Well Kung Fu Panda was already being made wayyy before Puss In Boots and Spiderverse so I think the animation is played safe here because I think it's old animation from the first three movies and put you they were playing it safe which I don't mind you can't always risk everything put I have a feeling in the next sequel in this trilogy they'll use more animations more in line with Puss in Boots and Spiderverse or they could stick to the animation they have now but I have a feeling they'll try to be creative next time... I'm hoping

Weakest Kung Fu Panda movie in the entire series by far. While the other films were genuine works of art with expertly written character arcs and well paced scenes, this one is just too lazy to even try and way too fast paced like it was made for the kids of the TikTok generation who can’t handle a single moment to stop, breathe, and process what was going on. Severely disappointed by the crew behind the scenes who took what we loved about the characters and that world and thoroughly destroyed it with cheap animation, wonky dialogue, childish jokes targeted to make you laugh every two seconds, and not including the Furious Five just to make a joke while sidelining Shifu and the past villains made for just an all around sour taste. Unfortunately there was no eye for genuine filmmaking like DreamWorks used to be so great at having especially when this had the potential to be the most interesting and creatively crafted film in the whole Kung Fu Panda franchise. How do you get this wrong when the pieces were right in front of you to satisfyingly follow up and conclude an otherwise amazing series. While it’s still out for anyone to form their own opinion, if you feel it’s not necessary to give a try then you don’t have to. 0/10.
While I always preferred the How To Train Your Dragon movies over the Kung Fu Panda movies. But Kung Fu Panda 2 is equally on par with the Best HTTYD movie. KFP2 had a sense of maturity that the first and 3rd movie didn't have. It had a sense of spectacle. And there is just something to be said about a bad guy that just straight up point blank canon fires people.

The fact that it has the lowest budget of the 4 movies and Dreamworks just released 1 trailer barely marketing it and not having Jennifer Yu Nelson return to direct goes to show Dreamhouse put less effort into KFP 4 than the other 3!
The budget doesn’t worry me too much. The tech has advanced a great deal since the first film came out. It’s much cheaper to create animation of HIGHER quality with modern tech. All that said it’s not breaking any ground with animation
That maybe a possible reason though why the furious five aren’t in it. Given celebs like Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie, and the rest probably would’ve been very expensive and as far as a narrative is concerned I dunno what the furious five could’ve really done as far as a purpose to the plot.
Even though I’m not expecting Puss in Boots: The Last Wish level Dreamworks with this film, this’ll hopefully still be a good time. I’ll be finding out how good this movie is tomorrow.

That's kinda disappointing to hear because even though the trailers weren't great, I was still hoping the movie would prove me wrong, especially because of how great Puss in Boots the last wish was. Plus Kung Fu Panda is one of my favorite animated films because I grew up with it

The Furious Five was in this movie at the end even though it was rolling the credits, I didn’t really care still, we got to see him. It was funny and a great ending to see them help Zhen get better in her training
Just got back from the theater I give it a 7/10 It’s a fine addition, but the story could’ve been stronger and could’ve had more emotions like the previous movies. nonetheless, it’s enjoyable
I'm really excited to see that one. Sean is right about Aquafina being rather an acquired taste and you either like her style or not. That said I really enjoyed her performance in Raya and the last dragon so fingers crossed. And Jack Black, that guy is a legend 🙌
I’m not the target audience anymore but they should’ve had included the furious 5, they were major characters in the kung fu panda 🐼 franchise, but i guess it had something to do with the budget of this movie.
As a huge Kung Fu Panda fan, I rushed to see it and enjoyed it for what it was. I loved the song in the end. Jack Black can really sing! Overall, a pretty solid film. I cant wait for the 5th one
I'm a little nervous for this film. A lot of the early reviews have said. Its fun, it has great action etc. But the story kinda falls off. And didn't nearly tackle its themes as maturely as the first two movies did
We really need a Furious Five spin-off series that explains what they were doing during this movie because them not being in this one really lowers my excitement for this film.
I think they used the animated series lore, cause po said mantis is trying to find a wife that won't kill him and that's similar to the animated series.
I haven't seen it yet, but from the trailers, this movie just seems like it's trying to be silly and goofy for kids rather than having a more serious approach. It looks like a very safe sequel with the stakes not raised very high. I hate it when movies that are for both kids and adults try to appeal to the kids more when it should try to appeal to both audiences. I hope I'm wrong tho
I love Kung fu panda. I grew up watching the two first films all the time. Kung fu panda 2 is my favorite animated film of all time. Flipping love this franchise.
i was 5 years old when i saw the first kung fu panda i was in middle school when i saw part 2 and i was in high school when i saw part 3 and now im in 2nd year college and im already 21 watching kung fu panda 4 and its still make me feel im a kid agien

