Size wise, will the v65 tank fit the '86 vt1100 frame ?
It would fit, but the rear mounting points will not align. Some modifications will be needed.
@@Lirvic86cv Many thanks, I don't mind modding, I'm looking to get rid of the gauges on the vt1100 tank
@jimnuttall881 i used a sportster tank on my vt1100 86 and i relocated my to the side of the bike. I still needed the fuel and temperature gauges.

How did you hardtail it?
It handles very well. It feels light and fast. Almost like a sports bike. And the ride feels way better than i though with those springs on the seat. They are abit softer than the 3 inch springs so all in all, Great riding bike and it turns heads.
9.5 inch struts from ebay. They are for honda shadows
