I've known the Sorceress was Tela's mother since way back during the original series. They never came right out and said it, but you got the impression there was something between Man At Arms and the Sorceress throughout the series, so the revelation now is just acknowledging what some people probably already knew. It's also good to see that Orko finally got a handle on his own magic. At least Lyn was saved, I always thought she was hot back in the day and always hoped she would come around the side of good.
There was an episode of the original series that straight out revealed this.

I always imagine mark hamill portraying the voice of hordak as he was more demanding and holds a larger presence over skeletor.

I have no problems with our villains being selfish assholes. I also like that both heroes gave their villains a chance of redemption. But evil lyn basically went on a nonsensical tantrum, let's not pretend otherwise.

She reminded me kind of of Owlman from Justice League. The whole "killing everything is the only real choice with any consequence" philosophy.
I think it was one of the best written aspects of the show: Evelyn spent all her life thinking that her magic connected her with something greater, but when she saw the Universe, it was just chaos.
I think this is meant to parallel Teela's journey. Teela was supposed to renounce her connections with the world, but instead, Teela reaffirms her bonds with the people she loves/know.
Teela saves Evelyn because they have a past camaraderie/bond/connection.
This is one of my biggest gripes with the show. Skeletor always had bigger ambitious that just wanting to fight He-Man, they even gave him a reason why he needed the power of GreySkull which was to bring back his family, yet than when he finally got the power he completely dropped that just to fight He-Man. Plus they had Evil-Lyn seduce him in tbe comics and he rejected her, yet Skelegod was defeated because Evil-Lyn seduced him

@@cwillie1492 I mean, not even accounting for the massive amounts of false advertising, doubling down by the creators, mediocre writing, needle thin plot progression, almsot no CHARACTER progression, lies and gaslighting by writers, and the myriad of other problems.
Not even to account for the fact that, even as a standalone show, even if it was called The Teela Show from the beginning, it's still just not good. There are very few redeeming qualities about this show, and those all happen to be either when Skeletor or He-Man are actually on screen and doing stuff according to their character, sure, guess I'm just butthurt, lol.
Man, the 90s reboot was better than this show, and we all know how poorly that turned out.

With Mark Hamill voice acting, the similarity of Skeletor to the Joker is all the more highlighted - all Joker wanted was to "kill Batman" but he knows deep down inside, he's nothing without "Batsy".. same goes for Skeletor's feelings for He-man.. Did Kevin Smith take a page from Batman to apply this to Revelation part 2?

I must admit that I dig Evil-Lyn's Sorceress outfit. That's the only good thing I can say about this.

The only purpose of that outfit was to seduce Skeletor. And her powered-up appearance is like a purple version of Scorpia from She-Ra. Neither outfit looked as good as the original.

C'mon...most of us expected He-Man to be the lead. This was pretty much the Teela and Evil Lyn show.
Why should he be the lead 100% of the time? Let the other Masters of the Universe have the spotlight.
May I direct your attention to the respective show titles. Previously, when He-Man indeed was almost always the absolute main attraction, the shows were called:
"He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" (80s, 2000s and the more kid-friendly other new show) and "The New Adventures of He-Man" (the sci-fi followup back then).
Notice they all have emphasis on He-Man in the title.
However, this show here is called "Masters of the Universe: Revelation". And while no such series would be complete without Adam / He-Man, it clearly shows in the title itself that this is not just about him - and its about damn time to do so, that Universe indeed always featured many interesting characters.
Revelations lets us see different points of view, refreshingly centering around the leading ladies for a change as well as showing some background to several other characters and even introducing new ones.

What I liked: the promise of Hordak; He-Man giving Skeletor a taste of being good; Orko confidently showing his true skill; the internal room designs of Castle Grayskull; the overall plot and story line; the graphic design and most of the voice acting for the characters
What I disliked: In the end, women don't need to make sacrifices to get what they want and are forgiven all their transgressions without any negative consequences for their decisions; everything else
Also a good note, the savage he-man form was amazing. That was a really nice revelation even if it was a bit dues ex machina (not as bad as the teela beating lyn ending tho lol) it gave adam a hell of a fight

I really do like how she just kept walking in Skeletor's stinking Nikes through almost the entire thing.
At least she finally came to her senses at the end ... and saved the one being that saw her as more than Skeletor's arm candy.

In the 2001 remake, King Grayskull defeated Hordak and the Horde, with their hidden magical powers. And he died of exhaustion! However, this series is the continuation of the original. Did Adam's ancestors have anything to do with the energy of Ethernia, the source of Ethernia's power?
This horrible series came with the purpose of solving these doubts and expanding the universe. We didn't have more information about the skeleton's past, nor did they resolve our doubts.

As has been stated in other comments, the writing on Revelations leaves a LOT to be desired.
I believe that this was supposed to draw both of those series together and unify some of the lore ... but it failed miserably.

