GRRRLTRAVELER | Christine Kaaloa thanks for the Video. I am headed for Nepal in a couple of weeks and this looks like a super experience. I have visited parks in Sri Lanka and India over the last few months.
We went there last Summer and it was amazing!! where we stayed had to aircon and no pool :) amazing trip! Watched your packing video before we left, so helpful :)
I'm so jealous of all your travels and adventures. Your videos are an escape from my mundane reality and show me there is so much out there to explore.
Loved your videos.. I'm from chitwan and I never thought that my hometown is so exciting and beautiful until I watched this truly amazing video!! Thanks for supporting tourism and sharing your experience with world.😘😘
Christine, you are so adorable and it's awesome to see that excited smile radiating from you :-D... You are in such an absolutely incredible place, both physically and mentally! I'm so happy for you.. Relish it all! :-)
Imagine always waking up next to wild animals. My 10 years of childhood raised inside that National park. There was a village called Padampur. I was borned there. You really made me happy dear.
Girl you sure are lucky.. you got to see rhinos 3 times in a single safari... i have taken 3 safari rides there but never have spotted a rhino though i saw crocodiles
if you book rather farther hotels i can tell you you'll see more animals than you would have imagined!! Sauraha is crowded and is the reason to push the animals to farther places.. I once stayed in kasara resort, the day of the safari i saw countless deers rhinos crocs ..specially the tiger for about 7mins..i still remember those days as it it was a movie
When our team was there, we had a nature guide, Man Kumar Chaudhary. His explanation, description on each flora fauna we saw in the way was mind blowing..

From years of living in Pokhara and Kathmandu I m gonna list down the best times to experience Pokhara and Kathmandu Pokhara - on a rainy day the rain falling on the phewa lake is beautiful, visit David’s fall after a rainy day and feel the mist and water from the fall on ur face when the water level is rly high ,going up to the world peace pagoda on a clear morning and enjoy the view of Pokhara valley and the Himalayas ,paragliding or zip flying from sarangkot and bungee jump as well if u dare to ,evenings in the restaurants in lakeside and even better if u get to watch some traditional Nepali dances in one of the restaurants like hungry eye or lake view resort or boomerang which usually happens in the evenings and finally end up for some English music and live band and drinks in bemuse bee restaurant ,then maybe go to Annapurna base camp for a week long trip ..then In Kathmandu -a morning or evening view of the valley atop the swayambhu nath stupa ,or visit boudhanath on a full moon day morning and watch thousands of people going round and round the stupa praying ,some even falling on their feet and going round the stupa which is called “ kora “ ,maybe go to one of the corner restaurants in boudha and taste some Tibetan momo and lafing ,and def taste the “khapse “ which are these curly fritters they sell in plastic bags ,then u sud def see boudhanath in the evening when the whole stupa lights up and u can sit on one of the roof top restaurants around the stupa and watch the view of the stupa all lighted up ,similarly the Kathmandu and the patan Durban square look amazing at night ..if in Basantapur (Kathmandu ) Durbar square go to snowman restaurant in the freak street corner and have some Black Forest ,if u r in lalitpur durbar square look for hanocha restaurant which is right behind Krishna mandir for some authentic Newark cuisine like bara and choyela
Royal Chitwan National Park Safari wow this looks a little expensive and although well organized a bit too touristy for my appeal. I and a friend did a safari in Royal Chitwan 'Trekking' for 8 hours with an 'unofficial guide' from our hotel. We started out in a very simple 'dug-out' wooden canoe into the jungle carrying rations in our backpacks. At the starting point in the jungle, we had instructions from our guide such as less talking, hand signals stop and go etc. He was carrying only a stick! I asked what happens if we saw a tiger? he assured us there were no tigers! If we happen to get charged by a rhino? then everyone for themselves, climb a tree or run around a tree! but assured us he had done these treks a long time no problems. What at the time seemed to be a 'walk in the park' now took on a more dangerous mindset especially when he was using a machete to hack a trail through elephant grass. The first scare came almost as soon as we entered the jungle and in the midst of thick tall elephant grass. We heard the sound of thunderous hooves approaching and just 'FROZE' not knowing what was about to appear, could have been elephants, rhino? fortunately for us, it turned out to be Sambar deer very large size running by. From then on we started looking to see what trees we could climb and less about what animal to spot in that order. I was 65 and my tree climbing days were well past my sell by date! To make a long story short yes we did see Rhino walling in a muddy river and other jungle animals. However, at the end of a hot torrid 8-hour trek when we were weary and worn out are luck nearly ran out. Despite the guide climbing a tree and checking out a very large open area, he gave us the all-clear signal to come out of the jungle and move across the open field toward a copse of 4 trees about half a kilometer distance in tall elephant grass. No sooner we had gone into the open we saw a rhino come out of the very elephant grass area we were heading to although albeit a little aways from us the guide shouted to run towards the trees, being the senior citizen I was left in the dust of my fellow sprinters. As I got closer to the elephant grass another Rhino comes charging out this time just a few feet from me! and continues to run but I noticed as I glanced back it was turning back in my direction, I could hear shouts from my friends with the little energy I had left in me I ran in the direction of the voices, friends already up a tree reached down and pulled me up. The Rhino came charging in within seconds to my safety. We made a lot of noise to frighten it away and spent another one hour up the tree to ensure all was safe before descending and completing this adventure. Lessons to be learned. I have written this experience in a hotel diary in Chitwan perhaps someone out there has read it and consider twice hiring a hotel guide.
Haemish Kane omg!! Can't believe u went through such an intense moment which I myself would have had an heart attack literally. Thanks god u really got lucky out of that rhino moment. Thanks for sharing this experience. Damn
Its easy to come across rhino on the path or silently appearing, the guides will see before you and it works out fine.I would advise against walking in Bardia as there is a lot of long grass and many tiger. We saw several from elephant back and they would charge the elephants.
