    the ram srt10 is just crazy
    one time i had set the cruise control to 200km/h on the autobahn and suddenly in the mirrors there was a giant red wall with some white stripes closing in on my
    so i left the left lane and shortly after was passed by a ram and it felt like i was standing still
    its already rare to see a ram here in germany, but seeing one on the autobahn passing you while you are doing 200 was just mind boggling

    • @Drunken_Hamster
      @Drunken_Hamster 6 років тому

      "Best"? My stock 05 5.7 Hemi Ram 1500 makes those same numbers. Literally. The SRT Ram would eat the Silverado SS for breakfast. Hell, if they'd just offer the BIG Hemi {6.1/6.4} in the Ram 1500, it would've damn near got close to the SRT-10. Maybe even surpassed it due to weight savings.
      My build is probably just gonna be a mild-moderate cammed 5.7 with reverse flow heads and a single medium twin scroll turbo in the valley set to run 10-15 pounds of boost and make the truck perform like a factory turbo'd vehicle. {{wide powerband, boost from down low, IMPROVED mileage with good driving habits, etc.}}

    • @Drunken_Hamster
      @Drunken_Hamster 6 років тому +1

      Mine isn't modded yet, I don't have an SRT, just a regular 5.7 hemi, and the power to weight on an SRT is 1hp to every 10 pounds of weight, while on the 5.7 Hemi, it's 1hp for every 14.5 pounds.
      On third generation trucks, that is. 4th gen rams had boosts in power due to a better drivetrain, electric cooling fans, and electric power steering instead of hydraulic.

    • @Drunken_Hamster
      @Drunken_Hamster 6 років тому

      You're making a fool of yourself. My 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab SLT HEMI is completely stock aside from a muffler delete. Which does nothing but make it louder. 345HP, 385 ft-lbs of torque. As I said, the same numbers as a Chevy Silverado SS.
      My point was that my NON performance edition truck had the same performance as Chevy's special edition high performance truck, and that if it was an apples to apples comparison of special edition performance variant {srt10, as opposed to 5.7l v8, which matches the Silverado SS} vs special edition performance variant {the Silverado SS}, then the Silverado SS would have NO CHANCE at all.

    I inherited a V10 powered Ford Excursion from my father (the SUV version of the Super Duty, and largest SUV ever made), it wasn't fast, but that V10 was very reliable and certainly sounded different. Didn't drive it much, the body was in bad shape and I ended up selling it as I had little use for it. GMC also made a SUV version of the Syclone called the Typhoon, those trucks are still very popular with tuners because of the turbo V6.

    The newest Ford F-150 Raptor has the same 3.2L twin-turbo ecoboost V6 now, but it's faster, more powerful, more nimble, more *everything* than the previous Raptor that it replaced. It's even more of a beast even though it doesn't have the V8 sound anymore.
    You also forgot about the Ford Ranchero. The El Camino's hot competition. ;)

    • @damilolaakanni
      @damilolaakanni 2 роки тому

      If you're talking about the 2017-2020 Raptors, they all had a 3.5 ecoboost. A 3.2 ecoboost does not exist. The next size down is actually a 3.0 which hasn't been used outside of crossovers...until now.

    Australia does utes. A ute is a passenger car front with a tray on the back, and country boys have seen their 'utility vehicle' as a sportscar for over 50 years.
    The top spec Marloo (holden) is worth a look, as is the XR6 Turbo ute (ford.) They're a good deal lighter than the sedans they come from, but all the weight is removed from behind the driver's seat. What do you think that does to the handling?
    If you can't get sideways in a ute and control it, then you just can't drive...

    The problem with the Toyota Tundra super chargers is that it blows the engine after about four years. My dad had one and after about 90-100k km it blew the motor and by that time the warranty had worn off and it was pretty much just as expensive to get a whole new truck so he did

      CineRaphael no, you're gonna pay out the ass for insurance, plus when something breaks it costs a lot more then it would on a gas truck. Get a quarter ton or a half ton at most, and if you get an old one it will be so easy to work on, plus your insurance will be a lot more manageable for someone your age.
