I used one for several weeks in Japan last year. Very lightweight. In fact, the stabilizing hip belt was able to take almost all the wait entirely... I was able to lift up the backpack straps up and away from my body and the waist belt kept everything up without the bag falling down or the waist belt digging in. Also helped when wearing the backpack in front on crowded trains and train stations.. could easily close the waist belt in back and everything just stayed up in front... hands were free and could rest in trouser pockets, grab the lower front grab handle, or rest on top of the bag. Even in the segmented pockets I still used medium and small packing cubes and pouches for further organization, and to help with random access to things without fishing for them. With toiletries and stuff in one segment (the top), it was easy to take out 3-1-1 bag and laptop for passing through security at the airport, and quickly put everything back in.

I actually messaged matador and told them they should do a seg 22 or 20 with these outer pockets. I actually like this bag but it was way too big for me. Likely i have wide shoulders so it fit me ok. Im a several quick access pockets over packing cubes kinda guy. Ty for the review

Oof! Sorry to hear about how it fit on you guys. The SEG series is actually pretty popular at our shop, but I think your cons are totally valid. Awesome video!

Hi: Which packing cubes would "form-fit" this bag? I am thinking the Peak Design medium ans small packing cubes. Would you agree? Thanks!

So, I immediately determined that travel cubes are a much better plan. Thanks

😂 Glad we could help! I’m also a fan of packing cubes. 😂
