No jacking the Motor is not needed. And no I didn't change the rear main seal. You cant change it without removing the upper oil pan

Nice bro. I have a 05 G35 coupe auto too . Sally I wasn't able to get the manual with the upgrade brakes that I wanted . Just got it for 4800 and it was low on tein basic coilovers. I figured with the big caliper conversion that you recently showed and more that I watched I might be able to do my own and even do manual swap one day. I got it with a bad y pipe as it scrape but I lift it a bit so it won't but might go back to OEM suspension. I hate the sound of the spec d exhaust , at low it's okay put raise the RPM in and lord does it sound like a trumpet. I managed to get an OEM exhaust system from somebody. so just work in progress to do. Keep on the grind.💪😎

I got a 05 with spec D and you summed it up 🤣 low rpm it sounds amazing but get past 4K rpm and it’s the worst one on the market 🤣
Just swapped my automatic as well runs stronger now no lag when releasing gas pedal on highway.

I'm in the process of swapping mine out now, O6 G35 ATM. How did you get the dipstick tube out? I have the bolts out that mount it to the trans, but I can't even see the upper mount to it.

Infiniti owners I have a question I have a 07 g35 and the trans is brand new I bought the car from the auction and I think it could be a built trans cause once it hits 3rd gear which is like 100 mph it just takes off and doesn’t stop
My automatic transmission slips from 2nd to 3rd gear but only when the car is cold start .I did a drain and fill but still have the problem.any idea what's going on?
Mine is doing the same thing. I have a 08 g35 , but mine only does it when I go in sport mode on manual . I shift up and it jerks , but when I put it back in D it drives normal

Did you use the valve body and Tcm that came with the new transmission? Or at least does it come with it
I removed and installed the transmission which comes with a tcm/valve body assembly
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE did it fix the entire issue I know it’s been a while but my 05 coupe is throwing the engine light on with p1757 code and barely wants to move/ shift so I guess I’ll go get a new transmission car has 194k miles rn

I have a 2004 G35 Coupe 170k miles that needs a transmission. Didn't realize Infiniti no longer makes them, so wondering if a rebuild is better than swapping for a used one? The price is insane through for a rebuild. I've had quotes from $4000-8900!

I've had a couple of people tell me to add Lucas Trans Fix to my trans fluid. My 2006 G35 Sedan transmission slips sometimes between 3rd and 4th. Please give me your opinion. Thanks

I only do videos on cars that need repairs, but if I get one for sure. It's pretty much the same as a 350z or g35 coupe though
same miles as my 06 m35 and its having the same issue, acting like its in neutral while its in reverse or drive and slipping at WOT, guess its transmission time!

From your experience what’s a manual conversion cost? I got an auto 06 and the rear main seal is leaking. I’m considering the swap since the cost of a rear main seal fix requires removing the trans anyways
Your looking at 3k maybe more for labor and parts. You will need to remove your upper oil pan as well

Hey man, Ive been digging around and cant find any info on this wondering if you could help, I have a 2003 G35 Rwd and I bought and engine off a 2004 G35x, will it bolt up fine?
No it will not, it had a different upper and lower oil pan to accommodate awd. You would need to swap that over make it compatible

I have a problem with my infinity g35 and I hope you can help me with some information. One way or another water went into my gearbox and the car wouldn’t even go into gears. Then i got another gearbox from the nissan fuga and put it into my car with the fuga’s tcm. My car wouldn’t start with the push to start switch and when I did get it to start bij jumping the starter it would stay in high gears while driving. Now i put back the old tcm on the new gearbox I had to turn on the car to scan it and after clearing all the codes tha car started with the push to start switch and the car drove good. After a couple minutes of driving the gear indication on the dashboard started flickering and the car went back into a high gear. I have no idea what the problem is anymore. It would be much appreciated if you had some information that could help me

Ok so I have a g35x sedan 2004. I just replaced my transmission from 188,000 miles to 89,000 miles. I haven’t driven it yet, but the shop thinks I should take it to Infiniti to get it flashed. I called Infiniti ahead of them and they said I shouldn’t have to. The whole transmission is replaced of course.. So should I just drive it. I haven’t even picked my car up yet. I paid for the work and everything
If they used the correct transmission for your vehicle, you shouldn't have to flash it. The only reason you will need to flash it is if the transmission tcm is new or if the transmission/tcm that they are using is from a different model that shares the same transmission at that point the shifting characteristics will be different so the transmission should be flashed.
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE ok I just tried to drive it. It won’t get out of gear at all rn. The slip light starts blinking when I give any amount of gas. So I guess the flash will be necessary.
@TheHaywood1 personally, if the shop did the replacement they should give you the vehicle in running condition, so that means they should have taken care of anything that It needed if you already paid him also
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE he did Tell me ahead of time it will need to be flashed at the dealership. I guess this shop is kinda limited. Just after observing how they approached everything with the vehicle. They thought my transmission was for a truck at first smh. Once I get it flashed I’ll hit you back
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE So I got the car to Infiniti, they couldn’t program it. I found someone with the same problem saying I could try and put the old valve body on the new transmission. Half of Infiniti techs are saying I shouldn’t have needed a flash. Do you think replacing the VB would get the car going and not need a flash? Or is it the TCM?
i have a g37 and during install seems to be bending my driveplate when bolted down any tips on it?

Do you know how to check whether your transmission requires one plug or 3 ?
Go underneath your passenger side and look at the side of the transmission, if it has a wire coming out that is black and single you have a one plug if you have a plug that splits into 3 green plug you have a 3 plug
Question was building a project from my g35 and wanted to see if the g37 auto transmission will fit in within the car from size and connectors because I've seen vids of it holding decent torque
I think only 2008 are compatible but don't take my word for it do some research on it the transmission tcm might be different
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE is the 05 auto transmission the same as the 04 but better with the plugs and connectors being the same?
@@NykoNintendo the transmission are all the same what changes is the TCM/valve body design. Early 2004 g35 or 350z have a different tcm and are not compatible you need to stay with your specific year so you won't run into compatibility issues

Is a 03 350z and 06 g35 compatible? My car (06 G) has a busted/stripped trans cooler line into the transmission.
The transmission itself should be but the tcm is not

You need to buy the same style tcm you have a 1 plug tcm the 2004 has a 3 plug so it's not compatible
@dondada2561 he said he was thinking of using the 2003 transmission but later he said he swapped vavle bodies but didn't specify if he used a 2003 tcm/valve body which I know for a fact he didn't because they are not compatible. 2003-2004 early style transmissions have a external tcm, which is by the passenger side foot well. 2005 and up switched to 1 style plug tcm/body that are built inside the transmission. Some late 2004 transmission might be 1 plug which is the updated modle but not every common. The easiest way you can confirm what you have is to check your 2003 transmission if you see 3 green plugs coming our of the transmission you have a 3 plug if you have no wires coming out and only see a black or gray female side plug then you have a 1 plug

You have to look for the deals it's also depends on the demand of the part not everyone will have the same luck
