My 7 year old son has inherited a lineage worth of competitive nature, he is a soccer player and is already showing signs of elite level skills for his age, like myself at that age (I played baseball) all I wanted to do is compete, my son will celebrate a win for a minute, but hold a loss for a week, whatever the score line he always finds something he thinks he could have done better, even after scoring 13 goals in a game it wasn’t good enough in his eyes, my wife and I constantly build him up and tell him how incredible he is, my question for you Shaq, is it healthy to have this much competitive drive at such a young age? And what can we do as parents to help him develop a balance between competing and just living his life?
