- In January, Jang Won-young of K-pop girl group IVE won a civil lawsuit against Sojang, a UA-cam channel notoriously known for spreading malicious rumors about Jang and many other K-pop stars.
The ruling marks a new milestone in the K-pop landscape, where management companies have had a tough time taking legal action against online trolls on different social media platforms.
But thanks to the support of Chong Kyong-sok, a veteran attorney at LIWU Law Group, Jang and her label, Starship Entertainment, succeeded in identifying Sojang's operator, who ended up deleting her controversial channel.
How did Chong make this possible?

Starship did a great job at hiring an excellent lawyer and spending the money on all the processes.
Other companies probably won't sue because after Starship and Wonyoung are through with their processes this blogger will have no money left to pay compensations to other companies.

Why not thanking Starship for doing the right thing in this important case even if you are not satisfied with something else?
In the end that's why the companies mostly ignore fans, because no matter what the company does the fans are only complaining.
@@yulo8987 Wonyoung started her own lawsuit after Starship's lawsuit hit a wall. It was actually Wonyoung who got Sojang identified and Starship was an accessory to her trial and the "causes" merged.

Wonyoung could start with her process after the person was identified, which was done by Starship. Do you think it would have been better if the company sued this person first and then allowed Wonyoung to sue, after this person has no money left for compensations?
There's no such thing as a free lunch. I can understand why Starship gave them the busiest schedule and holds so many world tour concerts. Including the sudden new fan meeting event that was just announced. It's time to pay back their money. 🥲💰
The members are earning lots of money as well with these schedules. It's not that they work for free. As for the legal costs Starship is not Hybe with their huge budgets. If the money spent for legal processes is missing for the comebacks the fans will be the first to complain.
