1. Draw to find the form (erasing is legal & cool) 2. Whittle it down to the line that looks best (when it feels right, it's right) 3. Value isn't just for color, use it to describe the dimension of the forms (plane change = hard shadow edge) 4. Move on to the next one (the time you spend drawing is much more important than the end result) 5. Enjoy your own creative process (tutorial lock is real)
I have been an illustrator for nearly 20 years, and my mind is constantly eating and absorbing techniques and methods by this alone. There are times when I get overwhelmed at the sheer amount of detail and work and have to look away because I can't turn it off and just look at things and enjoy it.
Its characters are recognizable as they are well written, if you can play it give it a try. It's not an impossible game, and has one of the most peculiar a d capillar artistic directions I've ever seen
I love how you captured a kinda goofy side of Godfrey few show, and I find the boc sketch absolutely adorable. Thx for the video, i think i will start sketching like this too, so far I've mainly worked with thumbnails only to make few finished drawings bc of my blasted perfectionism.
The drawing of the tarnished and boc is pretty great. I've gone for similar looks with my character to the extent where I immediately identified it as the tarnished despite you know, them being a custom character.
all of theses drawing r so beautiful but i especially love the way u constructed them, also seeing u constantly erase and redraw parts of the drawings kinda affirmed me cus i do the same thing lol
It sure is! His name is Thaedric and while he's not a full on caster but I do level in dex/fai! At the time of drawing this I used casting for distance whenever I couldn't get close to any bosses. My build post-DLC is WAY different now lmao
@@radicallymaxton That's so cool!! My Tarnish is a glint stone sorcerer that realized she needed to still work on her stnregth and faith, trying to make it through a crumbling world and find a foundation that would welcome her. Sadly, betrayal after betrayal, she'll never forget her first teacher Selen and makes sure to add her glint to her blade. The one person that didn't try to take her for granted. It is now time to watch this 30 times and gain the knowledge through visual osmosis
That’s exactly what I’m doing😭 We must absorb this information
AND replay one specific bit 30 times to figure out how that one line is made