I finally watched the movie kung fu panda 4 🍿🎥🐼🦊 and it was awesome. I love it I’ll give it five out of five dumplings 🥟🥟🥟🥟🥟 🥢🥡🥟🥟🥟🥟🥟 And I love the new fox character Zhen And don’t worry I won’t spoil the movie. You guys gotta check it out
I thought this was a solid movie, this was one I honestly was very worried about, because while I thought Kung Fu Panda 3 was decent I did admittedly think it was a pretty significant drop in quality compared to the first 2, mainly due to them taking a more lighthearted, kid friendly approach instead of the fun but also serious tone of the first 2, and so I was worried that this movie was gonna be more like that, but it actually was a very well made movie Jack Black is still great as Po, while I wasn’t much of a fan of the story arc he’s given one element of it I do like is that since he has to find a successor to take over as Dragon Warrior I like seeing his conflict of interest because he still loves being that, which makes for a lot of progression with his character throughout the movie, I also felt that the movie thankfully took itself a little more seriously than 3 did, I still don’t think it’s done as well as it was in 1 & 2 but it had a fair amount of drama which I did like The comedy is also really good, there’s this really hilarious part where they go to this really messed up bar, it was so incredibly morbid but also so funny, it also made very good use of the screaming goat meme, mainly because it’s coming from a Kung fu student, and so in a weird way it’s kinda fitting, and while their story isn’t anything especially deep I liked seeing the side story with Po’s 2 dad venturing out to go after Po, it also leads to this other hilarious scene where Po’s biological dad is trying to act scary and he’s actually managing to pull it off even when he’s not the best at it I’d say the biggest fault in the movie is Akwafina’s character, because her personality basically just felt like a poorer version of Nick Wild from Zootopia, like they honestly felt nearly identical, and the role they ultimately give her is painfully obvious when you remember what Po has to do, like I’m not kidding, I guessed it long before the movie had even come out, and the whole thing of Po having to find a successor to take over as the Dragon Warrior just didn’t feel right to me, mainly because he felt like he was still too young to have to pass the mantle, maybe if they went the route of having him age up a little it would make more sense but as of now he still looks and fights like he’s in his prime, so it doesn’t make sense why he’d have to do it yet, again you didn’t need to make him old and decrepit now but at the very least you could’ve given him a subtle little showcase of his age like maybe he could’ve started walking with a cane or something like that, just a minor thing to show he’s a little older, but as far as this movie shows he’s just as young and nimble as before so again, it doesn’t make sense Viola Davis as the villain was just kinda…fine, she wasn’t all that bad but she just didn’t really have that interesting of a motivation, especially compared to the great villains in this franchise that came before her, speaking of which that was also a pretty big letdown, the movie was really pushing that all of Po’s former enemies were gonna be in this movie but they really weren’t, you see them a few times but they don’t really play much of a role at all, and Tai Lung was literally the only one who actually got to speak, I get that it was probably a lot less costly to get Ian McShane back than it would be to get Gary Oldman and J.K Simmons to come back but if that’s the case then I feel like it would’ve been better to only have Tai Lung come back, because at least then you’re not misleading your audience, and lastly you do feel the absence of the Furious Five, to me they’re such key characters in this franchise that it just feels wrong to not have them in it, because now Akwafina’s character is really the only character Po has to interact off of for the majority of the movie, and not only was she not that great of a character but she’s only 1/5th of what the Furious Five were and so it feels like a pretty big downgrade At the end of day though I actually thought this movie was really good, I quite honestly thought that at this point this movie was gonna show major franchise fatigue but it was actually very good, the story and comedy were very good, they had a lot more drama this time around and it was quite an unexpected improvement over the last movie. 7/10
Oh snap that’s actually a great question! I hope he did, he’s my favorite movie score composer and his work in KFP (especially the 2nd one) is one of the big reasons I love this franchise so much.
I don’t think it was a bad film, but I feel them bringing back the villains was wasted, I was so excited for Shen to return and he and the others just didn’t do anything and the lack of the furious 5 was not great, it’s not a bad film but I wouldn’t chose it over the first 3
I haven't seen it yet, but I think it would've helped if this movie had a "painterly" style like Puss in Boots and included new settings like Japan, Tibet, Mongolia, Sri Lanka

