- Immigration has with immediate effect suspended the use of phones by staff at Entebbe International Airport.
Investigations will be conducted for cases of fraud and extortion at the airport and actions shall be taken.
Members of the public are encouraged to report with clear evidence of sabotage and missed flights.
I think they need to be upgraded on the way of handling Travellers, they even lack customer care

The whole system is rotten
There have been many complaints made about immigration officers at the Ministry of Internal Affairs ,Entebbe airport as well as those in Embassies but these officers are protected by the big men who need them in those places including the Directors for immigration.
These officers bribe in order to be posted to lucrative positions.The whole place is rotten and should be revamped.
It is only in Internal Affairs where you find some officers who have certificates from Nasser and even those who have changed their names to match the academic documents they bought.
Anything is possible in Uganda
Mr. Sir, I don't blame you at all, cz the only thing you can do is to defend your fellow corrupt friends.
If these guys knew how extremely hard it is to redeem a ticket due to a missed flight even after checking in: then they should talk about reimbursement of ticket costs. Cautioning the errant officers, suspension or dismissal of some of the thuggish officers.
That's isn't enough at all if you wanted to build trust it would have been better to get new trained staff and get the rots out of the airport, its not uniform that people or travellers were complaining about rather your staff behaviour.

When was your flight...what time...which part of the airport?! Why don't you use the CCTV to fire the offending staff?!
@Awebza how will they know what happened to you since friends and family talk to each other at the airport? But once you report they can trace you on the system and find you and follow you up to the person who took money from you.

@@webza77 Ssebo that is not a security issue. The way these people have been taking money from the public was not easy to detect. For example, they take the victim out of tpublic view and ask for their passport and start intimidating and asking for money on camera it looks normal. Remember money was sometimes sent on mobile money.

That won't help at all.... all what was needed is vetting all entebbe airport staff. Coz I believe 80% of staff working in there are family related and that's mean they always cover their tracks. This fraud issue has been happening for more than 5 years, at it has always been known by people above.... so this measures of uniform and I.D is nonsense, vet your staff and get rid of people who not meant to be there.

You don't know the use of CCTVs camera's, they are supposed to be monitored 24/7 and every 3 hrs you to change the attendant,the attendant must be with a radio call with a standby battery, reporting direct to terminal security or boss,and the of the day the head of the security must come and retrieve the data to see what happened through the Day,
Do this in Malaba and Busia borders
Pls tell us there will be no charges for rescheduling the flight in case missed due to the staff's misconduct or negligence

@changedman2238 The camera at the airport can't know if you paid money or not and can only be accessible if there is a problem so corruption is not been a problem for them which means no need to check cameras.
This is nonsense how do you tell us to come with evidence to u whereby the entire airport is full of CCTV cameras, why don't you have them used. Why don't learn from other airports. I remember one day a black big lady asking me for the yellow fever after providing she said how do I know it's no fake? Now on gatuna boarder they have tall small guy who always takes people aside and ask them to pay some money in cas so that they let them go.

You are asking for evidence from public you don't show us what you have put in place to verify allegations and also the new monitoring tool in place to make sure you see what is happening before even clients report. Muli baffu nyo!!!
