Had to click! Superbly filmed! The Discovery Sport by the bright yellow of the rapeseed. Benchmark vehicle. Perfect lifestyle vehicle. Now hybrid. ( Matt-ism... " gubbins"😄)
Looks great. I've got a 2020 Range Rover but finding it quite big plus I'm not driving as much as I thought I would be, so very interested in this hybrid.
You are in 2wd most the time for day to day driving, it seamlessly flicks between rwd and fwd (which can catch the driver out). You are in 4wd for sport mode and certain terrain modes.
I run mine in EV 90% of the time, it's when the battery has run out without me noticing that it catches me out. Pulling out of a junction with 200hp on the front axle is v different to pulling out with 100hp on the rear. In straight lines and on gentle bends you'll never notice it changing in hybrid mode.
If you want to take the car off-road using 4-wheel drive, it seems that you would have to drive on front-wheel drive Save until you get to the off-road area and then switch to Hybrid to have all 4 wheels driving the car. How does this work in practice? When you run out of battery and have only 2-wheel drive will you get stuck on the mountain /moor/bog?
In the past few months you have driven both the discovery sport p300e and the volvo xc60 recharge. Can you describe any differences? If you can tell us which one is best to drive on the road? thanks
That is a difficult one to answer because both feel great, I think it would ultimately come down to personal choice and which one you prefer the look of. I think I would probably go for the Volvo only for the fact that I love the way it looks. Matt.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, its to never trust a brit doing a review about a Land Rover or a Jaguar. You guys will say anything to make it sound like it’s a dream vehicle. “Seven hour charging time, but that’s not bad” It’s this masterful skill of apologizing without apologizing. Every British reviewer loves this vehicle and says hardly anything negative about it. You got a watch German or American refuse to get an actual opinion
6 hours on household socket, 2 hours on home charging point @7kw. The EV is a dream to drive in the city. But you might come up with other issues... It's a LR afterall...
I’m in China. I need professional info about the preference of Disco Sport PHEV over Gas ⛽️ version. Which one is better? Is the PHEV significantly better than the gas version? Or no better? Thanks 🙏
Lucky enough to have ordered one of these a few months ago. Glad to hear everyone who has driven it seems to have liked it so roll on September.
With the 20inch wheels, electric range is 18-22 miles in cold weather, 30-32 in warm weather.
And do you know by any chance mpg in a hybrid mode? Thanks
Any review on the reliability of the 2025 Discovery Sport

MPG?
Hi so when selecting a specific fuel ev or petrol you are either in fwd or rwd.the combined fuel selection is the one that would allow 4x4 to work.

@@matansell2563 I have one coming in 2 weeks so will find out

What happens when the battery run out, do you then have no 4WD?!? That would not be helpful when in an off-roading scenario…
@@tombeavis3671 when in petrol you can use the car in 4x4 mode

Matt.
Is it any good off road with drive set up ?
YES, this car is extremly good off road too. Fantastic car. Mine is 2022 model. 2 years old. NO problems with it at all. 20.000 km.
ordered one in May expecting delivery in September. Now been told I could be waiting another 12 months for it!!
Oh no! I'm about to order one, was hoping ready for March. They said 6-9 month wait but I didn't want to believe them.
@@katytaylor681 bout to order 1 as well, they said 6 to9 months.
Charging has DC 50kw on this model, so can charge to 80% in as little as 30mins

“Is it still a proper Land Rover?” We still don’t know because you never drove it off road - CLICKBAIT alert. 👎

I think it does come down to personal choice and your lifestyle, both cars are great but if you don't do many miles I would go for the PHEV.
