What is unique with this machine among domestic washers is the full floating door, a feature that most manufacturers will only put on commercial washers nowadays. I personally prefer the full floating door because there is no mechanical tub seal to wear out.
This is normal. The drum is mounted on a separate chassis which allows the machine to spin out of balance and the machine itself will not move. These are fantastic machines I own one!
Hi Raul, The machine was in fact installed by a pro, it's level and standing on a firm, level floor. It's the machine that's all screwed up and that is why I made the video!
Glad for you that your machine works. :) All I know is this Asko was brand new and since it was the second professionally installed Asko to play this trick I knew the game was up, so I returned that shit for good. Now I have a Miele and even though it's a little more expensive the thing works like a dream and it's built like a tank.
I upgraded to the very popular Miele W5825 and I live in an apartment. When the door to the bathroom is closed we barely hear it when it's spinning. Even if the door is open it's no big deal. Compared to the little Asko monster the Miele W5825 is a dream.
Hmmm clearly you got a bad batch - Ive got the 8kg W6864 and on a 1400 rpm rinse, it spins like a dream and the 4 shock absorber legs keeps the drum evenly spinning, quiet and efficient! Love it....
The only Problem that I have with our Asko 6884 ECO Frontloader Washing Machine is : It does not Spin long enough on the 1800 RPM that I bought it for . I am trying to find out if the Factory settings can be changed so that when the machine starts any spinning cycle . At the moment it starts spinning at 1200 RPM for 1.30 Minutes then it goes to 1400 RPM for 3.30 Minutes , then 1600 RPM and 1.30 Minutes and if I am Lucky it goes to 1800 RPM but only spins for 1.30 Minutes also . I want it to spin at 1800 RPM for at least 3.0 Minutes because it spins the washing a lot drier than the other spins . I can't get anyone from Asko to give me a definite answer because they really DO NOT WANT TO DO IT UNDER WARRANTY . That is what it seems when I speak to a Technician . Have any of you ever timed the spin cycle time when it starts to spin , from start of spin to end of last spin ?
Inside the Cabinet supporting the spinning Drum are Four Shock Absorbers . Replace them and your noise will be gone . You can do it yourself to minimise costs for a Technician . Try it . I hope you can read English , my Language . Take the back Panel off and you will see . Be sure to disconnect the machine from the Electricity outlet , remove the plug from the Power Socket before you start . I did my old Asko Front Loader Washing Machine , it is quite easy to do . Do one Shock Absorber at a time . Good Luck .
I purchased my Asko Quattro 6021 over 12 years ago and just today began having issues! I have "babied" it and have forbidden anyone else to touch it so I am the one and only user. Push the "on" button, then "start" and nothing happens, turn it on, off, on, off, start/stop, nothing. Cost me almost $1000, so over 12 years I suppose I got my money's worth but still. Now facing the prospect of possibly having to buy another machine. Don't have time to fiddle around getting a repairman and I've noticed it's faster and cheaper to just buy new, as parts and labor often cost more!!
This is not okay. Sometimes the washing machine shook so violently that it hopped across the floor. Even the certified washing machine installer said the machine was a dud.
This is not the door shaking, it's the drum shaking and it's unacceptable. It's very noisy not only for me, but also for the neighbors. It's dangerous too and you can't have anything standing on top of the machine. In fact, on several occasions this little monster shook so much it hopped across the floor.
Having worked for Asko as technical manager in my past years , you have an issue with the suspension. These machines are rock solid in design, however it appears your front suspension may be defective allowing the drum to move too much.
Interesting to hear from an Asko technician. I was the most unlucky customer the kitchen appliance store ever had. Ever. The first Asko that the store delivered is the one in the video. It was quickly returned as defective. The second Asko leaked from the bottom. It too was returned to the store. So now the store sends a Miele instead with no extra charge. It was a used machine! So they came and fixed that too. It was crazy. 🤪
I had an issue with mine leaking water from the detergent drawer since new. Nothing wrong with the drawer that I could see, so likely manufacturing flaw. Anyone else with this issue?
Rodger Sleurink Tip for your Miele: choose the "extra water" option. Because the Miele line-up of washing machines is extremely efficient with water, soap residues will not get flushed well. Siemens machines do use more water, and therefore clean better. It will only cost about 5 euros extra a year (that extra water option), but your machine and clothes will last longer, and will be fresher.
Wow, they must've installed a batch of busted or ungassed shocks for it to be that bad! My Asko is about 8 years old and even filled with towels, it doesn't ever shake that badly!
She's' spinnning, but the spin isn't out of control. In fact the body is completely stable. By sure the load is unblalanced and so the tub is oscillating a lot to equilibrate the rotating load, because the sollicitation is very large. The noise seems caused by the unavoidable micro-vibrations of the body: may be the body is forced into the cavity between the bathtub and the lateral wall?
Interesting reply, however, the load was nothing other than a few light rags and nothing that would justify this scene. The machine went nuts no matter how much or little was being washed. I got it replaced free of charge and good riddance. I switched to Miele and all is good. Later, I discovered that many other Asko owners have had this problem.
When the load is small, and it's capable to absorb a lot of water, the unbalance can occur, also if you have a Miele (personal experience). Because you have a little concentrated weight which cannot well distributed, and so you cannot have the dynamic balance.I 've aobserved the same phenomenon on a Miele W1523 spinning at 1300 rpm, for the reason above exposed. I repeat the spin you showed here isn't out of control: if out of control the machine should lift up and down continuously (the carbody). When a washing machine is spinning out of control means that the imnstablility limit is exceeded: Isn't this case. When instable the damping isn't enough, so the damper is completely rigid because thesollicitations are enormous, and the ealstic system cannot absorb them: when this situation occurs the washing machine appear a xocompletely rigid body (external structure + tub + dampers). Here the dampers are working well because they are moving, and so they absorb the sollicitation coming from the tub. If you observe your Miele you can see the tub oscillating a lot, but the door isn't fixed to the tub but to the external body (and tub and body are connected trhrough an elastic rubber ring). So on a Miele the dorro is not oscillating because she's fixed to the body, on a Asko the door is oscillating because fixed to the tub and oscillates with the tub himself.
UA-cams asko to find out why some cost almost three times that of other machines that hold the same and i still havent found evidence to show asko machines being almost three times better than others
There's clearly something wrong with it... a modern machine wouldn't allow such an unbalanced load to go into spin. Have it checked before the warranty expires... unless it already has! Good luck.
Try it with a more balanced load, also don't forget that the asko machines have their drum doors fixed directly onto the drum hence why the door shakes alot whilst the machine is spinning
The load consisted of a half-full wash with small and medium sized rags. I also tried full loads of clothes. I have in fact tried every kind of load and this performance happened regardless. When a machine acts like this it's basically just not fit for the job. End of story.
Spiders, drums and mold? : ) This is a brand new machine and I don't give a hoot what the diagnosis is. As a customer I expect a machine that works and doesn't scare me, the kids and neighbors with its clank, clank, clank, clank, clank! The store took it back immediately when they saw all that action.

You can't solve the vibration as you call it. Better to return the machine to the store and get another brand altogether.

That looks fine to me. All of my Asko machines behave like this. The centre is different to the cabinet so its ok for the centre to spin unbalanced
