When kids move out and onto college and their lives, traditions change and all family members have to adapt. So glad things worked out and you got a tree. It was so much fun seeing Mike let loose today!!
When the wreath fell, all I could think of was "Christmas Vacation". Katie, thank you for volunteering to help with yard work through Habitat for Humanity. My father was going through cancer treatment and was unable to do his yard work and Habitat assisted in cleaning not only the leaves, but also rain gutters and the window wells. You are so appreciated for your public service and I hope you know what peace of mind it is for us, since we lived far away at the time, that someone was taking such good care of my dad and our house.
Christmas is about making memories. Christmas trees, gifts, stockings, goodies, decorations, etc., is cool, but it's the time spent together. Make Christmas/holidays your own, it's more special that way.. You guys are so good about making memories for you and your family, and making holidays your own. Love your videos.

If you have issues finding a tree next year, come south to SoCo. There are several locations/farms were you can cut a tree or they are fresh cut (weekly). Also, you can get a tree twice the size for the same price - look at my FB post of our tree...we spent the same amount. But it Mike's fault - I'm with Katie on this one. :)

Maybe, but honestly can't you remember being a teen and just having a day where you're over tired and frustrated? Sometimes I think we expect too much of everyone else, but when we have a bad day, we think nothing of it. She was obviously tired, asleep on the couch while they wrestled and even said she was too tired at the tree farm. I definitely give her grace this day because he was just obviously off her game.

when I was younger I liked a live tree but they're so messy and it his a hassle so wen't to a fake tree and liked it but then stringing lights was a hassle so moved on to a prelit tree haha
trees are expensive. however I bought my 6 foot, rose red artificial one on ebay for 30 dollars.... it was shipped from an amazon in new jersey! lol ;-)) yep, the person sold one on ebay, but bought it on amazon... don't matter to me as long as it's decent.
No matter what family it is, if there are boys, there is random background wrestling...my 40 year old boyfriend and his 42 year old brother do the same thing, and there are times I get involuntarily thrown into the mix...omg I'm old
It’s really hard to accept when your kids have grown, and family traditions have to change a little bit. In the end, its not about the tree but about the family experience and memories together huh.
I am one of 6 kids. We are all adults. You gotta face the fact that some traditions like going to get the Christmas tree all together will probably change. What are you going to do next year with Brennan and Katie both at college? Just saying and being realistic
Just a thought the Donnelly's have been blessed instead think of the reason for the season. Give back donate that $105 to a local soup kitchen take part of your day to make Christmas for those in need. Help serve a Christmas meal in a shelter we all take for granted what we have been blessed with, Pay it forward. No hate but do what you can for others a tree is meaning less.
