Douglass Watson's wife was my sister's English teacher in Jr. High. One day he walked in the room, put flowers on her desk and walked out. My sister was like "That was Mac Cory!"
When the time is right I’d love to see a Anne Heche tribute with some of the ppl she worked closely with during her time on AW. Rest In Peace Anne. She was a unique brilliant actress who seemed misunderstood and she deserves a tribute.

Great memories seeing all of you. Your story lines had great value when fans remember them. Another World was more then a soap opera it was family!
I loved Frankie. Her death scene, though, traumatized me. How could they have let her go. And the antics of Cass, Felicia and Wally, were hilarious. I started watching AW when I was about 12. I would rush home from school, and God help anyone who tried to stand between our TV set and me. One day my mother asked what I was watching. She kind of sneered and walked away. Eventually she would sit with me and I started filling her in on all the goings in in Bay City. She became even more obsessed than I was. I lost interest in the show for a while, but mom would still fill me in on everything. I will never forget the last episode. I debated whether I wanted to watch, because it had been years since I had seen it. But I did watch and it didn't matter that I didn't know what was going on. I just loved seeing the familiar faces again, and I bawled my eyes out. The picture of Douglas Watson, at the end, really got me. His death and Ada's death must have been unbearable for the cast. I loved Rachel and Mac. They made me believe in love. I'll still never understand how the writers could have Rachel marry Carl. Didn't he kidnap her and try to kill her? And I do remember when the whole town try to poison evil Carl. Thanks for the reunion. It's nice to see the faces I remember, except for Christine. I only remember Sandra, as Amanda.

Alice Barrett Mitchell! Frankie Frame! Love from Austin, Texas! It was so hard to watch AW after she was killed off. Unforgivable. Thank goodness Anna and Kale were still around. Each of those actors gave me reasons to tune into AW.❤️
Really wish I could have caught this live. AW was the best soap ever! It's been off the air for over 20 years now, which is longer than I even watched it for, and I still miss it. I grew up watching it, it ended when I was 13, but I'll never forget it.

Kale was visiting a shopping mall in Montreal many, many years ago. I was in a lineup of women, waiting to meet him. I think I was the only woman who was bold enough to ask him for a hug, and he happily complied!
I love hearing those stories.
I first saw Anna Stewart when she was filling in for Maeve Kincaid on Guiding Light as Vanessa.
Then a few years later some friends of mine who watched Another World. They said that I had got to see this lady on another world who is just fabulous her name is Donna Love I said okay I'll check it out even though y'all know I'm a fan of As the World Turns but I'll check it out. Much to my surprise this fabulous Donna Love love was being played Anna Stewart. Thanks to the VCR, I was able to become a part of Bay City without having to leave Oakdale LOL and Anna Stewart is who brought me to another world and when she left the show for a while so did I just saying!

Me too! I got home about 2:20 pm every day from school to catch the last 40 minutes of AW until I got a VCR and began recording the show.
I always loved Anna. I was so thrilled when she came back. She's from southern West Virginia like I am.
Thank you so much for this. Another World was and still is my favorite soap opera of all time. It is so fun to listen to their memories. Would love to see more reunions for AW!
I never watched Frankie’s murder. I was in college at that time, in a dorm with a roommate. I repeatedly told her I was taping a show at 2 (CST) and she could use the TV (we had a cable box, so all needed to do was turn it on and switch over to the cable remote) but not to turn on the VCR. Every single day she would come in and turn on the VCR, which meant my recording never happened.
After watching a few moments here on UA-cam, she really did me a favor.

Alicia wrote an amazing and touching book called Gracefully Gone about the death of her father. It's well worth a read!

I never watched Another World, but hearing all these actors speak so fondly about the experience, now I wish I had.
Right? Me too. They were fab.
I started watching Another World during the summer of 94 and always wondered what I missed in the years before. Thankfully I have found many episodes on UA-cam so you should check it out. Some of my favorite episodes are when Carl and Rachel (Charles Keating and Victoria Wyndham) fall in love.
If you are on FB, there is an AW group were episodes as far back as 1980 are loaded.
This was wonderful! I watched Another World from the time I was in elementary school until Frankie and Ryan were killed off. My twin brother and I did tune in for the final episode, right where we saw our first one so many years prior - in Grandma's living room as we helped her pack to move to Florida with us. It was an end of more than one era. I was lucky enough to meet the cast a fan club event in the '90s. Last year my twin brother and I were super excited to get to interview Anne Heche for web site during the Sarasota Film Festival. Thank you for doing this and thank you Another World for the memories!
Frankie's death was still the worst of them all

