A great interview. Well done Pit-Stop. A fabulous looking SUV and not overtly too big either. I can't wait to see this Duster in the UK, especially the automatic hybrid version. Previous versions of the Duster have proved very popular here in Northern Ireland.
Chief Engineer talking design bullshit would have been the right headline. Why does the french Renault people think they can do anything better than the romanian Duster team? I would NEVER consider to buy a Renault. Yes, the AWD car looks better but the very old drive train technology is the same like before, transfered to the CMD platform and wrapped in a nice looking shape. With an engin lost one cyclinder, has 20Nm less torque, 20PS less power but costs now ~2.500€UR more. B.t.w.: the gear ratio is NOT shorter 😡, its 100% the same gearbox as it was for >10 years. Maybe somebody should tell him...😂 So, where is the progress? I own a 2023 TCE150 4x4 and will keep it until it fells apart. I call it a good-enough-offroadable car for an affordable price. Not more, not less.
Great presentation of the Duster, only it has a few flaws. Six years ago, I bought a fully equipped Duster 1.5 dci 4x4 for about €21,000. now the same thing costs €25,000, even with a three-cylinder engine, but ugh.
All prices go up, it’s normal.. in 6 years from 21 ke to 25 ke it means like 3.2 % per year.. which.. seems normal.. and some things are totally improved (so cost is bigger).
The shock of the economy...as example in Romania the price of a KW/H increase from 0.6 euro to 0.19 which is a huge price in only few time...Also the special metals due Taiwan issue with China, had an exponential increase, the salary level increase 2 times in last 3 years...moving things mean fuel consumption and we go from 1.17 euro per liter to 1.9 (in 2022 a full tank costs me arround 50 euro now is 80) I think this happend in whole world...even other car brands increase prices,of course just "salary" doesnt become expensive meanwhile.
I am a Dacia customer but no way I will buy a Hybrid version that is as expensive as the Arkana or Suzuky Vitara. Renaults get 5 star safety rating with 96% adult protection vs 70% Dacia. If you price it like Renault make it just as safe!.
in general I like Pit-stop reviews....but, boy, this ""chief engineer explains" really annoys me.....surprising to hear him being involved in Logan's creation 15 years ago.....what the evolution has brought us ???? ...."cool looks" at the expense of everything they put together in terms of usability, practicality and very decent pricing......it's all gone now.....very soon we will surely start to see criticism on the technical solutions (or better, lack off) in terms of underbody (no antirust protection, textile padding instead of metal ones...etc.etc...).....I truly hope my 4x4 2018 dci 110 will stay healthy and will drive it happily until it will be possible (now at 170 000 km)....but than, it is over with Duster as such (btw, it was the highest trim available at the time and I spent exactly 20000 eur on this perfect car (added bonus, no AdBlue installed 🥰).......never in my life will I own such a beautiful and capable car 😑
Ich bin endtäuscht das der 1,6 Hybrid kein Allrad hat😢. Deswegen lieber einen Jeep Renagade 😊 oder Ähnliches.. Nett ist er ja aber trotzdem eine Rostlaube😢
Dacia is developing the 1.2 engine to take LPG as well, so the UK might get that version directly when it's ready. And that 1.2 LPG engine will replace the 1.0 LPG on the Duster.
I looked at the s-cross too, but I don't think it has the same ground clearance and overall off-road ability as the Duster? I suppose it depends on what you want to use it for.
I wish Dacia would make a 4x4 full hybrid automatic. Unfortunately they don’t, even though on their website and press material they proudly state 4X4 HYBRID 140HP.
The wording it terrible on their website, I agree, however I believe(according to the many rumors) that they are developing a 1.8 hybrid engine with 4x4 possibility, but with an electric motor in the rear, not a drive shaft. I think it will premiere in the Bigster, bound to be presented in October 2024, and we can only hope it will be available in this Duster as well.
If you think it is "way overpriced" - why are you watching and commenting several videos from Duster? Watch Suzuki Scross videos instead... I don't get it. In my opinion it is not overpriced. And I have driven the Hybrid 140 and the Tce 130. Great cars with great value.

Congratulations for this beautiful duster🎉🎉🎉👌👌👍
This thing looks stunning.
Great review, love the technical details
Glad you liked it!

You're right about the Arkana but the Vitara is an 11 years old crap.

Why 3 pistons engine on a 4x4 off-road car ? This is my biggest let down.

Why didnt you add overlays of what the chief engineer was talking about? Would have been much more engaging to look...
Is there going to be full hybrid 4x4 version with automatic and adaptive cruise control?
Hoping UK version brings 110BHP 1L as i read Dacia not selling LPG to the UK as no market for LPG in the UK.
All 1000cc engines are now 130hp.

@@sebastianstoica578 Dacia has said stopping LPG sales in UK market.
@@paulmitchell243123, I missed that news. Thank you. It is sad. I know some LPG stations are closing in UK.
@@sebastianstoica578 I haven't seen LPG for over 10 years it really never took off in the first place.
Menudo estilo que tiene el Duster es precioso han dado en el clavo a mi personalmente lo encuentro entre los coches mas bonitos un muy gran acierto ❤❤
I would buy suzuki scross over this in a instans. Way way overpriced duster. Only people who would buy this is Duster fanatics
😲Literally just looked at an S cross video 2 mins ago, test drove one last year and is very good so still comparing!

Another brand we can’t get in the US. 😢
You update the design...and downgrade the engine...but asking for more money...
Well Done D A C I A
Dear chiefengineer, why new Duster has adult occupants safety rating only 70% ? And brown color on dummy's chest ???

🫶DC DUSTER 👍😎
Nice looking Suv. I just wished it was called Renault Duster (likeit in most non european countries) and not Dacia (horrible brand name) Duster.
Never the less it's way overpriced for brand as Dacia. Way way overpriced

Great car ... For that kind of money - this is the best car on this planet. 🚙👍🚀🛸💪
