.....thank you, sir, for continuing to share your journey!.....the southern portion of the trail is more familiar to me (as it's closer to my home and i've been blessed to hike it many times).....also, this section is close to my heart as well😊..... ...i thought it was super exciting when you "nudged" us around the bend of the river at laurel falls.....because you see....i'm a bit of an "indigenous plant nut"....ha ha!....i always joke that the plants (and pizza) is what kept us moving on up the trail on our '03 thruhike!😜.....so i loved "hiking" with you along the edge of the water there, because it jogged my memory about how MUCH i specifically enjoyed and noted the beautiful, pink "bleeding hearts" growing in the rocks there in that beautiful gorge!...(i think it might have been the first time i had ever seen them growing in the wild!)......and then?...as i watched?....sure enough!.....there they were, noted in your excellent video, as well!.....that really made me smile!....thank you for offering the gift of a sweet trail memory! ....i also wanted to share a physical rendition of another memory i have from that section near 19E.....it's a drawing (which i hope you can see through this link i am posting).....when you stopped in your tracks coming down the hillside and said, "whoa!...look at that tree!", i knew immediately *which* tree!....we took a break there in '03, had lunch, and i inked-in this drawing in the back of my (heh heh, 2 1/2 lb) bible, because my tiny notepad journal wasnt big enough to capture the full view! 😊....(when we hiked again in '06, needless to say i carried an electronic version!....LIGHTER!.....oh well....live and learn, eh?)..... ....anyhooooo😉........it meant so much to me this morning to revisit this old "friend" (tree)........but i also noticed my caption under the picture (which seemed to echo your own thoughts/struggles with how to manage your remaining time on the trail over the next couple of weeks) : "ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life"💛.....i needing reminding of this, too, today! ....i really dont think it would be "too early" to congratulate you on a successful and complete southbound winter traverse of the AT!....soooo......congrats!.....and again.....thanks so much for taking the time to share, when i know you might would just rather "drink in" your last few miles! .....Godspeed!... ........."maw" share.icloud.com/photos/03cnNFUCqW471Bd_7xwklFePg
Hope you enjoyed mountain harbor as much as we did two weeks ago!! Such a lovely place with a great vibe! Can’t wait to see your roan highlands video…we hiked that first week of May and I was so blown away by birds and the wildflowers not to mention the famously epic views. Know spring wouldn’t have been quite so sprung when you went through but looking forward to seeing an early chapter!
Your fascination with certain trees is hilarious to me because I know I do the same thing, lol. They exude such character and life force and they are amazing. (I don't mean to sound "new age" or metaphysical because that is not me, but I do feel the same afinity for giant, sometimes gnarled, old trees.
What a beautiful journey Scott. And thanks for having more videos for us - so we can take the time to taper off hearing about your trek. I will miss these!
A beautiful 3 to go! The flowers are blooming, the baby animals have been born, the trees are full of greens of all color. You can do it, but the views will keep you going.
i know you've already finished but watching these...I'm excited to see you finish and hate for it to be over all at the same time. Love all your videos. Sorry earlier i hit wrong button but i corrected that! Can't wait to see whats next.

I still love the videos! I’m going to be sad when the last one is posted.
I’m from Erwin. Nice town. Hikers have always been welcome.
Rest up and energize body with lots of calories! Loved your video

I'm really enjoying following along with your adventures. Oh and by the way you are really inspiring. I'm planning to hike the AT next year.
I’m really enjoying how you show your journey 🥾🎒 Your pack looks light. What is your average pack weight?
Hey, at least on this section you get to cross TN/NC about fifty times.
It’s a two-video day! [insert ecstatic Kermit emoji here]
