i remember getting myself having such a difficult time in life and blackbear just appeared there in 2017, right when cybersex were released. Since then, i never stoped to listening him cause his songs helped and still helps me. Seeing bear growing up is such a beautiful and amazing thing and im really glad i could see all of this. He is an amazing singer and songwriter, but the most important? His a pure soul and human. for everyone who doesn't know blackbear yet, u should check his songs. ❤️❤️

I remember when someone showed me Blackbear on SoundCloud years ago. Prob circa 2014. I burned my own CD at the time so I could listen to all his songs in my car. It’s truly humbling watching his career grow over the years. His music heals. He remains true to himself & it shows. Fantastic interview 👏🏼👍🏼
2014 was when I found him on SoundCloud and it’s crazy to see how far he’s gone from not being known to being on the radio. Ready for mansionz 2 though mike and him are a great duo in music.

i hate to be that person but as someone who based their whole identity on the afterglow (and sex the mixtape lmao) when it came out and later kind of drifted apart from him like in the last two years, im really sorry to hear that matty relapsed. i genuinely thought he was doing great with this new sober happy family guy life. on the other hand im insanely grateful for his honesty, like, admitting himself to rehab when he felt the need to and being open with us about still struggling. this kind of rawness is what i love about him so much. kinda miss the cozy emo soundcloud days but im proud he made it big, i just hope the big label guys don’t milk him into burnout. can’t wait for mansionz 💚

Man, me and Bear were born barely a year apart n I was in LA strung out on opiates and messing with more toxic valley girls than anyone should (even if they probably deserve the outcome). Now I'm back up in Seattle tryin to stay sober and get my shit back together so I can maybe give LA a shot again as someone who ISN'T strung out and broke.