as much AS I've been a HUGE Kung Fu Panda fan from the franchisee Kung Fu Panda 2 will always be my favorite of the Kung Fu Panda franchise so I'm still curious of Kung Fu Panda 4
I'm looking forward to this movie. My expectations are to just have fun with this. As for how it is compared to other Dreamworks Animated sequels, I don't think it'll be on the same level as Shrek 2, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, or the How to Train Your Dragon sequels. I do think it'll be as fun as Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3, and also the Madagascar sequels.
Bought tickets for tomorrow. Nobodies opinions have deterred me from going to see it. I grew up with these movies and have yet to find any of them bad. When the 3rd came out, i remember an outroar about how "bad" it was and look now! 8 years later everyone praises it. I have a feeling this will be the same. SPOILERS Once again the male hero has to be replaced with a female BUT This time she actually has to EARN it. She was flawed, likable humble (and adorable) and most importantly she had the hero's journey. In other words she is a worthy successor

I've just seen it with my kids. Big fan of the franchise, but KFP 4 was a big disappointment. The weakest of the four by a long way - no soul, no vision, no mystery, no emotional hook, no development of the central character or the 'Dragon Warrior' theme, a villain I wasn't scared of (unlike all the previous villains who were awesome and awesomely bad) etc. It felt like it was written and directed by people who weren't real fans of the other films, and they simply didn't possess the vision necessary to further embellish the story. I really wanted to love this film too, but.............
Kung Fu Panda 1 & 2 are a 9/10 Kung Fu Panda 3 was 7.5/10 Kung Fu Panda 4 is like a 5.5/10 Shifu was great in the movie, the action was pretty good, Chameleon shapeshiting ability was cool and interesting to watch. Easily the best thing was seeing the villains again. It was actually exciting and cool seeing them again. But Chameleon is not threatening or memorable. Zhen is a not a good replacement for Po, especially because shes voiced by bloody Akwfina, who's voice is so distracting. Even Po's dads inclusion in the story felt forced and cheap. The furious five not appearing was the worst thing about the film. Such a terrible and bizzare decision. And the villains felt inconsistent. They weren't acting in character at all. As if they would accept to go back to the spirit realm and as if they would choose to bow down to Po in respect? Like wtf. Also the minor characters in the city were so boring.
Awkafina being the main costar means I won’t see but also no way to get near the original 1 (a top fav animated of all time for me) and 2 so a pass indeed

