one thing: when transforming it back into vehicle mode, ive found that if you aim the front grill down as you slide it back (so that the whole unit is at an angle), it slides in very easily with minimal force needed!
I am glad you mentioned the plastic. I might be wrong, but this seems like hasbro is using this on the newer figure to cut cost. It seems to be in some of the newer figures. I thought I was the only one that noticed it.
Ive had my Battletrap for a few days, and I abolutly love him. Up there in my top favorites ever for Studio Series. Though, I cant stand the roof, it feels awful to have to apply that much force to it. Once you started talking about the plastic quality, I began to notice it too. The grey plastic feels slick, like its meant to bend but doesnt, its an odd feeling. I dont want to say he "feels cheap" but they deffiently used a new kind of plastic on him and didnt say anything about it.
I just got one today, its amazing. Anyone whos reading this, i would definetly recomend it. I've owned like 4 studio series figures and its the best out of them.
5:57 am I the only one who sees the anime blushing face? those read lines SERIOUSLY look like the kind of effect they put on an anime character when their crush flirts with them
I do have to say it looks good in bot mode. But the wheels don't align in truck mode and that's a big pet peeve of mine. So I'd say it's got QC issues.
Battletrap has been my favourite Rise of the Beasts figure since the line was revealed. It’s phenomenal and has to be one of the best movie designs. The different feel of the plastic is interesting and concerning though.
I could totally see Battletrap running Scraphook over and ripping him apart for a weaponizer load out. That would make a killer stop motion video in fact.
If only this guy was road trap instead. And leater in the line would be released another figure that is battle Slash and then they would have a combined mode that is battletrap (i still love the power of the primes battletrap figure/figures soooooo much❤)
I was looking forward to this guy, but at that price point and with such cheapening out with the plastic I might just wait until I can get him at a discount.
Is the plastic like SS bumblebee movie prime plastic? Cuz it sounds like how I feel about that figure's plastic. Love the figure to death, but handling it feels too soft and different.
I haven’t gotten him big I’m thinking to get this guy but I feel the same what you are feeling there’s something about battletrap that I’m not sure what it is and it’s making me think about not to pick him up
Would've been awesome if ROTB Battletrap has a Mainline Core figure someday along with Scourge since while I think their SS figures were cool? I can't really afford Voyager and Leader Class SS subline figures that much, only the Deluxe or Core ones lol.
Wait. They used soft plastic for connector pegs? Which engineering corner cutter thought that was a smart move?! That will more than likely kill the lonjevity of the figure. Frankly I feel soft plastic should never be used on any vehicle transformer. It makes more sense with animal altmode figures to give them more of a skin like texture. Kinda like what they did with WFC Kingdom T-rex Megatron.. And even then soft plastic will always shorten figures life spans quite a bit, since its a cheaper/inferior quality plastic.
just picked him up a few mins ago, and i was here to see if that transformation was done wrong. it feels like truck mode should work, but yeah it just doesnt fit, which makes me a little sad. some of it does feel off though, but he does look pretty cool in robot mode.. one question though - what happened to the fraser video? i cant seem to find it? thanks for the help btw!
Honestly thanks to hasbros cheapness I switched over to Legos sure you have to put it together but that's part of the fun and it's better Material that's for sure I'll come back to transformers when they stop using clear plastic for everything
It's all in the execution. Balt did a much better job of articulating the issue and highlighting problem areas. Chef's whole bit with just whacking the figure with a pencil will never not be dumb.
@@boulder5540 Balt is also the same person who smashed a bumblebee with a hammer. Sometimes it’s just a way get a point across. Besides, who’s to say he didn’t do it on purpose to get people set off by a pencil? Because it worked, so many people went off on such a minor thing from the video probably got him more attention.
@@muisverriet It's a common practice to merge two different characters into one.For example in Armada Smokescreen became Hoist which are two separate characters in the Transformers universe.
I think that grey plastic is nylon. It's very crack resistant, which might be why they chose it but it feels awful and TLK Hot Rod is full of it as well unfortunately.
5:53 i like to think his eyes are those black spots above his visor and those red dots are just him blushing
Blushing face, mace for a weapon? He's a total tsundere...

@@icommentalot8099 where do you get him???
Subscribed because you're telling us the negatives of the toy! Great job!
It sounds like that slimy-feeling plastic that's used in some plastics.
Maybe it's just cheaper.
The combination of the yellow plastic and red windshield reminds me of a Euro G1 toy.
Would've been awesome to see Euro G1 characters in Legacy someday.
Pyro/Spark's one of my favorites cause' Fire Trucks are also my faves lol.
After hearing some saying Battletrap's looks like he's a blushing girl...i can't unsee it 😂

I had the same thought on the cab when I was transforming it
Just got my copy last Friday, and I am also going through those exact same mental gymnastics you are, Baltmatrix.

not sure the clear plastic is meant to evoke his body glowing with energy.
Ive heard similar complaints about him. Despite all the issues Ive heard hes one the figures I want the most.

Talking about plastic feels makes me think about all the Transformers that I've bought. Mind blowing moment.
I miss the ond 2007-2009's Transformers movies figures
same with the almost-candy like plastic with the animated figures...they feel brittle and only gets worse over time

It looks like you just have the vehicle slightly mistransformed as that is the main reason panels will wiggle

That’d be cool! I hope so too!
Great review! Chefateon got bashed for his critical assessment of the plastic used for him and i feel that it is justified.
Gonna do a custom RID15 Soundwave. Replace the head from this one and add on the RID15 Soundwave head and put RID15 colors on him
oh my god, he has anime blush marks on his cheeks!
the red dot on the head can be seen as cute anime blushes

Soft plastic is uses for certain parts so they break less easily. It doesn't at all affect the longevity of the figure.
Battletrap looks great. ❤

why isn't this video in your rise of the beasts playlist?
Does this mean it’s on Amazon?

Funny how everyone rediculed another reveiwer for saying battrap's plastic didn't feel good, only for it to turn out to be true. lol