I wish canadian ratings counted another world would still be on the air in a country of 36 million it drew an audience daily of over 3 million!! ...its cancellation made our national news ..its final episide lots of places closed for the hour....bars were packed watching it...and the performers always treated canada well toones of personal appearences...
.i miss aw but in retrospect im glad its not on today if it had to be todays soaps!!....it was the best...
Here, here! Canadian audiences *loved* AW and you're right about the news of cancellation - I remember it being announced on the evening news!
@@lol365 i think it was because until about 1977 aw was the only soap ...then edge if night...ryans hope...then all of them....texas was huge in canada as well!! ...the most watched ones here were ryans hope edge if night all my children general hispitoil santa barbara passiins...and of course tk this day coronation street still loved by canadians...aside from that i dont know anyine who watches soaps now....

The cbs soaps took longer to catch on because most if canada dudnt get the cbs statiins till about 1982!!! ....the cbc was very particular about what they aired they did edge of night ...ryans hope mostly because ryans was an american corrie!! And all my children...ctv gave us texas ...santa barbara..general hospitol...and of course another world...when i think of it i watched alot at various times i enjoyed all my children...one life to live...general hispitol...edge of night...generations...santa barbara ..another world..... id see texas and days because it was always on but didnt really watch....kind of liked gl one summer with tony and annabelle...but never really got into cbs....and guilty of tuning in passions lol....now thru soapnet and you tube i am loving both ryans hope and sunset beach!!! ....
I am Canadian and from Newfoundland. Everybody watched Another World. Everyone I knew talked about how great Mac and Rachel Cory were and how deliciously evil Carl Hutchins was and the antics of Felicia and Cass and the love of Vicky and Ryan!

Thanks for this wonderful reunion! All 4 of these actresses were robbed of Emmy nominations for their work on Another World, esp. Anna Stuart!!! Yes, Frankie's death was truly awful and one of the worst decisions ever on a soap. This brought up so many happy memories of Another World!!!!

I lived in Brooklyn, NYC & went to school near where they filmed at one point also.. I often wondered what they were creating specifically while I was not too far away in school 😀

I am 43 years old. My father worked from home when I was a little boy. I remember being home sick from school in 1985 for couple of weeks. My Dad would always watch Another World. The soap opera he watched. I remember Mac, Rachel, Felicia, Carl -!: others. Years later I was in junior high school I came home to friends house and his sister was was watching Another World. This was 6 years later and I saw Charles Keating and blurted out that’s “Carl Hutchins”. I asked if he still hated Mac Cory. I was hooked on Another World from that day until it’s cancellation. When they said “Another World” was like family, I believe it. I never had many friends back then. I loved going to Bay City each day for and hour. I absolutely adored Charles Keating and I followed his career. Also these phenomenal actors. Amanda, Donna (Bella), Lorna, Michael and Frankie. Thank you very hosting this. Family reunion!

I absolutely agree with you, I didn't have a lot of friends either so the wonderful people of Bay City were like a second family to me. I did love Charles Keating and Victoria Wyndham together, they had real chemistry together. Being a man watching AW I was kind of by myself there lol.

I know we can't have these daytime soaps come back, but I wish the studios would at least put up the whole series of them online for streaming. I would gladly pay a monthly fee to watch AW from start to finish but for now i'm glad there's some episodes here on you tube to revisit. It was nice to watch this and see some of the actors talk about their time on the show.

I've had a stressful few days and this just took the stress away. Thank you Alan. Thank you to all the actors. This was such a nice surprise to watch. I cried like a baby when they cancelled AW and my then husband thought I was nuts, since it was "just a tv show" Another World was my oldest friend, not my best friend, but my oldest. I'm glad I found this today.

Thank you again for doing this. Its so awesome to see how our favorite soap actors are doing especially those from our favorite shows that were cancelled. I wish there was a way to get Victoria Wyndam to do one. I would love to see how she is. And what she's doing now. I really miss Another world and the characters of Rachel and Car. There will never be o th er actors like Victoria Wyndam or the late great Charles Keating.

Newly arrived in Canada, without much to do until educational certificates were scrutinized and evaluated for further studies. My husband suggested I watch daytime soaps to pass the time “as that is what housewives do” as per my husband. I tried watching many but only Another World kept my interest and I watched it until it ended!!

