- Five Years ago The Silence, A Subnautica Fan Created Leviathan came to life on paper. Today it's here and available for EVERYONE to use!! It's the most advanced Leviathan ever added to Subnautica with an ability to go invisible and ability to use SOUND (Or remove said sound) to hear where you are! The Silence was my most terrifying experience, For any of you who've watched my videos in the past, You KNOW my voice NEVER shakes like that LOL, It was maximum pucker factor all the way. The silence for no reason gives me vibes that it toys around with you and it actually is right next to you all the time but you don’t realize it’s there.
Another creepy one is the lurker leviathan.
This smart creature waits for you to come past it. It then begins following you, staying just outside your view. It follows you all the way home and then kills you and destroys your base

The sonar attracts the silence since it’s just high pitched noise.

The fear of The Silence is that, in most cases of Thalassophobia.. most of us hate the idea of something large being unseen in the light-sucking depths of the ocean's waters. Something being able to loom beneath us, behind us, without us even knowing.
Most creatures in Subnautica roar, growl, emit shrill shrieks, clicks, but not this. It's silent, and more than silent- it removes all sound from your senses, which leaves you feeling empty. You've gone deaf. It's a terrifying feeling even without Thalassophobia.
What's more.. it can vanish, right beside you. No bioluminescence necessary.
I despise deep water, and this comment makes it SO MUCH WORSE 😂😂😂😂
What makes it even more terrifying is that it hunts via canceling out all ambient sounds around it, and finding you based off the sound YOU generate within that silent radius. As it only gets out of being transparent and makes noise within like 50 feet of you

The pure terror that Anthomnia had just shows how much scarier this leviathan is compared to the other creatures including mod creatures like the gargantuan leviathan

I think Garg is terrifying in a different way. The size and noises it makes terrify me. I never really think loud roaring noises are scary but to be able to hear it from so far away at a very high volume under water is terrying. If you were realistically there when it roared even remotely close to you you would die from the vibrations.

Love that it has echo location because that would be a huge asset for it to have in a place like the void where only other creatures can be detected

I’m not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but as I watched other videos of The Silence, I had this realization from it’s ambient noise cancellation. The Silence makes it so quiet that the heartbeat you hear is your own character’s, making it that more unsettling. I heard of a similar effect when someone enters the most quiet room.

@@averagegamer-mx1of, echolocation isn't a form of sight. It's the use of vibrations to hear where everything is, notably prey.
I think it attacked because of the sonar, as it uses loud sound waves, and you probably needed the cyclops on slowest speed
It even increases said sound waves by canceling out all other sound
I like how he didn’t go back down to his storage containers and get the rest of the power cells to replace the other empty ones so he would have enough power to escape and also he didn’t have to turn on the sonar when he was escaping that was kinda his fault that he ran out of power the second time
I really love it’s design especially when it attacks and becomes bioluminescent it looks like some super species of the reaper and ghost leviathan

Imagine you in the deep dark of the submarine, you can't hear the sound or see the glimpse of anything but you can feel the water around you move and push your submarine.

This reminds me if the scariest ai. Most ai will try to act smart, but the smartest ai will act dumb and unassuming
I love that it cant see what so ever. It uses sound to find the general area of where something is and then it feels around to "see" where its prey is. The sonar btw does make noise and the only way to stop it from noticing you is to run at the slowest speed possible on silent running mode. Decoys also make lots of noise so you can use those to get away.
Pretty much every creature in the void (call of the void) has some slight intelligence or strange behavior.
Can't wait to see the new mechanical spider when it comes out.

I assumed the Launch 2025 thing isn't for the full game but for early access since subnautica games are always first released as early access and still in development it could be considered launch
dear anthomnia, after playing this game for a while how would you not know how sonars work. so ill explain it for you. sonars work by emiting a pulse of sounds and when an object, it produces an echo to the sonar. so ye when you used sonar you were just basically just telling the silence where you were. also the fact that you didnt go to low speed is another thing
oh im sure he realized that at some point, but fear is a hell of a distraction and youtubers have to split half their attention on being engaging to an audience, thats why so many of them miss the most obvious shit lol

The reason the silence is so terrifying is that no matter what you do if you enter its range then you're dead since it's too quick to get away from.I had no idea it could camouflage though that's even more scary

Watched the dev vlog before this, and then came to watch this. It was very funny watching you get scared every time the sonar went off.
The reason the decoy didn't work is because you were making so much noise with your radar that The Silence barely even noticed it was there.
I don't think you knew it could track you if you had sonar on, it tracks sound vibrations and sonar is just a type of sound you can use to see which in turn means it can see you via the sonar.

DONT USE SONAR! its just a loud sound thus it attracts the silence and try going slow, it makes much less noise especially with silent running on and it only uses sound and touch when finding prey.

just tried this mod myself before watching this and it was terrifying, when I went to the signal I didn’t encounter the leviathan but the endless darkness and suddenly your engine sound going silent was the most terrifying moment as far as I remember
then your super lucky, how its been coded from what we have been told, the moment when all sound stops. its close, and it knows where you are. since its own echo location cancels out all other noise.
@@rignatetris4435I wouldn't say it "knows" where you are, that deathly silence is just the radius of which it can find its prey via the prey's sounds. Long as you're quiet or make a louder sound else where, you would theoretically be okish. Unless the damn thing grazes you.

I think that this leviathan should be the game’s Boundary Monster- like if you’re brave enough to venture further into than you’re supposed to in the void, your PDA begins to warn you before everything becomes silent and you get attacked.

Hey guys, I really really enjoy this UA-camr and the way his scripts and talking is, and also I love subnautica and videos just like this one, but I really want more- Ik it’s ofc hard to creat these videos having to wait for more news or need things to be added, but does anyone have any other suggestioned UA-camrs who do the same thing this guy does so I can watch both of them without getting sad when the video ends?