I thought it was pretty good. Unlike SOME people, I'm not annoyed by Awkwafina's character, I actually quite liked her. Blame the casting people not the actress guys. I thought the film was better as it went along and I liked the message of change. The action scenes are really great. I liked Tia Lung's arc. It was a natural evolution. Unlike other people, I liked that the furious five weren't in it, because we need Po to learn to stand without them. The villain sucked tho. And the first act was pretty meh. Overall, while the weakest in the quadrilogy, a 7/10
It's so disheartening that I can't even craft words to manifest them. You don't tangle with perfection just to serve mediocrity at the end. Moreover, all these pseudo-positive dimwits are making the situation much worse by being tolerant of mediocrity and being ignorant of the loss and downfall of quality and downfall of legends and thus, making studios comfortable in providing more steaming piles of dog shite like this and ruining more franchises like this and MCU. I would have preferred Po Shifu and Tailung buddy cop movie. Tai lung gets a redemption with more screentime makes amends with Shifu

I love Kung fu panda. I grew up watching the two first films all the time. Kung fu panda 2 is my favorite animated film of all time. Flipping love this franchise.

It was alright for me
I thought this was a solid movie, this was one I honestly was very worried about, because while I thought Kung Fu Panda 3 was decent I did admittedly think it was a pretty significant drop in quality compared to the first 2, mainly due to them taking a more lighthearted, kid friendly approach instead of the fun but also serious tone of the first 2, and so I was worried that this movie was gonna be more like that, but it actually was a very well made movie
Jack Black is still great as Po, while I wasn’t much of a fan of the story arc he’s given one element of it I do like is that since he has to find a successor to take over as Dragon Warrior I like seeing his conflict of interest because he still loves being that, which makes for a lot of progression with his character throughout the movie, I also felt that the movie thankfully took itself a little more seriously than 3 did, I still don’t think it’s done as well as it was in 1 & 2 but it had a fair amount of drama which I did like
The comedy is also really good, there’s this really hilarious part where they go to this really messed up bar, it was so incredibly morbid but also so funny, it also made very good use of the screaming goat meme, mainly because it’s coming from a Kung fu student, and so in a weird way it’s kinda fitting, and while their story isn’t anything especially deep I liked seeing the side story with Po’s 2 dad venturing out to go after Po, it also leads to this other hilarious scene where Po’s biological dad is trying to act scary and he’s actually managing to pull it off even when he’s not the best at it
I’d say the biggest fault in the movie is Akwafina’s character, because her personality basically just felt like a poorer version of Nick Wild from Zootopia, like they honestly felt nearly identical, and the role they ultimately give her is painfully obvious when you remember what Po has to do, like I’m not kidding, I guessed it long before the movie had even come out, and the whole thing of Po having to find a successor to take over as the Dragon Warrior just didn’t feel right to me, mainly because he felt like he was still too young to have to pass the mantle, maybe if they went the route of having him age up a little it would make more sense but as of now he still looks and fights like he’s in his prime, so it doesn’t make sense why he’d have to do it yet, again you didn’t need to make him old and decrepit now but at the very least you could’ve given him a subtle little showcase of his age like maybe he could’ve started walking with a cane or something like that, just a minor thing to show he’s a little older, but as far as this movie shows he’s just as young and nimble as before so again, it doesn’t make sense
Viola Davis as the villain was just kinda…fine, she wasn’t all that bad but she just didn’t really have that interesting of a motivation, especially compared to the great villains in this franchise that came before her, speaking of which that was also a pretty big letdown, the movie was really pushing that all of Po’s former enemies were gonna be in this movie but they really weren’t, you see them a few times but they don’t really play much of a role at all, and Tai Lung was literally the only one who actually got to speak, I get that it was probably a lot less costly to get Ian McShane back than it would be to get Gary Oldman and J.K Simmons to come back but if that’s the case then I feel like it would’ve been better to only have Tai Lung come back, because at least then you’re not misleading your audience, and lastly you do feel the absence of the Furious Five, to me they’re such key characters in this franchise that it just feels wrong to not have them in it, because now Akwafina’s character is really the only character Po has to interact off of for the majority of the movie, and not only was she not that great of a character but she’s only 1/5th of what the Furious Five were and so it feels like a pretty big downgrade
At the end of day though I actually thought this movie was really good, I quite honestly thought that at this point this movie was gonna show major franchise fatigue but it was actually very good, the story and comedy were very good, they had a lot more drama this time around and it was quite an unexpected improvement over the last movie. 7/10