So Teela finally became the new Sorceress of Castle Greyskull at last, I wonder what life would be liked if the Teela from He Man and the Master of the Universe 2003 ever learn that the Sorceress is her mother and how she would react to learn that she'll be the next Sorceress of Castle Greyskull.
I agree with you and what you are saying here. I think what would happen is a better story, or at least I would hope! In the 2003 version the writers seemed to realize that all the characters had a part to play, and could each have an opportunity to shine. There were no Mary Sues or Marty Sues who had the character flaw of just being too "awesome" like Teela discovered in her battle with Scareglow. Writers need to get over this self-masturbatory fantasy of a perfect character, it makes the character that they write this way nothing but uninteresting trash. What makes a good character will always be the same, they need to stop trying to just subvert expectations and deliver twists, if they can't work something in that makes sense then they need to rethink it. If these subversions are just there to show off, and they don't make a good story, then they are hindering the story. This is what audiences I feel have been saying for a very long time to a Hollywood machine that seems to care very little to listen. Give us good characters and a good story, or don't bother. This series felt like a "don't bother", and I have to agree with most people on that ... which is sad because I loved the 2003 series for the characters and the setting!

@@elvisemerson6435 She could have done that in this series. Instead of being the new big terrible horrible bad, she could have been the new sorceress to help Teela leave the castle and join the battle. She was the most capable of doing that because she actually knew how to use magic.
Teela turning from trained soldier with sword to magic user is like turning a grunt into a fighter pilot.
In fact if She had become the sorceress, it would have fixed the whole series

The fact that Evil-Lyn has become such a cruel villain makes no sense. She, should be the common thread that would lead the heroes to victory, helping to stop the evil skeleton. She always looked like an anti-heroine rather than a villain. including her who should fight alongside He-man in the end, not the Skeletor turned into God!
Tella, She has become too powerful. could be a sorceress learning to use her powers! It would be much more coherent. If we think about Teella never had much practice with magic, she always liked to handle weapons, having a more aggressive aspect than sutil and light, like Adam or the original sorceress.
We don't know anything about the Skeletor's past, that was a mistake. This character is very interesting, and there was no better time to approach his past in a situation where he achieved the long-awaited victory and was very powerful.
This series is full of mistakes. Kevin Smith did not understand He-man and the masters of the universe.

I liked it. It was a good story and that's what counts. Sure, I was hoping for more He-Man but I understand what they did with the story, and at the end when things settle down it's in a good place.
Kevin Smith cost himself a lot of the fans' goodwill by telling them the series would center around He-Man, then giving them the Teela show. Nobody likes to be lied to.
And if Evelyn returns and decides to fight with He-Man and his team, he should share the Power of Grayskull with her and she can continue being that musclebound sorceress.
Hmm, I do recall in the lore of the original 80s series of He-man/She-ra that Skeletor was one of Hordak’s minions and was left behind when the portal closed when Princess Adora was kidnapped.

Part 1 sets up for the pay off of part 2. Everyone was mad at part 1 part 2 is better bit you can tell Kevin had obligations due to his bosses. If he wrote this without their restrictions the show would be 1000x better. He is a good writer when you look past what they forced him to include

We have to take a look at what Evil-Lyn saw, the snake that bites Zoar -symbolizing He-man- and the purple goat -symbolizing Skeletor-, did she had a look into the future?, King Hiss finally appears and takes down Skeletor and He-Man?. We are aware that in the next part, Hordak will be the lead enemy, and lets remember according to the cannon, it was Hordak who defeated king Hiss, so is King Hiss finally appearing in part four or five after Hordak is defeated? May there is a history there, may be it is skeletor and he-man who bring back King Hiss to defeat Hordak

One addition, part 2 didn't break into the top 20 shows. No one came back for it. There won't be a part 3. And what would they even do? Teela in this form would walk through the Horde and Hordak. There is no where to go now. The story is over.

The ending basically condemns boys for enjoying war and conflict. Action figures do NOT symbolize verbal resolution. They represent HARMLESS escapism for those who admire brute power. IE most boys!
He-Man was the most powerful man in the universe, and was still a gentle soul and a diplomat. This series was a bad faith argument against a straw man.
Sad, because Tesla’s connections to the sorceress were worth exploring without sidelining Adam.

They didnt want anyone to know cause less people would have watched it. If they had just been honest about it from the get go then it would have been better for the show in the long run. Before this show they were just...there with nothing to truly add to the content. Next season is prolly gonna focus more on Adam's parents and Adam or on some other character. Lyn and Teela's story arcs are done, time to move on to others. complaining about He-Man being secondary is stupid cuz he isn't secondary, he already had his major character arch in the original show. Hence why they had his secret revealed, so that in season 2, they can focus fully on He-Man and his family since that is likely to be what the next story arc is about.

Skeletor and Evil Lyn has as much resolve for being evil as Teela has for being a man-at-arms.

