Cody needs a stool, or Brady needs a chair! 😂
You 2 look like the number 01 from dukes of hazard county.
Just got mine in and it’s incredible. Haven’t glassed with it but love the weight and smoothness of everything. Feels quality. Pumped!
Love mine, only complaint I have was noted, the "standardized" arca plates are different sizes. Not only Sirui, but all the others I tried. I ended up cutting off the stop on the lever so I don't have to go through the steps to resize it every time I switch optics.
Hey guys witch sirui pan head am I able to install on a summit carbon 2
You could actually install pretty much any Sirui Pan Head on that tripod. The threads for the summit carbon 2 tripod and most pan heads are 1/4"-20.
@@GOHUNT awesome thank you guys
i really like my va5 head but that 1/2 turn plate tension knob is a pain. They should of moved it forward another inch and then it could do full turns and not be in the conflict with the arm. Otherwise its pretty good
Can this be used with a Leupold SX-5 Santiam HD? I am new to spotting scopes and tripods.
Love you guys. Just have to say how tall is Brady? Or how short is the round dude?
I have this setup and have been using for glassing but I now have a chassis rifle with an integral arca rail. Is this head OK to take the recoil from shooting with it?
This is Brady responding back to you. I’ll say with confidence that this tripod head can 100% handle the recoil of a rifle. I shoot off mine in practice a lot with my 300 Win Mag and 300 RUM with no issues. I have an arca rail on the bottom of my 300 RUM and shoot like that often. The 300 Win Mag I shoot with that tripod head using a rifle clamp-style device. But again, I’ve never had issues shooting off that tripod head. It works great!
If you guys want a cheaper alternative, ulanzi has a fluid head for around $50!
For reference, I have a vortex razor hd spotting 27-60x80
And a vortex razor hd 12x50
It handles both super smooth!
Some more points: it’s smaller (for weight saving) and has good resistance to it. Arcaaaaa swiss compatible too ✔️
Great information. I've been running mine for several years but you guys showed things I never knew,
I just ordered this head on Friday night, great timing!
How would you rank this setup against a Tricer with the LP panhead? Interested to know not only your opinion on straight-up head to head performance but degree of tradeoff considering the major weight savings. Thanks for a great review.
Thank you Brady and Cody for the great informational video. It's great to watch you two, Your both so knowledgeable and youth and old can learn so much from you too
God's Blessings on all your adventures
Thanks, Perry! We appreciate you.
Great tips. You helped me pick one 2 years ago. Game changer with my binos. Thanks for the quality info.
Thanks, Mark!
Always happy to see Cody! Cody is awesome, and so is the VA 5 head! Used it all season for elk and muley helped me locate the mule deer that’s in my freeze!
Cody is awesome!
How does the head hold up to shooting from it? I tried mounting my MDT HNT26 chassis to it and found that the arca wouldn’t open far enough. So I’ll have to take out the sing stud (which I want to anyways) and slide it into the head unit.
What do you think about Burris Eliminator 5 scope
?
Maybe I missed it, what is the tripod in the video?
would you put a fuji xh2 + a 50-140 and let say a nija on that head ?
My Sirui nob to tighten the handle stripped out, so the panning handle came off. Looking into the outdoorsman’s heads. I would also say I would prefer the clamp lock over twist lock legs allowing you to deploy the tripod faster. Just my opinion.
I’ve found clamp locks as a double edge sword, I like how quick they are but hunting in AZ the clamps tend to get dirty and then they are super loud when you’re locking them back down and adjusting legs. So I’ve kinda ruled them out and gone back to the twist locks. Just something to potentially keep in mind, I know some people won’t have that issue depending on were they hunt but it has been with my hunting.
Optics Guru is back 😂
💯
Is this the head that comes in the ST-124 VA-5 CF Tripod Kit, or is this an upgraded one? Thanks!
Same head from what I understand.
An issue I noticed this last season was the head unthreading where the 360 degree marker is and having to the spin my optic to thread it back down. Also issues with it not wanted to release my arca plate. Any suggestions to resolve this?
I also experienced the head unthreading where the 360 degree marker is and having to spin my optic to thread it back down. Aside from annoying it worries me that optic may just fall off one day.
This was a few years ago, but in doing a little research at the time it didn’t seem like I there is a defined ‘spec’ for the Arca cut…like machine to this degree/cut and make it this wide….weird right, so depending on Mfg it can very…Big China, MDT, RSS, Siriu, Manfroto and Aziak all seem to be close, but not the same…all slight variances but this head does a great job of being able to adjust as I can get the standard plate that comes with it to fit in my spotter tight just enough and still allow me to reach the slightly narrower plate on mg Aziak Bino clamp (which my old RSS Bino hand was just too wide for)….now if I try to put mg rifle in there I have to adjust that thing a bit to get it tight. But this setup for glassing works great, fantastic head and thanks for the video guys
How do you like the Aziak Bino clamp? Just picked up some Sig Kilo 6K 10x42's and the Aziak caught my eye.
@@Tyanmax99 I like them a lot, ran it all season and it was great. Both on mg 10s and 15s. Will be grabbing them for my son and dad as well this season. Simple, durable, easy go get in/out of a bino harness as well.
Get that man a stool!!
What tripods are these?
Looks like Sirui ST-124
Pumped to see this! Just more reassurance for my purchase from GOHUNT! Can’t wait for my order to come in!
Awesome to hear!
GoHunt offers this, or at least they did, in a combo with a Sirui tripod and it’s been one of the best purchases I’ve made.
