    My thoughts;
    -No V2L when far cheaper cars are coming with it in (Atto 3, MG 4, Dolphin)
    -Troublesome haptic buttons instead of touch ones for volume and air conditioning control
    -Buttons do not light up at night, making changing the temperature difficult
    -Software bugs
    I'm on the fence about this car! It seems like the build quality will be good... but it'll also be allot more expensive than the MG4. I can't decide.

      V2L will be great to have. For me, I think the price is too close to the 3, which is far better (except for range I guess).
      If it were between the Born and the MG4, I think the MG4 would win for me, at $20k less (less range, but decent sw and also RWD like the Born). The Born wins for me on looks and range though.

    You mentioned in one of your earlier vids that you have a passive house. I would be VERY interested in how it is working out. Who in WA builds them, or was it an imported kit from, say Germany? Costs? Any build problems with WA regs etc etc

      I definitely want to do a video on that sometime. It's brilliant.

      @@stormjuice I haven't been to Perth for years. I did see a YT vid by the ismart people before my previous post which triggered my enquiry. It was of a place in Halls Head. A bit light of info and details but it showed they do come south at least a little way. I was curious if they were ok. You seem happy so that is good.

      @@AJames-jr8kw It's EXCELLENT.
      Took 4 months to complete (as the framework/insulation is built in a factory then shipped to the site).
      Keeps the house between 18 - 24 degrees all year round (barring a few heatwave days where the AC is on during the day at 24 degrees using solar.... just to keep it temperate).
      4x2, designed by my architect partner. Cost depends on your design/square footage/fittings of course, but it was $350k for her to build it, plus about $50k of fittings (Ikea Kitchen, decent AEG oven/cooktop/dishwasher etc.).
      It has a very large heat pump hot water system, and we added full home water filtration, solar panels and 15kwh home battery as well.

      @@AJames-jr8kw Also, they go south A LOT, as the tech is made mainly for cold countries e.g. Canada, Europe etc. Obviously works well for hot countries too. A fair amount of the cost is the double-glazing, as only one place in Australia supplies it.

      @@stormjuice years ago I was interested in one of those factory built German houses with triple glazing etc but it was not possible outside of Europe. I sort of gave up.. It is crazy the Eastern Staters have horrendous power bills yet in this country with solar, wind and EVs no-one should be paying anything for electricity.

    Price?

    • @stormjuice
      @stormjuice  Рік тому

      I asked them directly at the event, and they would only say "around $60k", and would tell us the exact price in a couple of weeks. I had the price up in the video.

    I think DC charging is 170kw for Australian Born

    • @stormjuice
      @stormjuice  Рік тому

      The motor is 170kWh. The charging rate is 'up to' 135kW.

      @@stormjuice I have double checked the spec, 170kw motor and upto 170kw DC charging. Unless there is a typo in Cupra document.

      As far as I know upto 135kw DC charging is for their 58kwh version

    Atto 3 represents better value for money. I hate the droopy nose on this Ev and it has the crapy VW software and all the issues that come with it. Not worth the extra money over the Atto 3 in my opinion. If you are going to fork out this type of money, you might as well buy a Tesla model 3.

    • @stormjuice
      @stormjuice  Рік тому

      I tend to agree.... Model 3 is better value. Not so sure Atto3 is better (although I like the Atto3, I think the Cupra looks a million times better, would drive better (RWD), and has more range). Agree on the software.... though that can be improved. BYD/Eagers/V-Direct warranty/servicing is worse though.