The only one I recognize is Anna Stuart and Allan. ..I used to watch this show religiously but I don't recognize the other ones at all. I just looked up Christina Tucci,wow I do not recognize her anymore.
It’s only because of SoapNet rerun that I’ve seen few AW episodes in the 1980s time period. I didn’t know Alicia was part of AW… I loved her in Jericho & umm I remembered her death scene in Star Trek: Voyager pilot episode. So gorgeous seriously! It’s always good to learn about the people of Bay City because they are important to so many people. You know how The Chronicles of Narnia ended? The show is over in this world but who knows… maybe Bay City is still full of life up there with legendary characters 😉 Keep up with stories & it’s much appreciated ❤️

It literally took me years to watch Frankie's murder. Still gets to me today. I loved Frankie, I was New Age, too! Still am!
Watching this brought back so many AW memories. Do you guy's remember the great storyline of Cass, Wallingford, Felicia and
the gangster 'Tony The Tuna?' He was called 'Tony The Tuna' because he took people out into the ocean and they never come back. Funny!
I just remembered the Sven character (played by Robert Blossom's) from around '74. Didn't he kill Rocky and bury him under the boathouse?
yes tmr626 I remember those episodes so well...when Rachel was on to him, he kidnapped her and held her in the pump house...the sounds of which were recognized by Mac and she eventually was freed. Wasn't AW the BEST during the mid to late 1970's.
Sven, Helga, Regine, Jamie, Mac and Rachel story line all played out in 1978 - MUST SEE TV. I bought my first VCR the following year in 1979 because of AW. Couldn't live w/o AW...still miss it! That's why these reunions mean so much I believe!!!

I didn't get footage at the reunion, but they are selling some of the footage on the AW fan site. I hope to interview some of those actors soon.

Alan this was so good. Alicia Coppola was one of my favorites on AW, her and Alice Barrett. I always thought Alicia should have been nominated for an Emmy for her Rape Storyline, that was so good, to this day I don't think I was as moved with a performance the way I was with her choices during that storyline, she was also great during Felicia's alcoholism storyline as well. I can go on and on about her work. Thank you Alice for letting us know why Frankie was killed off, I never watched AW the same after they killed Frankie, that broke my heart. Alan thanks again for all these interviews, you're gonna be sick of me lol.

I loved another world, I think it was the best soap and letting go of Alice and PMV was the nail to the coffin. But AW got canned was the indication of direction of television and other soaps to say farewell. I am salty that AW got replaced by Passions.

Alan, just found you a few weeks ago, I was on board when you had Sean Christiansen or Christian and Arizona on, also watched another world, love days of our lives, another world, and the doctors at the time. Where can we find old episodes of another world? Are they available on any network of any type, I know it’s old, but those people were kind of part of my history, along with my mother, and my grandma, and a few siblings, we all watched at 3 PM every day,

