Hello, I'm Barry; a Christian man living in the UK who enjoys noting and notetaking.
I write and draw in different types of notebooks using all sorts of stationery, to help me take action on things I learn - from reading and studying the Bible and a range of non-fiction books, to reading and listening to ways I can further improve my professional skills as a consultant, learning designer, and performance manager.
I hope and pray there is something on this channel that you can use in your life.

A Pocket Filofax And A Remarkable 2 Tablet | Space Art | #spaceart #remarkable2 #filofax
Since a young boy, and having watched Martian Chronicles on TV, I have always enjoyed looking at space art - sci-fi book covers, film posters, and so on.
A number of year's ago, I decided to use a pocket Filofax to draw some space art of my own - minimal; nothing fancy. It has been a pleasurable and relaxing experience.
Whatever it is YOU like, try drawing something to do with it. Try changing some of your handwritten notes to simple sketches instead. Get used to doodling a bit more, and allow yourself to experiment and relax during the process.
For me, it's a time to enjoy a cup of tea, and switch off this world for a bit.
Thanks for watching!

#travelersnotebooks #travellersnotebook #fieldnotes #paperrepublic A lovely sunny day at the marina for showing a number of my Traveler's Notebooks and alternatives that I've collected and used over the years. There are plenty of options out there nowadays, so it all comes down to personal choice. For me, I'll always enjoy the TN's themselves, but the Paper Republic ones are absolutely beautifu...

#journals #travel #traveljournal It's amazing what one can find in charity shops and bargain buckets/bins. Over the years, I've found a load of nice bits and pieces to do with stationery and the storage of such, and recently found another amazing find in the form of a Travel Journal. Not sure if I'll use it yet for an upcoming trip, but certainly will consider it. I compare it here with another...
London Work Bag Trip | Quick Stationery Everyday Carry EDC | #everydaycarry #edc

#everydaycarry #edc I attended a meeting in London recently, and decided to bring my larger bag with me, because I wanted to carry another shirt due to the sunny day and extreme heat. Tip: Always try to look as sharp as you can when meeting new people - first impressions stick! For this trip, I carried a few select stationery items, which I quickly show in this video. But also in my bag (whatev...

#visitcambridge #cambridge #travelersnotebooks #travellersnotebook My family and I recently took a trip to Cambridge. There's a ton of history in that city, and we spent a good amount of time exploring the place - the architecture, university grounds, cafes, and of course, bookshops! Watch out for my first book haul video coming next in 'Part 2' :) I brought my Regular size Traveler's Notebook ...

#travelersnotebooks #travellersnotebook During the last several years, one of my favourite notebook systems has been the Traveler's Notebook (previously called Midori). I have regular size ones and one passport size. A couple of day's ago, after receiving a new (cheap, but brilliant!) fountain pen in the post, I grabbed the closest notebook to me at that time, which was a Traveler's one, and be...

#travelersnotebooks #travellersnotebook #fieldnotes So what notebooks am I currently using, and have been using for the past few months? My usage changes often, so I will perhaps record a monthly update. I also have many other notebooks that I haven't shown in this video, as they are ones I use for logging and tracking things, and for reference, so don't get heavily used on a daily or weekly ba...

