Thanks Kevin! I suspect a top layer of sand has recently moved, there’s no way that plate could’ve been so shallow for long as it doesn’t have the abrasion marks I’d expect from tidal movement of sand back and forth. I think we were very, very lucky to have caught the right conditions at the right time. Cheers 😊
Wow, great finds and some nice history, too! But I have to say your comment about how bad you look after you've been in the water: There's no way you could ever look bad. You're beautiful.
Great find Mish with the 18k, Ed has certainly got that Deus 2 dailed in underwater aswell, I have a Legend that I have nearly paid for with my beach finds, now im looking at a Deus 2. Awsome machine from what ive seen on you tube from you guys and Michael Oliver, great hunt well done.
It was great to watch Ed at work, he has years more water experience than I do. I love the Legend for grab-and-go at the beach but the Deus 2 is a brilliant machine, a steeper learning curve than most but the default modes will definitely get results. There’s lots of different ways to package it these days but I recommend getting the remote version and also the bone conduction headphones for underwater use (SO much clearer than waterproof ear cup headsets!). 9” or 11” coil will come down to personal preference - I enjoy the 9 for what I do. Cheers mate. 😊
Thanks for the suggestion! I prefer not to store items on or underneath the Nemo, given that it is supplying my air. It wasn’t too bad detecting with the plate, I’d just pop it down when digging a target. It was found near the end of my first dive anyway. 😊 Cheers!
You and the team had a great day detecting. Love the gold ring with the green gem! Would really love to do this one day! But for now will watch you : )
Thank you, Pam! I love that ring as well, the buildup of gunk and leaching of copper from the alloy suggests it has been gone for quite some time. I am restoring it. 😊 The good news is that you don’t need thousands of dollars of gear, or even a detector to start with this sort of hunting - grab a snorkel and start looking for areas like in my other recent underwater hunt video (loose rocks on bedrock), you can simply move the rocks to see what’s on the bedrock underneath. Be mindful of crabs, octopus etc as you forage though! 🦀
Thank you so much! Water hunting is fun - it takes a while to get used to moving with the tidal surge, but it can be very rewarding under the right conditions too. Let me know how you go. Cheers 😁
Thanks so much Ed. I wish all hunts were this spectacular but nonetheless, I look forward to detecting my own beaches and parks for coffee money again soon. 😁
We were shocked! The boys have found gold in the region before, but as you know that’s not a regular occurrence. The sand was apparently looking different to the last inspection and this we likely got lucky with some sand movement on the day. Cheers mate 😊

I think you may have paid for the trip with the rings, and im guessing your back in victoria and dressed up for the cold Brrr! ... I was wondering how you rate that coast for finds compared to your local haunts, it seemed to be a bit more giving, and has it wet your appetite to return there in the future, I hope you had a lot of fun, I know i enjoyed being there, though sitting on my couch. Cheers Mish, see you on your next adventure!

Yep, back in Victoria now, the water is much colder here as you could well imagine. 😂 It was definitely a numbers game - this was a high-population area by comparison to my own coast, therefore there was naturally much more to find. I would very much love to have beaches like this within driving distance, however it’s hard to beat having a stunning regional coastline to yourself when hunting. 😊 Catch you on the next one mate.
Hi Don't know how i missed this one but glad I found it. WoW what a dive/hunt the combined rings were fantastic. Sorry Guys Mish wins because she had the Antique bottle and rings. Thanks for the guests and video. 💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍👍👍👍
I was giddy after that hunt, yes I had luck on that one underwater hunt back home in recent months but otherwise I’ve never really pulled multiple gold!! The bottle is my favourite, though - it’s something super unique and special for my collection. I called it my tourist souvenir. 😂 Cheers Roy!
Great hunt and video Mish, I found my first 18k ring a few weeks ago with a pulse dive (although not as chunky as yours), it's a great feeling isn't it.
That’s awesome Greg!! I bet you had quite the shock given that the PulseDive doesn’t give you any sort of heads-up as to what type of target you’re digging in advance. Kurtle in this video just uses a PulseDive, he’s an absolute machine with it. Congratulations! 😊💍
@@DirtFishMish yes big suprise, the area where I found it is riddled with sinkers, it was in the same hole as one, when I was fanning out the rocks and sand it flew out and at first I couldn't believe my eyes. I've followed Kurtle for a while and agree, he's got it down to a tee. I might have to get a Nemo, they look awesome. Cheers
@@gregevery1891 they’re a lot of fun!! The shorter hose is definitely better for detecting the shallow treasure zones such as this (I have the Nomad as well which goes to 9M instead of the Nemo’s 3M, but it’s too much hose for detecting a populated area in the shallows). I find a battery lasts me around 1.5hrs on average but sometimes up to 2. Detect-Ed stock them, that’s where I got mine 😊 collabs.shop/c31mad
Great tip with the ring carabiner. I am thinking of buying the Nokia Pulse Dive, and the Nemo BLU3 for under water detecting, or do you think a more serious detector is required?