Who was the original Amanda Cory.
And who grew as an actress in the role to have charecteristics like bev McKinsey but qualities like Colleen zenk too with simalareties to melenie Smith from when she played Emily Stewart. And Alan when Sandra as Amanda Cory slapped someone like evan bates when Charles grant was in the role she was fierce like Colleen or bev McKinsey or the way she went after Olivia Matthew's with the dumb olivia Mathews saying Sam fowler was the dad when Dennis Carrington was really the dad
And was Amanda Cory to me.
So here is an interesting fact about Sandra to fill in some of what kale brown was talking about when Ellen wheeler left.
And the one actress was not working out.
Sandra actually auditioned for the role of Vicky against Anne heche for the role of Vicky.
About 4 months before she got cast as Amanda Cory.
And Alan I always thought that when Sandra played Amanda Cory that they played her charecter too light and after Robert Kelker Kelly left as Sam fowler they never found an actor closer to her own age or the right actor to take over the part. And Alan sometimes I think they should have had evan bates kill Sam fowlor back in 1990 when Robert left the role. And just played that whole story differently. And just let Sandra go so she could have gone to atwt when melenie left to take over the part of Emily Stewart.
Also concerning Christine tucci she is a great person and a fine actress but when Sandra left in 1993 before coming back in 1998. The charecter should have stayed out of town working in her marriage with Sam.
And should have waited 6 months and had Christine tucci
Take over the part of Lorna from Alicia copola and instead had Robin Christopher either play a recast jossie watts or Olivia Matthew's.
And Alan when kale was talking about a, son Micheal and Donna had I think he was talking about when Philiece sampler was playing the part and when Donna miscarried their child after Donna's father Reginald love kidnapped Donna.
And she got injured. Which was 1988.
Also Anna's Donna always called Vicky Victoria.
While Philiece's Donna just called Vicky Vicky.
Now to Robert Kelker Kelly coming back. And Frankie getting killed that's was a harding Lemay margeret depriest decision.
As by that point Jill had so maligned aligned the show Ken Fitts brought harding Lemay back with margeret depriest so Jill was telling you the truth that was not her decision.
As for Robert coming back the original plan was that Robert was only supposed to play the other charecter for 6 months then start playing Sam fowler again. As Sandra was supposed to originally return around March of 1997 as she I think was still filming episodes of renegade back in 1996.
But when Mary Alice dwyer dobbin came in and Ken Fitts got fired that got all messed up as instead of Paul Rauch coming back as ep to replace Jill which was planned even when ken Fitts was there.
He was sent to guiding light instead and charlotte savits was brought in who was worse than Jill VS maybe instead sending Chris goutman back to aw where he had worked back in 1988.
And Alan I am absolutely convinced had Paul Rauch been back at aw to replace Jill aw would have never been canceled and would have listened to harding Lemay and margeret depriest.
Remember Paul Rauch and harding Lemay were the ones who brought aw really high ratings.
Now back to what happened instead harding Lemay said I am out as creative consultant and Charlotte fired margeret depriest and brought Micheal Malone in who knew nothing about the show and decided to turn Bobby reno into Shane Robert's with Robert Kelker Kelly recast Amanda Cory again.
Only to bomb out and Sandra finnaly returning which happened after she did a stint as Brooke on b and b filing in during Katherine Kelly langs maternity leave and then had a part on sunset beach as jade the jewel thief.
And it was then she returned with Richard culliton as headwriter but because Robert was not there as Sam fowler I did not work in saving the show.
For which Sandra discussed in 2005.
In a sod interview when she was filling in for Kristina Wagner as Felicia at gh which was the one part she was not right for.

Sorry to comment again but I think it is important Alan you have a sense of aw as it was a sister show to guiding light and atwt.
Also Alan in case I did not say it before aw was actually intended for CBS originally along with guiding light and atwt. But back in 1964 CBS could not fit the show into its daytime schedule and that's how it ended up on NBC.
Also Alan, the Cory pool was an actaul pool that was built in the 1930s at the Brooklyn studio.
For movies.
For which Robert Kelker Kelly talked about in an interview back in 2013.
I will also say this I think Doug watsons death had a huge impact on the cast including Robert Kelker Kelly.
And others.
as Robert Kelker Kelly said years later Doug Watson.
Was in I think julios ceaser with marlon Brando and felt threatened by him as Doug Watson almost upstaged him.
I will also say this I think it was totally stupid to throw out a year to 15 months of storyline right after Doug Watson died.
As Alice barret was telling you.
Because that's when the stupidity started concerning Sam Amanda and evan bates amongst many other storylines.
Just looking just plain sloppy or not making sense.
I think the right move back at the time would have been to have asked Charles Keating to have stepped into the role of Mac Cory.
For maybe 6 months to a year.
Then had evan bates kill Mac or something like that.
I am bringing it up because sometimes it's okay to have another experienced actor like a Charles Keating step into an iconic role if it means bringing stability to storyline and keeps it going.
And Alan think about that so I will use guiding light and Chris bernough and I may have the last name spelled wrong.
And Alan Spaulding when he died unexpectededately it was okay to have the other actor before Ron Raines step into the role for 6 months the mistake was instead of sending Alan Spaulding to jail Alan should have died off camera in a plane crash or something.
Because it robbed the cast and viewers the opportunity to mourn cris bernoughs death.
Same with Micheal David Morrisons death at atwt.
And Alan nothing of course against Ron Raines.
But that was not right how it was handled with not killing Alan Spaulding off in 1989.
And I am only bringing it up because of Doug watsons death because how that was handed was sloppy too.
And it showed in the storylines after his death.
Including Frankie and Cass.
I mean I said it before but Cass belonged with Kathleen and aw missed a huge opportunity by not doing a Ryan Frankie pairing between Alice Barrett and Paul Micheal valley.
And it still makes me mad to this day how aw handled that in 1991.
But back then I never really got to see Cass and Kathleen just like Robert Kelker Kelly but now that I have seen those earlier episodes
I guess I have come down with a strong case of punch out and beat up the headwriter syndrome along with the executive producer syndrome.
