- I really enjoy using physical notebooks.
Do I have too many of them? Yes.
Do I use them all? Mostly.
Would I still buy more? Probably.
Why?
Because I admit that I'm a notebook (actually, a stationery) addict!
I've bought, sold, given away, stored, and used so many notebooks other the years that I don't even know what I've owned - Field Notes, Filofax, Travellers, Moleskine...the list goes on!
Any advice for this notebook-crazed chap, please let me know :)

I TOTALLY GET IT!!!! All this time I thought I was just weird. I love paper, the smell of it, the feeling. All writing tools I love and let's not forget the typewriters, a have about a dozen of those as well. Go ANALOG! Thank you for this Barry!
The Weird Analog Club! :)) Ah yes, typewriters - when I was about 10 years old, my neighbour was a typewriter fixer, and he taught me all about how they work, and gave me my first touch typing book. Fond memories. The typewriter sound is wonderful. Thanks for typing your comment :)
Barry, what a great video. I really enjoyed listening to you talk about your passion for stationery. Thank you so much. Great images too of the different notebooks you showed us. Nick
Ah, thank you, Nick! And thanks so much again for your channel and very encouraging words. Barry
Sane as well! I can't be trusted in a stanery shop!
:)
Some people do Morning Pages, as mentioned in The Artist’s Way, in a cheap notebook. I’m a notebook nerd ❤them!
I used to write Morning Pages about 15 years ago - it was very helpful at the time. Nice to meet a fellow 'notebook nerd' :))
You seem like such a good man and your videos and way of talking actually reflects that. Thank you for these calming interesting videos for stationary, notebooks and all that kind of stuff we notebook nerds like!
That's very kind of you to say; thanks so much! I really appreciate it - and thank you for watching them :)
I use Rhodia notebooks of various sizes (which YOU introduced me to), and a clothbound edition from Slightly Foxed press out of London which I love
Ah that's great! :) Rhodia are superb notebooks; I've got a small bunch of other ones too, even the mini one which is cute :)
I like Rhodia too! I’ve only had one though I believe. Thanks for reminding me.
Video idea: showcase fountain pens ✒️ by writing lines from classic poetry, with the occasional “gospel grenade” like John 3:7, etc 😎
Excellent idea, thanks! And timely too, as I've been reading some lovely poems recently from the wonderful sister, Phillis Wheatley. So may indeed start with her. I don't have too many fountain pens at the moment, but certainly will showcase a number of other writing instruments that I thoroughly enjoy using :) Thanks again, brother!
Just embrace it. 📚
Absolutely! :)
Wow, Barry, that ReMakable thing is amazing! I'll like a versus with notebooks ;)
It is indeed a splendid device - more on it at some point :)
Decoration is Important! But, Construction is maybe more important. I like wirebound notebooks for certain situations. I am less inclined to use a thread bound notebook as they don't fold back and fit on my desk as well.
I just finished "this year's" notebook last week. Rather than buy another I decided to go threw my bin of yet to be used notebooks and found the perfect one to start the second half of this year. 😄
That is great! Which one did you choose I wonder?
So cool, I’d love to see that space art!
Thank you so much! This video includes some of the space art :) ua-cam.com/video/2DCZtzkz33Q/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
I need to look into the Remarkable tablet you mentioned. I have been shopping for something that and I haven’t even heard of that one !
You definitely should consider it - it would be ideal for your voiceover work! As well as what I mentioned in the video, I use it most of the time for editing and recording scripts.
