Hi there, thank you for your question! If the drive isn't showing up at all I would recommend taking it to a professional for further assistance as its most likely a physical issue with the drive.
Chicken and Egg: USB is un-recognised and displays no Drive Letter. Just gets rejected and does not display on 'This PC' or in 'Disk Management'. So how do you do it then? All the Tutorials assume you can see a Drive Letter/the USB, which simply issues a Yellow rejection notice near the Tray. A CMD command might work, but again all the 'solutions' assume a Drive Letter is known.
@Muyawa I tried absolutely everything. Combed YT, combed the web, but in the end it seemed clear that without the ability to access the Drive Letter I had ascribed (hidden now, of course) to the flash drive, it was impossible. I have posted Feedback to MS, suggesting they introduce a 'fix' in Control Panel. But meantime, I had to ditch the drive. It was only 8Gb and the data on it was not critical (some Music mp3's). I now believe the corruption occurred when I removed it too promptly from my In Car Player. (I now take more care and switch to the Radio, before removing). Note he says, when discussing 'Recoverit', that you have to choose 'the relevant Drive' (Letter). This skirts the problem. The drive was 'unrecognised' by Control Panel, even after formatting. So his solution is no better than all the others I tried.
Hi there, thank you for your question! first, assign a drive letter if necessary using Disk Management. Then, run the Windows Check Disk utility (chkdsk) with the /f option to repair file system errors. Afterward, recover any crucial data if accessible and proceed to format the flash drive using Windows Explorer, choosing the appropriate file system (NTFS or FAT32). If the drive remains inaccessible, it may have hardware issues. If all else fails you can try using data recovery software such as Recoverit
Hi there, thank you for your question! I would recommend one of the drives that have less space would correspond to your flash drive you can also try unplugging the drive running the test then seeing which drives show up then reconnect the drive and do the test again and then you should be able to tell which drive is the correct drive.
DiskPart has encountered an error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. See the System Event Log for more information. how to fix this error? any suggestions? Thank you for the answer
Hi there, thank you for your question. An "I/O device error" typically indicates that there is a problem with the hardware of your storage device, such as your USB pen drive. This error can be challenging to fix, and it may be a sign that the drive is failing.
What do i do if this shows up when i do the format fs=32 "DiskPart has encountered an error: The request is not supported. See the System Event Log for more information."
Hi there, thank you for your question! Check and repair the disk for errors using the chkdsk command. For example, to check and fix the D: drive, type chkdsk D: /f /r and press Enter. You may need to check the file system of the partition you are trying to format. Some file systems, such as FAT32, have limitations on the size of the partition. To format a large partition, you may need to use a different file system, such as NTFS or exFAT

Hi there, thank you for your question! I recommend you open Command Prompt as Administrator, then use Diskpart to list and select the problematic disk. First, type list disk to identify the drive and then select disk ( your drive letter). If necessary, use the clean command to remove any BitLocker partitions. To format the drive, use format fs=ntfs label=YourDriveLabel quick override to bypass BitLocker encryption. Once done, type exit to close Diskpart.

Hi there, thank you for your question. The error message you're encountering indicates that the "clean" command, which is used in DiskPart to remove all partitions and volumes from a disk, is not allowed on the disk containing the current boot, system, pagefile, crashdump, or hibernation volume. This restriction is in place to prevent accidental data loss on the active system disk.

Hi there, thank you for your question! If your USB flash drive is heating up when you insert it into the USB port, it could be due to a few reasons: 1. **Normal operation**: It's not unusual for a USB flash drive to generate some heat during use, especially when transferring large files or performing intensive tasks. This heat is generated as a byproduct of electrical energy being used by the drive's components. As long as the temperature remains within a reasonable range and the drive functions properly, this may not be a cause for concern. 2. **Poor heat dissipation**: Some USB flash drives may not have an efficient design for heat dissipation, causing them to heat up more than others. If the drive seems excessively hot, you might want to consider using a different USB flash drive with better heat dissipation properties.
Hi there, thank you for your question! This may indicate a problem with the drive itself or with your computer's USB port. First try a different USB port and see if that resolves the issue otherwise try a different computer if none of these work you might have to replace the flash drive.
Hi there, thank you for your question! Start by deleting any unnecessary files, including old documents, images, videos, or other files that are taking up space but are no longer needed. Make sure to empty the trash or recycle bin on your computer to permanently remove deleted files and free up space. Consider using a compression tool to compress large files on the flash drive to reduce their size without losing any data. Most operating systems have a built-in disk cleanup tool that can help you free up space on your flash drive by scanning the drive for temporary files, system files, and other items that can be safely removed. If none of the above methods work, you may need to format the flash drive. However, keep in mind that formatting will erase all data on the drive, so backup any important files before doing so.

Open the Command Prompt as an administrator type diskpart and press enter then, type list disk to see a list of connected disks. This error can be related to problems with disk management, and it might affect your ability to detect or access storage media. Here are some steps you can try to address this issue:

Thank you. I'm sure its an excellent product and we'll worth the money to many people. However, in retrospect, I'm thinking it's time for me to become better acquainted with Linux, and then hopefully wean myself entirely from Windows and its paradigm.
Yes, this bit with not being able to find a truly free Windows based data recovery program is what is giving me a shove in that direction; but now I'm just thinking it would be good to expand my horizons and maybe learn some new things.
Keep making your videos brother; I'll keep watching them.
A spot on good clear video, thanks alot!! 👍
Come on now dude, very educational but don't you think you should mention the recovery software is going to charge you a jillion dollars how about a video of recovery with free to use software??

Hi there, thank you for your question! Before performing these steps I'd recommend trying to backup the data as data can be lost during this process. Open the Command Prompt as an administrator type diskpart and press enter then, type list disk to see a list of connected disks. Identify your USB drive by its size select the USB drive by typing select disk # then to wipe the drive, enter "clean". Even if the USB drive shows “no media” and 0 bytes, that’s normal then exit out and press Windows key + R and type "diskmgmt.msc" then find the drive and select the new simple volume and follow all the steps.
I don't trust this. Sorry. Windows sees my drive but wants me to format it, which will delete all my data.
Mate we want to fix it not format it
Hi there,
It is possible to recover data from external hard drive. You can try the trial version to check if your files can be found. If so, then it is suggested to buy to recover them back. Try Recoverit for free here: bit.ly/3Yte0n0 But if your hard drive is physically damage, it will not work.
