I used to be OBSESSED with tornadoes and natural disasters as a kid. And I still am today. I never realized how terrifying a tornado truly is. One can be powerful enough to level a whole city. Yet it’s still impressive to look at, yet horrifying.
I’ve been in a tornado and this is the best video on the sound of one I’ve found. It literally teleported me back to that moment when I was 8 years old. I’ve loved tornadoes ever since. Well except the ones that hurt people.. I do love the ones out in the middle of nowhere.
Weirdly enough, the tornado I've experienced sounded nothing like this; sounded more like a distant jet in the sky, or thunder that didn't stop... Hearing that, watching the wind completely flip direction, and the trees snapping in the distance is something else man, so I can't imagine what actually getting struck by one is like! Some scary but fascinating stuff indeed.
It really is a sound you won't forget from my experience. In the distance, it just sounds like blowing wind, and then it sounds like a freight train, and finally, when its close enough to make your ears pop, the sound is almost deafening (comparable to the sound of a jet using its afterburners during a takeoff).
OMG!!! So fascinating and so scary!!!! I have a high interest in tornadoes it truly sounds like a monster has been awoken from hell in some parts of hearing the sound of a twister racing
ya know ive listened to countless Tornado sounds on youtube and heard real ones and this one is the most realistic sound of all the videos on youtube because all the other ones are for sleeping lmao
Hmmm... Yeah, this would sound better through earbuds; the panning effect kinda kills the experience. Still, for a generated sound effect, it is pretty good.
I experienced a similar sound to my apartment getting hit by a recent tornado, but it was more consistent and continuous, lacking the swishing noise. It also didn't fade in and out. But the overall sound in general is what I heard.
Growing up in the UK I've never had to deal with Tornadoes however there was a time when I went to Oaklahoma with my family and an EF2 sweeped passed our hotel
I dunno why but I don't ever hear this freight train sound everyone talks about. This sounded like extremely howly, whipping winds that went from ear to ear which made it appear to be circling around. (Neat in headphones) And I've watched some actual storm footage with sounds and still couldn't hear it. It's frustrating that I don't hear it. But I don't think I hear as many frequencies as some people. Like I can't hear the changing melody in overtone (throat) singing. Well I did once. Sounded like high pitched bell/water glass sounds. But 99% of the time, I don't hear it. So I wonder if that has anything to do with why I don't hear the train sound. If anyone knows, lemme know.
@@Christian-cc3jv Well I'm autistic so I don't catch those types of metaphorical(?) references most of the time. Also, I have auditory processing disorder and constant tinnitus so that really affects how I hear things. But glad to know it wasn't me this time. 😁🧡
the problem is that in video u cant hear it like in real life, its not because you are not able to hear it, its because u can only hear it inside of the tornado :)
