Wow nice review! Without a doubt the best one I've seen from this channel! The Niagara is truly a beautiful beast, and as good as the BLI model is, Bachmann is my favorite and really has gotten a lot closer.
Honestly will this is one of my favorite videos that you have made so far! Really nailed the points across this video and both models looks stunning and both have quality values to there own design choices, I really like the longer videos! ,and thanks again for using the thumbnail I made for you!
You have certainly taught us how to do a model locomotive comparison. Now, if I was the driver of that Thunderbird at the crossing, I would stand beside the car and enjoy watching the train, perhaps with a camera in hand or waving. During this time of shut-ins, we depend on you tubers to be our friends, Thanks. On my channel I have never had a negative comment, although I know I am not the best at you tubing.
Just simply nice pieces. I can picture those locomotives blowing through Ontario on the old CASO,Niagara to Detroit stopping in St Thomas. Thanks for posting.🚂🇨🇦
So...that above shot, showing off the difference in the sand domes. It's actually a difference which occured in real life. One of the modifications to the Niagara was the inclusion of v shaped drip lips at the top of the sand dome.
Dang...moving up the production values. Nice! Geezer talking now....the silver paint on the front was a graphite/oil/turpentine mix. Used for its high heat tolerance. Was used as touch up paint between major service or as a from the factory paint job. Like painted tires and cylinder heads it depended on how much the RR could spend that quarter.
I think there's a function for the air horn on your Broadway limited Niagara as well as steam whistles niagara's were equipped with a wabco E2 air horn to break through fog easier correct me if I'm wrong on the model of air horn it's possible it's a Leslie A-200 if anyone does know what model horn the Niagara was equipped with let me know
I like to think of the Broadway Limited locomotive as more of a generation one Niagara, while the Bachmann Niagara is a newer, more simplified, more refined version of the Niagara. They can both be run together with minimal effect on realism.
The first thing that caught my eye between Bachmann vs BLI locos was the pilot truck on the locos. The BLI has the more realistic pilot truck vs Bachmann. As far as price, if you are a budget locomotive, the Bachmann engine can be a contender.
I have a second hand Bachmann up Niagara and it’s gorgeous, however one of the crank pins has broken and doesn’t fit anymore. I was able to do a hackney job to “fix” it, but I don’t know how long that’ll last and I’m looking into buying a bwl one instead
I like both models of the NYC Niagara but the BLI version is the superior model with their additional sound and details, Bachmann should reconsider reproducing their nyc "niagara" model once again.
The NYC had a lower load height than most other railroads at the time, meaning the engines had to be physically shorter to clear tunnels. The engine doesn’t even have a steam dome to accommodate this
Because I’m comparing the two engines and one didn’t come with sound included. To make the most fair comparison between them I showed it without sound. If you want to see it running with sound there is a separate review for the BLI version
@@gopernoperstrains3160 I didn't realize that until I went to the beginning of the video and yes, they do sound nice at the beginning. I'm sorry I just said something without thinki'm sorry.
Very nice review! I don't think I've ever seen a direct comparison between those models until this video!
I have a Bachman UP niagra. Even though it’s fictional, It’s my greatest puller.
Same

I'm gonna find a way to fit a figure in the driver's seat eventually lol. That's my dream car, a 1957 Thunderbird (the model is a 56 style tho)
That is one awesome comparison Will. Love both the Bachmann, and Broadway Limited Niagara’s. Awesome work dude.

are the axles supposed to be visible on the BLI Niagara? Because that doesn't seem to be the case for the Bachmann
Will the Bachmann model only run smoothly with a DCC controller?
I want both of them... They are on my growing list or locomotive I want in my fleet

What are your layout dimensions?
I said my New York Central locomotive into box me and never seen it ever again
great video thanks for sharing .
FEF-3s look better in my opinion. The stubby domes and stacks make the locomotive's proportions look odd.

@@gopernoperstrains3160 Oh. I'd like to see a video comparing the FEF to the Niagra.
@@Uptownloki47 Maybe if I get a BLI fef lol
And I'm still very upset about my steam locomotive
Breh Why did you t Turn the sound off I mean what's the whole point of seeing this thing run if there's no sound?
