Hi, well done for doing this. I couldn't agree with you more on installing RCD. Years ago I went to Ghana and saw a house with no RCD but a board of fuses and wires. I got on the case straight away and stressed how important it was to install RCD, at that time it was not popular in Ghana. RCD is very important in the house. I think some of the way to drum it into people is to advice that it could also save electrical gadgets from getting damaged, as if there are any electrical problems only the affected faulty equipment would trip that plug, instead of it maybe messing up other equipment. Is a life saver.

Thanks for this video. My Uncle and nephew were the ones that tragically lost their lives. Uncle had a new job which came with a bungalow. He went to take a shower and due to faulty shower had an electric shock. His son not knowing what was happening to his Dad went to hug him. Tragically both lost their lives. Hopefully for this video can educate all builders in Ghana to have a heart and stop cutting corners. People need to be careful especially when staying at other people’s houses guest houses hotels etc. we can be safe in our own house and take all the precautions but another house might be where it’s unsafe.

Very good educational information. Many people don't think about these potentials until it's too late. Too many false professionals in Ghana. My advice for people building their homes is that they should make sure they get thorough electrician credentials from individuals because too many so called professionals here in Ghana have no clue of activities rational.

One of the things with some of the buildings in Ghana is having pipes sticking out around the building, when it rains water splashing on the building meaning having to paint the exterior more often and even damaging the exterior. When I see this in Ghana I'm thinking why can't they install half guttering or concealed drainage if flat roof and downpipes?🤔I don't know if you've noticed this or done a video on this. But now I think most of the buildings are avoiding those pipes now.
Drain pipe are exposed even more commonly in those American wood framed houses. Definitely not a Ghana exclusive thing. With that said, it's not practical on all building roof styles. By the way, how would an exposed rain gutter be the cause of water splashes? Is it not supposed to rather prevent that issue from happening?
@@aberba I don't think you know the pipes am talking about. Even if the building is wood frame, which most of the buildings are in US, guttering and downpipes can be installed. Guttering is practical to any building, only where there's a flat roof then concealed (drainage) guttering and downpipe can be installed. The only pipe that should be seen sticking out of a building should be the overflow pipe. I think the reason why most of the pipes were left sticking out all around buildings the early days, are due to the fact that Ghana does not have underground drainage system, but surface drainage. They still don't have underground drainage, but water (rainwater) coming from downpipe can be collected to water tank to collect the water, (which can be used for gardening). Or a channel can be made where the water can go to a soak away or lead to the open gutter which are everywhere in Ghana.

I bought Havells RCCB and it's been working fine. Passes all the tests. Was 150 cedis when I bought but now 200. Been using it for almost half a yr and it still passing the tests

MCCB is not the same as RCD or RCCB. Follow the options described in the video
Considering an RCCB is just 200 cedis, I don't know why anyone would ignore it. Price reached 200 cedis only recently BTW.