So Evil-Lyn turned into Thanos with a hint of Mannimarco ... I didn't like the first part at all, partial to the second part. I liked the team up of Skeletor and Adam, I always hoped they would team up in the 200x series against Hordak, but we never get to see that. So I'm happy with what we got here. Teela I don't like at all, thought she got less bratty in the second part.

Wasn't blown away by this series but I did enjoy it, wouldn't mind seeing it continue. Great animation, great voice cast. Would really be nice if it did well enough to justify releasing the 2002 series on blu-ray. That show is fantastic, unfortunately it's out of print and spendy on dvd.

I thought that was Hordak's image at the end, but he was a She-Ra villain. Wonder if they plan to bring him in without She-Ra. I just feel like the people behind this show were cracking themselves up with all the sexual innuendos. He-Man's father actually told some of the bad guys to kiss the ring. And then when Skeletor comes back for his final battle, he goes all Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction when he says, "I won't be ignored!" It was little bit overboard cringe.
The 80s crossover movie has Skeletor being a former disciple of Hordak who rebelled. There was also a He Man episode where an unnamed invading army (but wearing the Horde symbol) attempt to capture Eternia.
lol. Kinda like this over analyzation. But yeah, Hordak has always been connected to Masters of the Universe beyond She-Ra.
Also kissing the ring isn't sexual. It's old tradition. You do it when you meet the Pope (or Mafia Godfathers)
Hordak is a He-Man villain. She-Ra started as a spinoff of He-Man but Hordak predates her and was just made into her enemy so she had someone to fight
I am glad the Horde/Hordak is going to show up in Season 3, but we need more focus on He-man. More focus on the other MOTU heroes and villains and not all the focus on Teela and the sorceress.

Lynn exiles her self on Trolla . You left out how Orko came back and that Lynn was the reason that he stayed once the demons from the underworld were sent away after the final battle. She redeemed herself for not being able to save him before. And I'm not sure whether the tease of the horde means they'll be a third season or if it just means that the battle will continue given that Grayskull will still need defending from more than just the bone man and his lackeys.
She destroyed heaven and wanted to the same to the entire universe. She was given a free pass with no consequences. That's bull on the show's part but whatever. This was what *they* wanted. I will say the animation is incredibly stunning.
She killed Panthor, over a dozen good guys and destroyed their souls, destroyed Heaven and Hell and almost destroyed the whole Universe.
But she only got a slap on the wrist for being a BAD girl. It was Skeletor who is the real bad guy for picking her out the sewers, teaching her magic and giving her power and independence!!! He was the bad guy all along!
Did she redeem herself for destroying Preternia (and killing everyone who lived there?)? Because I would imagine it would take far more than sparing a single life from being condemned to eternity on the Underworld to make up for the damage she had done.

Absolutely terrible. The shows two main characters, He-Man and Skeletor, were sidelined and for what?! Teela was made into a whiny, unbearable character and the shows only interesting character was turned into He-vilyn.

Admittedly, the continuity is said to come from the formation universe, the hints taken of the revevelation comics instead is pretty dang contradicting. That's what bothers me about it by most. Then again, I primarily feel that Netflix writers like to do their own thing with both he man, she ra, and transformers like separate universes in a way.
I feel like Kevin Smith only saw the live action movie, while stoned, and the other guys read a couple comics, and they just mashed crap together.

Part 2 was another bait in switch they promised a proper showdown with He man fighting God Skeletor, Teela fighting Evil-lyn sorcerer vs sorcerer. But no instead we get an undeserved Evil-Lyn taking the sword and becoming a god.

@@Buzz32123 cuz there were a few youtube podcast channels who wanted spoilers for the show - to prove to was going to be too “woke” and Kevin Smith had to dance around the plot, until he was forced to describe what a big role Teela had. And he promised he man was the central character - but people judged it like the old TV show rather than what it is … a 4 hour movie … with plenty of he man.

I so happy about the appearance of Hordak. If She-Ra appears I hope the original lore also stays as well: I was not too happy about the new one that was made: too many mistakes made to the characters. Also the lore and the villains.

Teela found the loophole in the contract.
If the idea was to only safeguard "The Power", the Sorceress would be chained to it.
By revealing it and harnessing it for the benefit of all, Teela (as the Sorceress) became an embodiment of the original Council.
If you rewatch the series, the original King Greyskull is shown to be the original "Champion".
Upon his passing, that "Power" returned to its source, taking part of Greyskull's sentience with it.
It then turned Greyskull's sword into a conduit, and his friends into the original council.
It also formed the contract with Greyskull's wife, who became the first Sorceress.
Teela-Na, Teela's mother in Revelations, believed that she needed to abandon all attachments.
Teela's belief that attachments make her more powerful, is much more in line with the ideal of the companions and wife of Greyskull.
In short, Teela didn't ignore or break the rules. She simply realized that some things are too important to be kept secret.

In both the show and comics, there were "flashbacks" to where Greyskull wasn't some skull like castle, but a stylized futuristic fantasy building.
I get it if you just want to hate the new show.
