  • We take a look at the new BOSCH PROFACTOR circular saw that is targeted towards the PROs and designed to use the CORE 18v PROFACTOR batteries. GKS18V-25C GKS18V-25CN amzn.to/3g3UjPp
Geared towards the PRO, but has a few misses with:
    - Missing rafter hook
    - Stickers instead of stamped in indicators
    - Loose and plastic depth adjustment system
    - Bit low on the performance
But at the end of the day will probably be fine in getting the job done if you're in the bosch lineup.
Whether you should go out of your way and get into the bosch lineup with this saw maybe a different story. Bosch usually makes good and reliable
Strong Arm PROFACTOR performance - delivers corded performance from an 18V cordless 7-1/4 In. saw
2-1/2 In. cut capacity - allows for easy cutting through 2X material across the entire bevel range
ECO mode - helps get the job done by extending runtime by up to 30%
BITURBO Brushless Technology - featuring a brushless high-performance motor and drive-train system engineered to take full advantage of the additional power generated by CORE18V PROFACTOR batteries
One-Touch depth-adjustment - allows quick, accurate change with one hand
Onboard user interface - provides speed-setting control with six settings and tool feedback
Connectivity (module sold separately) - link to connected device via Bosch Toolbox App to customize settings and receive detailed feedback
50° bevel range - provides bevel locks in both front and back
Auxiliary handle - delivers enhanced ergonomic handling in either hand, even when beveling
Track compatibility - for straight cuts fast, the saw is compatible with Bosch as well as select manufacturers’ tracks
Electronic convenience brake - quickly stops the blade for less downtime between repeated cuts
Pivoting dust port - rotates 360° directing dust or optional vac hose away from body when saw is held in either hand

Bosch is one of those brands that builds tools that will get the job done. They usually focus on quality and reliability versus speed and performance numbers. Quality and reliability is what most pros that use the tools day in and out look for. Seems they may have hired some younger generation folks for their marketing. I agree its strange. I have never seen a single failed bosch tool, where as other tools are warrantied left and right.

I think there's still a lot to come for the Biturbo series. The new 18V-150 drill and the new impact wrench slaps everything on the market right now.

Bosch's problem in cordless tools was their horrible batteries. The reason you didn't see many in warranty was the tools were on fire and melted from those old batteries hahaaa.
Now, they have THE BEST battery in the biz. And they're innovating tools more and more. The strongarm model in the video here isnt very good. The better version of the Strongarm us the greatest circular I've ever used. Having true track capability, and having a 7-¼ blade is great. Even better, next year there will be a left blade option. It will be the first left blade that is track capable and can rip 2-by lumber at any bevel.
Basically, Bosch has moved in on the market hard. And they did it at just the right time, as every other brand isn't designing truly new tools, and the quality from other brands is falling fast.

Yeah, now that I've watched the entire video in depth (which was amazing btw) you reallllly need to try the 25GCN by Bosch.
It will not beat out the 36v, 40v, or 60v saws in speed, but once you use it, and see how it has more practical uses than those "over-power" saws you will be blown away!!!
I'm excited to see your take on it. Everyone I've let use mine has been dumbfounded by it.
I really can't think of a single flaw on it.

@@4thewinak I (was) using the 8ah myself... was hoping there'd be a 12ah deal soon.
I say was because I traded it to a buddy. I only traded it because the left blade comes in 2022, and I've been waiting on that saw for years and years. (Because I'm right handed, and right blade, 6-½" track plunge saws just aren't designed properly for right handed people. Yet everyone has become so used to it, that they never really think about it.... but once a right handed person does, they will realize. And Makita (and especially Festool) will start to drop like flies... since users have asked for 7-¼", left blade track saws for years, with no response.
Bosch's secret (for now) tools coming out in 2022/2023 will push them beyond the overplayed marketing hype trash train that the industry has fed on.

@@mytoolbox871 then Dewalt will make one, at 1/10th the size, and hype it up for months, only to have them break down and users scratch their heads saying "But the saw had 27,000,000ft lbs of torque though???" Lol.
That exaggerated hypothetical is still better than the reality of what will happen to Dewalts new batteries. I feel so bad for people going broke from the cost on that trash train driven by Hype Hogan at Dewalt.

@@carterscustomrods thats great, i personally don't like left blade saws, unless for trim cuts that don't need to be accurate, ir brwaking down pallets... seems like the 6 1/2 will be like their old brushed one,.. track ready. its cool but not my style, because i dont like saw dust in my face and i feel very good and comfortable behind the motor and blade, that's how I learned and that's how i cut, right hand blade right, if the blade is left i ll cut with my left. the bosch handle is perfect to cut like that, its super streamlined for my usage, many reasons why on big saws, the blade is on the left for right handed, safety is number 1, also the saw will rest on the work piece while, the cut off just falls off, just weird to me having it the other way around,.. but if it works for you, hey i aint judging . .. its interesting that you mention a new 6 1/2, i ve checked all German sites and even attended the Bosch Media event on youtube 2 days ago and they didn't mention anything. I am from Germany and am fluent, but Bosch didn't mention anything. What's your source?

Skil and Bosch (one in the same for a while) are both "Worm Drive Saws" that I still own. I have a bunch of them and they come in right and left versions just like the "Strong Arm" does. The sticker doesn't matter since if you look at the Skil or Bosch AC powered WDSs they don't have any scales on the base. The angle adjustment is important for roofing framers. I'm glad Bosch came out with some wood working stuff because for a while it looked like they were going away! Battery saws are useful when you only have a few cuts to make or need to do something on a ladder. Back in the day PorterCable made a 7.25" magnesium framing saw in R or L handed versions, 15Amp direct drive. I still use that saw and I'm looking for another because they are bad to the bone, very light and have a R & L version so you can see what you're cutting.

Too bad you didn't get the good version of the Strongarm (GKS18-25GC).
It's light-years better than the 25C version. It's a 7-¼ with a plunge feature and a much better track feature.
Next year it comes with a left sided blade (as all track capable saws should be).
So try to better version, but I'd recommend waiting for the left blade (if you are right handed). The current version has better strength, durability, and overall design. Also, having 1 tool to use with a track (it is compatible with the Bosch, Makita, and Festool tracks) or as an actual circular saw.
So getting 1 tool to take the place of 3 us great. And being a 7-¼ means it can be used on a track that allows you to rip 2-by lumber at any bevel. For instance, if you have 2x4 or 2x6, and you want to cut a French cleat, it can be done easily.
So look into the better version of the Strongarm. It is a completely different beast, and I like it more than my Makita's.