I really enjoy using physical notebooks. - Do I have too many of them? Yes. - Do I use them all? Mostly. - Would I still buy more? Probably. Why? Because I admit that I'm a notebook (actually, a stationery) addict! I've bought, sold, given away, stored, and used so many notebooks other the years that I don't even know what I've owned - Field Notes, Filofax, Travellers, Moleskine...the list goes...
With anxiety, chew chewing gum.
Top tip! Thanks
Barry this is glorious
Praise the Lord; thanks Jacob; the word of God is wonderful.
What is that black bag that held the notebooks? Nice size for storing.
Hi there - it's a small gadget/tablet bag bought from Staples many years ago. You can probably find similar bags on Amazon or other office stores. It's a lovely little thing for storing notebooks :) Many thanks.
Such great finds, my friend!! That holiday travel planner was definitely vintage! I love the Font used on that book! 😊 8:46
Beautiful little book and the layout and typeface just makes you want to go on holiday :) I wonder if there are any completed versions of these somewhere on UA-cam? Take care!
Love these! Especially with this music. How great that you could produce these to then print and frame. ❤
Thanks Nick. That's the beauty of the reMarkable - choose to simply store on the device/cloud, or email a PDF/JPG/PNG to yourself for printing. The music is from Maritan Chronicles TV series I watched as a young boy, and also stuck with me. It's a really wonderful score that fits the programme perfectly.
Hi mate, just asking where you got the car in the back from my dad used to have one and he wanted a toy version of it
Hello there, thanks for your question. To confirm, it's the E30 M3 and I bought it from Amazon. Here's the link for your convenience. Thanks again! Barry --- amzn.to/3ztM4sI
@@barrygalvinThanks mate!👍
That's a huge collection of Notebooks Barry. I started journalling last year & have 2 completed A6 Notebooks & my Regular & Passport size Traveller's Notebooks. I don't go anywhere without a Notebook nowadays.
That's great news! Hope you're getting a lot from regular journalling; it can become very addictive :)
@@barrygalvin Yes I love it. I write down pretty much everything.
Cambridge looks like a beautiful place Barry. My sister & her hubby were recently in England as they're on a World Cruise. Last I heard from her they were in Copenhagen. I carry my passport in my bag with me everywhere I go for short notes & my regular size TN I use more at home as my personal Journal. The bigger ones can be a bit bulky for on the go use.
It is a lovely place; we're planning to go back again soon, after a visit again to Oxford first. Hope you're sister and brother in law are having a splendid time! The TNs are lovely :)
A nice collection of TN's Barry. I made my own Passport size cover by cutting down a leather cover from an old notebook that I no longer used. Punched some holes with a leather punch & threaded up the elastic. I did 4 elastics for mounting inserts & put the closure elastic through the spine. I don't like the way Traveler's Company has it just knotted through the back cover. Seems like an after thought. Greetings from Tasmania!!!
Thank you, Tony. Agreed, I much prefer the knot on the side like the Paper Republic ones, which are beautiful. What a great idea making your own one from an existing notebook; might try that myself :)
Are you still affiliated with John from Time for Truth UK!
Hello. We do chat occasionally.
Praise the Lord! "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Rom10:17
Amen!!
Thanks for doing this! A great part of a great book!
Praise the Lord!! Thanks for writing.
Omg I have the same sharpener, its awesome! Same eraser too!🙂
Splendid!! It's a great solid sharpener :)
The scenery is beautiful and a great collection of notebooks.🙂
Many thanks indeed! :) The place is absolutely beautiful with a lovely cafe to enjoy a tea/coffee and a cake :)
I used the Travelers Notebook (Travelers Company) for many years, until two years ago I discovered Paper Republic, an Austrian company and more precisely located in the capital Vienna. As you already mentioned in your video, I find the latter much more manageable than the TN, especially because the PR closure is indeed on the back and not at the back as with the TN. With the Paper Republic you have a much more pleasant feeling leather, which is even more ecological than the TN. So from now on I am sold to the Paper republic, both the pocket version and the Grand Voyageur XL, as well as the Portefolio A5 and A4. I have them all and in different colors, it has become an addiction :) they also have great inserts, especially the notebooks that are sewn instead of stapled or glued on the spine, easy to write, remain perfectly open. And since I am a fountain pen user/collector, these notebooks are perfect for that. Hopefully more about it in your next video :) good luck with your channel
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts about Paper Republic, and indeed for the correction of the company country :) Not sure why I thought it waa a French company; I read an article a while ago about the founder, and it mentioned French in it. I agree completely about the PR leather feel and the side closure; just seems to be a nicer product all round. And the company's passion and advertising too is great. At the moment, I only have the one I showed, but will look at getting the larger version too now. Thanks again, and thank you for your channel well wishes. Barry

