We have noted your feedback thank you. There are a few other pre-published lessons that we can't change, but we will keep this in mind for future edited episodes.
I usually like your videos, however I didn’t like this one. I think you put words into the Hadith while explaining it which should not have been used, like that the companions said “how could you think, how could you imagine that”, “it’s not their obligation to stop having bad thoughts” etc
No words were put into the hadith. Rather, the video explicitly mentions what was said in Arabic, states that the translation that follows is not what was said but what was meant, and then expresses the meaning of what was happening. In the first example, the exact words of the Companions were "subhanallah ya rasul allah", which means, "Glory be to God O Messenger of Allah". That is an indirect way of saying exactly what was mentioned in the video, i.e., that how could you think that we would have bad thoughts about you? In the science of balagha, this way of speaking is called kinaya. It's like when you say to someone "It's hot," and what you really mean is "please turn on the fan". The intended meaning is the latter, not what was really said. The same thing with the second example that you mentioned. The goal of studying hadiths is to understand what was really meant by the words that were said, and every hadith has pages and pages of classical scholarly commentary to explain the meaning, and everything that's said in this video is taken from classical scholarly commentaries on hadith literature.
What I'm hearing is that mankind has a will. Like good deeds, good actions And the other bad deeds, evil thoughts and intentions. And that we humans need to recognise these two facets of our hearts and minds. Being mindful of what we do and say. It's comforting to know and act accordingly. Good podcast, thank you.
No it was not the indirect way of saying what you said, you said that the Sahaba said “how could you think that…” or “how could you imagine that…” (astaghfirullah) etc; instead it meant that the Sahaba said that “O Holy Prophet! how could we even think that about You….”; do you understand the difference? The former words are putting the blame and the onus of responsbility on the Holy Prophet (maaz Allah) while the latter words are putting the onus of responsbility on the Sahaba. Similarly nowhere in the Hadith it’s mentioned that the Holy Prophet said it’s not their obligation to have bad thoughts. “Husn al than” is a very important Islamic teaching. In the Hadith it was acknowledged that being humans sometimes wrong ideas can come to mind especially when planted by satan; it did not mean that they are absolved of the responsibility of thinking good of other Muslims let alone the Holy Prophet صلی الله عليه وآله وسلم

The background was a bit difficult to focus over.
May Allah help you
Please stop the background humming it’s a distraction 😊
May be the person who edited may have not listened to the lecture.
He or she would have realized.

Agreed. Fantastic content, the background music is unnecessary and distracting.