Oh snap that’s actually a great question! I hope he did, he’s my favorite movie score composer and his work in KFP (especially the 2nd one) is one of the big reasons I love this franchise so much.
It's honestly disrespectful to the prequels with how many inconsistency and retcons. It tried to be No Way Home so bad it fails miserably.
I don’t think it was a bad film, but I feel them bringing back the villains was wasted, I was so excited for Shen to return and he and the others just didn’t do anything and the lack of the furious 5 was not great, it’s not a bad film but I wouldn’t chose it over the first 3
I haven't seen it yet, but I think it would've helped if this movie had a "painterly" style like Puss in Boots and included new settings like Japan, Tibet, Mongolia, Sri Lanka

I'm looking forward to this movie. My expectations are to just have fun with this. As for how it is compared to other Dreamworks Animated sequels, I don't think it'll be on the same level as Shrek 2, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, or the How to Train Your Dragon sequels. I do think it'll be as fun as Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3, and also the Madagascar sequels.

Bought tickets for tomorrow. Nobodies opinions have deterred me from going to see it. I grew up with these movies and have yet to find any of them bad. When the 3rd came out, i remember an outroar about how "bad" it was and look now! 8 years later everyone praises it. I have a feeling this will be the same. And im probably gonna like this one just the same. If i dont i dont. Who knows

This time she actually has to EARN it. She was flawed, likable humble (and adorable) and most importantly she had the hero's journey.

I've just seen it with my kids. Big fan of the franchise, but KFP 4 was a big disappointment. The weakest of the four by a long way - no soul, no vision, no mystery, no emotional hook, no development of the central character or the 'Dragon Warrior' theme, a villain I wasn't scared of (unlike all the previous villains who were awesome and awesomely bad) etc. It felt like it was written and directed by people who weren't real fans of the other films, and they simply didn't possess the vision necessary to further embellish the story. I really wanted to love this film too, but.............
This one was a fun movie, definitely last place of the 4 but still a fun watch with lots of good moments
Kung Fu Panda 1 & 2 are a 9/10
Kung Fu Panda 3 was 7.5/10
Kung Fu Panda 4 is like a 5.5/10
Shifu was great in the movie, the action was pretty good, Chameleon shapeshiting ability was cool and interesting to watch. Easily the best thing was seeing the villains again. It was actually exciting and cool seeing them again.
But Chameleon is not threatening or memorable.
Zhen is a not a good replacement for Po, especially because shes voiced by bloody Akwfina, who's voice is so distracting.
Even Po's dads inclusion in the story felt forced and cheap.
The furious five not appearing was the worst thing about the film. Such a terrible and bizzare decision.
And the villains felt inconsistent. They weren't acting in character at all. As if they would accept to go back to the spirit realm and as if they would choose to bow down to Po in respect? Like wtf.
Also the minor characters in the city were so boring.
Awkafina being the main costar means I won’t see but also no way to get near the original 1 (a top fav animated of all time for me) and 2 so a pass indeed

I thought it was pretty good. Unlike SOME people, I'm not annoyed by Awkwafina's character, I actually quite liked her. Blame the casting people not the actress guys. I thought the film was better as it went along and I liked the message of change. The action scenes are really great. I liked Tia Lung's arc. It was a natural evolution. Unlike other people, I liked that the furious five weren't in it, because we need Po to learn to stand without them. The villain sucked tho. And the first act was pretty meh. Overall, while the weakest in the quadrilogy, a 7/10
