!!! Thank you for all the great info!!
I look forward to CT5 pedal in the next series.
Pretty interesting thing. It makes the sound lo-fi, but still has "lo-fi" mode... It's kinda make lo-fi sound even more lo-fi :)
Has the third part, Pedals for Live Shows, been released?
I have not seen or heard an Alesis quadraverb in a long time.

Hello, how could we use the boss ps2 with a vst instruments ? Thanks
I love you Hainbach

I have the Warped Vynl Hi Fi and it is of course an amazing sounding pedal

It could be! I have had no chance to compare the two, but I love the lofi mode on the WV.

Very good, more versatile! I don't know if it sounds the same, though.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a budget version of the Warped Vinyl pedal or a combination of cheaper pedals? I already know for the zvex lofi junky
The noises at 5:18 are very.... Cyriak. His music sounds a lot like that.
I’ve been craving a Warped Vinyl mk11 since I discovered it a month ago.
Hi @heinbach! How did you pass the mbira through the pedal/amplification?
It has a pick up with high output, patch point in berlin made.
@@Hainbach thx!
this is informative thx

I think its just the frequency range, its tuned lower.

I have the MS70CDR and it’s great for budget fx with synths too 👌
what's the name of your tape recorder?
sound factory :)

part 3....?
Yeah, I owe this one. Coming!

So many pedals, so little time ...
That is also why I enjoyed making this video. Quality time with pedals.
I thiught id love the warped vinyl, but honestly not in love.
