  • Chinaman Gulch (renamed to Yansing Gulch) is easily one of my top 5 favorite trails. It is a 7.1 mile trail that can take between 4-6 hours to complete. Modified 4x4s with lockers and winches are highly recommended. While the area doesn't get much snow, there are a few times during the winter that this because extremely difficult. When dry, it is still very challenging and should never be run alone.

    Neat vid, love that area. BV is our favorite CO town! But for some reference in takes the average dirt biker 20 - 30 min to do the loop. My preference it to run it each direction in less than an hour. Thanks for sharing the vid!

    Great video as always man keep up the great work. Just some Advice most the time when your get turtled like you did the best way to get unstuck is to have 1 or 2 people push up and pull down on your front bumper while you drive in reverse. It’s a lot easier to go backwards then forward most of the time.

      They we all just messing around and goofing off. We just threw on a kinetic rope and pulled it over the rock.

    Love your videos. Keep up the good work. Definitely helps me decide which trails are next on my list with my 4runner

    Our groups usually take 2-3 hours tops and that's when guys are in the group with pretty stock Rubicon jeeps on 33s holding up the pace if everyone is in built rigs it's a couple hours including a stop or two and doing the obstacles . The trail is basically just a rocky road with a few obstacles like the rock pile , whale tail , stair steps then the chutes everything between is basically bumpy road .

      I've never seen anyone do it in 2 hours, you would have to be flying through it. I've personally never been able to do it in less than 5, mostly due to traffic. A lot of people will sit on an obstacle for 30 minutes, trying dozens of times and creating huge backups on the trail. It took us an hour at Whale's Tail the last time because of 5 rigs in front of us because they just tried forever, not one person ever pulled line to keep things moving.

      @@TrailTraveler we've never ran it with much traffic it's pretty much just been us on the trail . I'm actually thinking if running it today but I have to break the rules of running a trail as far as going alone but I'm bored .

    less than a month and I'll be in that very area though I don't think I should try this trail in my stock JT Rubicon since I'd likely be solo! looks like a lot of fun though and it's good to see you are making good use of the camper + RTT!

    • @TrailTraveler
      @TrailTraveler  3 роки тому

      The JT is a bit long for this trail and you definitely don't want to do it solo

    Could this trail be done on 35's? I have the Extreme Recon package on my Rubicon with the factory 2" lift. Thanks. Eventually I want to get some armor under the rig and good rock sliders, but I'm all stock right now.

    • @TrailTraveler
      @TrailTraveler  2 місяці тому +1

      It can be done on 35's, you just have to pick good lines, not do the optional obstacles, and be prepared to hear a little scraping underneath.

    How are you storing fuel for 6-7hr trails? Or can you make it that long on a single tank?

    • @TrailTraveler
      @TrailTraveler  8 місяців тому

      "Normally" we can make it but we generally carry two 3g Rotopax for extra fuel.

      We actually just did that again a week ago, we did it in 8.5 hours. Keep in mind that we are slower with filming, drone shots, stopping for lunch, and Kateryna hunting for mushrooms

      @@TrailTraveler that’s fine. I stop often when I do trails, throw the Starlink up, and do video calls for work.