Thanks Mark! Ooh, sounds like you're in for a bit of fun! The PulseDive is a serious detector, but bear in mind it will give one tone for any type of metal - you won't know iron from non-ferrous metal. However... it's a LOT easier to manage in conjunction with a Nemo. I would say if you're hunting an area with obvious bedrock or where the targets likely won't be super deep, a PulseDive will do the job. A full size detector will have more audio information and punch deeper but you're going to be dealing with more weight, and more cables, therefore more risk as a diver. Perhaps start with the PulseDive, see how you go, and if you end up with a full detector then the PulseDive can serve as a pinpointer (the pinpointer head is included in the 2-in-1 kit, or you can buy it separately later on as a modular piece!). In my video description, click on @TreasureAdventure or @thekurtleman to check out their channels for some PulseDive inspiration. Cheers!
@@DirtFishMish was just going to use it at sandy local beaches.I have a gold detector Minelab SDC2300, but live about 3 hours from the gold fields, so I think I will get more use from this set up. Thanks for all your content that you share. You inspire us to get out there.
Old Pepsi confirmed, thanks for that Woody! I’m back in my home state now, still a few fun adventures up my sleeve but I’ll be sprinkling the home turf back in the mix again soon. Cheers mate. 😁
Thank you! I don’t sell my finds, I’d like to think that someday I’ll have the right conversation to get a sentimental item back to it’s owner. The adventures are funded by a combination of viewers like yourself watching the videos (advertising revenue from Google), affiliate sales when people use my links to buy the products I use, and on rare occasions a brand will help me out in exchange for a mention - the last one is rare, because I only partner with folks that produce products I genuinely think will benefit my viewers. I turn down a lot of others! 😂 I’ll make a video on the topic at some stage. Have a lovely weekend 😊
Hi Mish amazing video, the guys were great diving partners for you. Any idea why there was so many rings in the same area, could it be the current or tides that one is a mystery to me. Thanks and love from Florida USA
Hi David! Great question - I’m not familiar with the typical conditions of the area, but the general population plays a big part - it was a highly frequented beach in an area that has been populated for well over a century, so there’s simply more opportunities for items to go missing. The boys did note that the underwater erosion was particularly good that day and that it was also not typically that calm. Last of all, luck is always a factor when it’s not a recovery mission - we just happened to swing over the right spots at the right time. 😊 Cheers!!
I can relate to that sentiment! I always try to get in an intro BEFORE the dive because long hair and diving really don’t go well together, I look like a wreck afterwards. 😂
That’s so true! The GoPro battery only lasts an hour, often less in my cold oceans so I have to be really selective of when to turn it on. Gold ring IDs can vary so much that you never truly know if it’s gold until it is dug. So if I ever find one without the camera rolling, I do try to turn the camera on before I’ve seen the ring properly so we can at least share in that excitement! Cheers mate. 😊
@@MrBubbles.. if you store it in a cool place it might be ok. Just don’t leave it in hot car, etc. The choice is up to you, I’m just explaining the difference in the plugs. 😊
Thank you! This particular dive averaged 1-2M (3-7ft) depth, so not too deep. Most folks will lose their items in the first few metres of water, however if there's been significant coastal erosion or tidal movement they might spread further. Headphones - yes, absolutely, most external detector speakers aren't designed to transmit well underwater, the water pressure prevents the speaker from operating to it's full potential. The Deus II has bone conduction earphones which are quite amazing underwater. Cheers :)
What are you using for headphones? I'm looking for a set for use in and out of water so when I'm wading chest deep. Everything I've heard about bone conduction headphones they are extremely loud out of water
I'm using the XP bone conduction headphones underwater, and they are really great for that purpose though I do wish they had a spiralised cable so it didn't hang so loosely while diving. Volume and pitch is adjustable on the machine, so people would be able to adjust them for land use (I prefer a wireless and more immersive headset when on land for comfort). :)
Hi Phoebe, in all fairness this was recorded several hours after our 4+ hours of diving, all three of us were exhausted and I was struggling with even the simplest of words by that stage of the evening! We had to film late at night as half of us were back on the road by 6am the next day. Thank you for watching. 😊
Thanks for creating crowds of people for your clout chasing . All detectorists appreciate youtube hero's for putting pressure on the detecting community via idiots who watch your videos and create trouble because they have zero respect for non detectorists . well done Hero !
