This song was written to be sung by this man, so much better than Garfunkel, who chose to sing it too softly. Another artist who performs it well is Dan Vasc, a Brazilian artist who blows everything he performs "out of the park". He is a very powerful performer.
I disagree, this is do much stronger, communicates the sentiment and drama so much more effectively than the sofe, almost effeminate original recording. David's superior vocal pedigree helps!
I was a teen when this came out and I loved Simon and Garfunkel’s version, but I love this even more. It’s just a different time and the anger is justified and needed now.

This song hits it out of the ballpark! S&G was the warning, Disturbed tells us we weren't listening!!! Much better version than the folk version!!!!
