I think the purpose of the dust cover of the cone is to align the bearings perfectly than a cone without a dustcap, I notice this when I had a cone without a dustcap on the right while a cone with a dustcap on the left, as perfectly tighten those too I notice the right as a wobble.
Some hubs on some frames need a bit of preload looseness. Then, once tightened into the frame the looseness goes away. Without this preload looseness the bearings are just too tight. Would be nice to address this topic, but still a good video.
Calvin shows that in this video very well ua-cam.com/video/Uxi7wTRGfZM/v-deo.html. Not sure if its only related to Quick release, or also to these "bolt-tightened" axls.
I need to replace 3 kids bikes 2 20in, and 1 26in rear axles for longer ones for training wheels, Do you have any idea what the thread size is for these to purchase new longer axles? 15mm outside diameter and I believe 10m inside but the 1 1.25 or 1.5 don't fit
Whats Up Richard Nice To Meet You Brother. I Have A Mens And Womens Nishiki Pueblo bike From Dicks Sporting Goods And Would Like To Know What Ball Bearing System It Has If It Has Cartridge Bearing Systems And Adjustable “Cup-And- Cone” Bearing Systems Or A Different Type Of System And What Kind Of Hub It Has As Well Because The Website Doesnt Provide Much Specific Information Of The Components And Parts Installed On The Bike. I Really Want To Learn Bicycle Maintenance And Repair. If Your Able To Help Me Out With That I Will Greatly Appreciate It Very Much From The 💚🫂 Thank You And Have A Great Blessed Night Brother.
The term nut is not scientific as it has a different meaning in food. Hardware should have their specific name and not be mixed with food so don't talk nigga
love the video. just reaching the climax of the 2 nuts in a vice.. "Now All We Have To Do Is... i have the wrong wrench."

Can someone tell me what size that axle nuts please?
Since when do we just drop bearings in loosely like that? I must be way out of touch I guess.
Dont think there should be a washer between the lock nut and cone
It's the location where spacers would go so it's not really a big deal.
what is the magnet? I checked on Park tool's website and couldn't find it.
It's their pick set. They have magnets on one end and I find them very helpful. They are also the most durable picks I've used.
@@richardsbikeshop5268 do you have the code?

haha. Sometimes I don't word good. haha
What nuts nigga? Peanuts?

Just think of a penis with two nuts.😅 It's obvious what resembles the bolt.
@@richardsbikeshop5268Sometimes I don't word well.
What if we don't have an axle vise and the locknut is so small it can't be grabbed by a normal bench vise?
With a normal bench vice, you can easily grab the 15mm lock nut no sweat. This is what I normally use, not the axle vice.
How do you true rotors?