Hi there Andy, if you could please let me know what has you concerned in particular I’d really appreciate it! I started out on UA-cam a few years ago, mid-pandemic, as metal detecting was my mental health activity and I wanted to share the joy and peace it brought me with others. I typically detect rural and remote areas - it is only recently that I’ve had the luxury of travelling to detect places I never previously would’ve had the chance to visit, this area easily had 100+ years more history than anywhere I could detect back home. I’ve done my best over the years to share stories of responsible detecting, leaving places cleaner than when I arrived, removing rubbish, respecting the privacy of others and also showing the realities of the hobby as I go. A couple of videos ago I came home with $3.50 or so and a handful of trash. 😊 Anyhow, no hard feelings from me as I’m too old to worry about chasing any clout, I’m happy enough if the adventures I share bring smiles to people’s faces and I’m so proud of the wonderful community of detectorists I have here. I hope you have a lovely weekend. Happy hunting 😊
@@DirtFishMish The simple fact is that youtube clout chasing inspires hoards of new chums intothe fields and they are absolutely destroying our abiltiy to have legal access to said areas . I wont go into my background because i know the nature of prospecting and information . UA-cam clout chasers are vandals to the cause . So im sorry you didnt think about this which informs me of your experience. Have no wealth draw no thieves- Lao Tzu
And this is why I try to make a point of regularly mentioning filling in holes, taking all trash and respecting the environment - as well as ensuring one is detecting in permitted areas to do so. There is absolutely a responsibility when on social media to model such behaviours for those picking up prospecting / detecting as a hobby. I actually completely agree with you that some can demonstrate really poor examples leading to horrendous and disrespectful behaviour, and I feel in this case you may have picked the wrong person to target with such frustrations. Speaking of prospecting, if you are coming to the prospector’s expo in Bendigo this month I’d be more than happy to hear your concerns there. 😊 All the best for your adventures.
@@DirtFishMish You dont seem like a reckless person Mish , but reality is what it is and unfortunately many weekend warriors are just trouble for everyone . I also dont understand why you would want to increase traffic on the fields for yourself and others other than the reason i mentioned, and no , having been in the business of detecting in a number areas for years i dont hang around those places. You've heard my concerns your life is your own , enjoy the clout while the stars are in your eyes.
@@andysparks1973 thanks for the respectful discussion on the topic, I really do appreciate that you are taking the time to respond. 😊 It is always a double-edged sword - I value privacy and solitude when out on the fields as well, but I also know that the hobby had a profound positive effect on my mental health and if I can bring others back from a place of darkness then that’s a win for me. People will be attracted to the hobby in all manner of ways - the announcement of the lucky strike nugget will have far more of an impact than my small channel. As far as ‘clout’ goes (I dislike that word immensely!), I’ve never really pushed for followers or even asked people to subscribe much at all, it has grown organically over the years that I have been taking people on my journeys. I’m knocking on the door of my 40’s now so I’m simply happy to be able to pay the bills, put food on the table for my family and it so happens that sharing my real adventures does just that. Thank you again for a respectful chat, you seem a reasonable bloke yourself. Health and happiness to you. 😊

BOTTLE LOOKED OLD PEPSI. MISH, YOUR FACE IS ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL, GIRL! SMILING EYES! GO GET THAT GOLD, GAL!!!
Old Pepsi confirmed, thanks for that Woody! I’m back in my home state now, still a few fun adventures up my sleeve but I’ll be sprinkling the home turf back in the mix again soon. Cheers mate. 😁
Hi mish great video, just curious do you cash in you finds to cover some of your costs or just keep them..🤔
Have a lovely weekend 😊
what tones are you using 2 tones or full tones ?
Typically 4 or 5 tones!
😊 Cheers!!
Sorry i missed the intro but there was treasure to be found hahaha 🤣
I can relate to that sentiment! I always try to get in an intro BEFORE the dive because long hair and diving really don’t go well together, I look like a wreck afterwards. 😂
Haha live digs with gold targets are so hard to come by
That’s so true!
@@DirtFishMish after a year the blue batteries randomly fail with 65% life left. I'm upgrading to all white batteries.
do you guys remove the red cap behind the main unit after each dive ? should i remove it ?
The red cap doesn't allow for release of expanding air pressure, so yes, swap back to the grey cap when on land and once the detector is dry. :)
@@DirtFishMish do i have to do this everytime ? i only metal detect underwater and 3-5 times a week sometimes everyday
@@MrBubbles.. if you store it in a cool place it might be ok. Just don’t leave it in hot car, etc. The choice is up to you, I’m just explaining the difference in the plugs. 😊
@@DirtFishMish i store it in my room its usually arround 20-25 celcius degrees during summer not direct sunlight
Nice finds and videos! I have 2 questions. How deep you dive for these finds and do you use headphones?
Coffee money too😂
Yep! Katelyn was on coffee duty between dives, she did an amazing job looking after us. 😁
Call bottle is a Pepsi bottle old school 1960s and 70s
Thanks for the ID!
Fan-tabulous!
Thanks Jeff! 😊
Whoa! I’m first! 😊
Who's typing on the old IBM selectric typewriter? 😂
That gave me secretarial flashbacks!! 😂
2:57 old Coca-Cola?
Turns out that it was a Pepsi bottle, 1960’s or so! 😊

DirtFishMish AKA 'SinkerGirl' LOL. Lose your 'valuable' sinker, call SinkerGirl to the rescue.
I’d wear a cape, but it might get tangled in all the diving gear! 😆
That's a pepsi
Great ID, thanks for that! I love it.
'Jesus Pendant'.....? I think you mean a crucifix.
Anyhow, no hard feelings from me as I’m too old to worry about chasing any clout, I’m happy enough if the adventures I share bring smiles to people’s faces and I’m so proud of the wonderful community of detectorists I have here.
All the best for your adventures.
Your face would be pretty anytime
