SEASON OF INTIMACY

From July till August we were in a season of SURRENDER where God was calling us to surrender all to Him. This ushered us into the current season we are in now which is the season of INTIMACY WITH GOD (deepest form of relationship).
In Revelation 19:7 and Revelation 21:9, the church is referred to as the BRIDE/WIFE of Christ. This is because the day you got saved/accepted Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, you made a COVENANT with Him. This means that you became ONE with Him in spirit according to 1 Corinthians 6:17. This means that you are no longer expected to live for and as yourself but for Christ and in oneness with Him.(2 Corinthians 5:15). This requires a death of self, in the same way that a married man or woman ceases to live like a single person anymore because they are now one with each other; it is no longer “I” but “WE”. It is no longer “ME” but “US” and it is no longer about “what I want” but “what you want”.
And so Romans 12:1 instructs us to give our bodies to Him as a living sacrifice. He gave His on the cross, now it’s our turn. He paid our “bride price” at the cross so we now belong to Him(1 Corinthians 6:19-20) We owe Him our intimacy by letting go of control and ownership of self and giving ourselves to Him, and according to Romans 12:1, THIS is what GOD refers to as worship.