Argh, that pen again! I saw that pen on the other chap’s channel a month ago and then couldn’t find it for sale, and now you link to it again, but it seems it is not available in the US. Thanks for these posts, I’ve subscribed.
Thank you so much for your comment and subscription! :) It really is an excellent pen if you can get it - here's a shop over here that sells it for a great price and ships to US for a good price too - awesomepens.co.uk/product/faber-castell-fresh-schulfuller-fountain-pen-lime-green-body/ --- I'm not affiliated with them, but just thought I'd share :) Thanks again! Barry
Interesting video, thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much; you're very welcome!
Good video, wich you could share little more about the publishers in the vido. I would like to get hold of George Mykkwers autobiography
Thank you very much! Will aim to share a bit more about books. George publisher is Whitaker House ISBN: 0-88368-159-5 -- hope that helps.
Good to see prof Andys clip in your video
Indeed. Was very happy to see the preaching during those couple of days.
Thanks for showing your notebook. It's a good system. I bought into it when it was still called Midori. I have used the size that you show in the video and also the passport size. I have changed to the Paper-Republic A6/Pocket sized "grand voyageur" as it takes standard sized pocket notebooks and gives me a greater choice of notebooks. It works well for me.
Ah, you're very welcome; thanks for your comment! I have the same PR pocket size one in Tan colour. They fit the Field Notes and Moleskines perfectly! I was using it heavily last year and is was great. Emmm, I may have to revisit that one too - argghh, I'm my own worst enemy :)) Thanks again! Barry
Very nice set of books. I have to read about George Muller. Recently I read 3 books about C.T. Studd - he lived the same time as Bro. Muller, I think I wrote down a couple of pages of quotes from him, highly recommend for reading.
This film is the one I mention in the video - 'Robber of the Cruel Streets', but am looking forward to reading his autobiography. Thanks for the recommendation! - ua-cam.com/video/D4KZEU7681w/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
I'm glad I found your channel. Good stuff.
Thank you very much! :)
This looks so lovely!
It was indeed a lovely place; full of history and tradition.
Good morning Barry. What a super video. I have never used the Midori although see them often in videos here. The narrow design and long page length is attractive, reminding me (only a little) of the experience of writing in the Filofax pages. It was also great to see the footage from Cambridge as you enjoyed a day visiting the city. Nick
Thank you, Nick. I know what you mean about Filofax - almost like the Personal siize FF paper. The Midori notebook inserts are actually really nice; a pleasure to write in.
A very lovely video. I carry my passport size TN all the time in a pocket, but if I take my saddleback bag with me, I throw a standard TN in there as well
Thank you my friend. Ah, I'd love to get hold of a saddleback bag! Will you perhaps record a video on that and your EDC? Would be great to see :)
A very nice notebook, brother. I'd like to see more on your passport TN. P.S. "This was your life" - what an encouragement it is for me that there are people all over the world that are concerned about the lost souls
Thank you, brother! I'll show something on the TN's shortly, Lord willing. Your videos have certainly been an encouragement to me too with what you've shown. There's not enough of us working for Him in these last days of the church. God bless!
Very inspirational, thanks for sharing👍
You're very welcome! Delighted you enjoyed it! Many thanks
Hi Barry. This is a comprehensive collection! I really like the yellow Leuchstturm Bauhaus book with those black edged pages. Very striking
Thanks Nick. Can't get enough of these things! :) The Bauhaus is indeed a beauty, and certainly a statement-maker out and about. They made a red and blue one as well, but can be very expensive.
Barry~ good evening, like! stunning . take care-💫
Hello! Many thanks indeed for your comment - take care!
Video idea: showcase fountain pens ✒️ by writing lines from classic poetry, with the occasional “gospel grenade” like John 3:7, etc 😎
Excellent idea, thanks! And timely too, as I've been reading some lovely poems recently from the wonderful sister, Phillis Wheatley. So may indeed start with her. I don't have too many fountain pens at the moment, but certainly will showcase a number of other writing instruments that I thoroughly enjoy using :) Thanks again, brother!
I need to look into the Remarkable tablet you mentioned. I have been shopping for something that and I haven’t even heard of that one !
You definitely should consider it - it would be ideal for your voiceover work! As well as what I mentioned in the video, I use it most of the time for editing and recording scripts.
I use Rhodia notebooks of various sizes (which YOU introduced me to), and a clothbound edition from Slightly Foxed press out of London which I love
Ah that's great! :) Rhodia are superb notebooks; I've got a small bunch of other ones too, even the mini one which is cute :)
Barry, what a great video. I really enjoyed listening to you talk about your passion for stationery. Thank you so much. Great images too of the different notebooks you showed us. Nick
Ah, thank you, Nick! And thanks so much again for your channel and very encouraging words. Barry
