4:52 freeze the frame. You can see the grenade in the sky, coming from behind the UA soldier. It was definitely friendly fire. Was extremely close, UA soldier most likely has shrapnel injuries at that range. The other UA soldier who was even closer to the blast could very well be dead, though it does look like there's some movement from his position in the last few seconds of video. Hopefully they both made it.

The Ukrainians used “Shock and Awe” attack on the Russian trench line. They used fast moving wheeled Humvees, instead of tracked APCs or IFVs, to quickly cover open ground quicker right up to the Russian trench line without having any preparatory mortar or artillery fire to suppress the Russian fire in the open field and warn them of an attack.
That wasn't shock in awe.all it was was an assault on a trench. But they didn't take the trench they always stop before and the 50s on the hummvs stopped shooting. They are partially aggressive.
@@willthorson4543 Using lightly armored Humvees driving across an open field to an entrench enemy is more than an assault. An assault would have been firing mortar and artillery to keep the enemy heads down in the trenches as you brought dismounted troops.

I agree with you, but Ukrainian soldiers ( and in this case obviously not Ukrainians ) are not fighting for their motherland, they are simply forced to execute what's being told from the Washington D.C. to the American puppets sitting in Kiev. You simply don't understand the real reasons why this conflict even started at the first place. Russia is simply conducting the inevitable and justifiable conter-measures in order not to let the ruling elites of the United States realize their global geopolitical goals in this region of the world. And it has nothing to do with Ukraine itself or its people, it's simply the geographical position of this country relative to the borders of Russia. And it's only a global geopolitics put into action by the United States only in this case ( of course with some help from their European bootlicking satellites ) that triggered this conflict, and only the United States and its insatiable appetite for global domination is to blame for this ongoing bloodshed.
Russia is simply acting in a defensive manner in order not to let undermine the established balance of strategic nuclear weapons between two superpowers that if achieved by the US could put a world to a verge of starting the World War III.
So as it has so often been in the glorious Russian history, Russia once again has come to save the world from that crawling plague!!!

In this type of raid, they need grenade launchers on some of these humvees so they can drop them into trench lines to avoid the "last leggers"who may be ducking and then take a Ukrainian soldier out before being killed himself.

They needed to keep up momentum once exiting the vehicles. Throw grenades and push whilst the vehicles provide cover. This got bogged down. There's a reason Brecourt Manor assault from WW2 is still taught a West Point.

It is interesting that the Humvees are finally being used in the theater they were originally designed for.
Assaulting trench is a difficult task to tackle and no cover. Enemies were concealed and ready to engage attacker at any moment. Really brave Ukrainian warriors!

Is it just me, or does it seem like the dearth of Ukrainian counter-offensive footage was playing into the hands of pro-Russian bloggers, so it appears we are now seeing the volume start to return. Propaganda doesn't like silence.
