@@beanq7488 how long did it take you to complete it? Besides expo 25, what courses can you take for the admissions courses? Also, did you take all 3 at the same time?
@@BrittneyPatrick it took about 4 years to complete my two years I had left of school! Sometimes I took 3 and sometimes I took 1 at a time due to my schedule. This was many years ago though so I’m not sure if it’s changed at all. I was a psych major so I took an introductory psych class along with personality theory and childhood development!
I’m starting a magnet program as a high school freshman next year, and this was so helpful for me. I feel so much more prepared and excited for it now. Thank you so much
I relate so much to the phone call point! I still really dislike making phone calls because I feel like I make such a better impression in person rather than on the phone, but I am starting to feel better about them and rely less on notes or a "script" in my head.
My college anxiety ended up in panic attacks right before graduation. I completely lost it and almost didnt make it to my last finals and graduation. PRIORITIZE MENTAL HEALTH from the get-go! Dont feel bad about taking xanax or getting therapy to get through college ❤️
I'm on the most uncivilized schedule in college. I sleep in shifts, go to bed around 10 p.m. get up a few hours later to do all my work, I find I'm most focused during twilight and dawn. Try to make most of my classes in the morning and sleep all afternoon. Weird, but it works for me.
Going to harvard is my ultimate goal! I’m from Germany and now taking the sat, toefl, act. Videos like this even motivate me more to pursue my dream! Thank u :)
I agree with everything that you said. The number 1 most important thing I would like to say is that if you are a perfectionist, work as hard as you possibly can to get rid of that or you will never be happy...ever. It will ruin your life, seriously. It takes a long time but just work on it.
During summer I watched this video and make it as a guide and now I'm in college done with the first semester watching this video again is really relatable.
Wow sienna your video made my day. It really helps finding people who have a similar view on life when you‘re struggling in life currently❤️ Greetings from Germany👋🏼
Wowww Sienna that felt so so so authentic and real, right from the heart♥. I always wanted someone like a sister to be my guiding light and tell me about the lessons they learned and apply them to my life, to leverage my experience. Thank you soooooo much.💕😘💗 Love from India, Mumbai. 😊 I hope you're doing well and will pray that you have an awesome Harvard journey. 😇
I moved from France to Canada for college and I couldn't relate more to what you're saying. Even though I'm not in Harvard, I'm still in a way more competitive college than I used to in France, and it's been quite hard to adjust. I think college is also about learning to be conscious and lucid about your abilities and who you are as a person. It's such an enriching experience, even if sometimes you feel weak or out of place... At the end of the year, just like you did in this video, we realise how much we've grown and I think it's amazing and definitely one of the most rewarding things about going to college. Thank you for this video, it was much needed
I just wanna come on here and say that this was a very very good video and I feel a lot better now. I’m going into my freshman year at the University if Washington and I’ve had a lot of anxiety about it. Thank you for this!
Hi Sienna! First time seeing your channel. As a mature woman (I have kids your age) and an area director at my job, the time management and planning skills are paramount! I use to mentor and teach middle school, high school, and collegiate girls on how to plan and manage their time. I also homeschooled all of my kids and this skill was extremely helpful. It literally is a life skill for all! I am so please seeing young people thriving in their life's pursuit. You are an amazing young lady and I can't wait to see you as you grow on your lifes journey!! What an inspiration you are to other young ladies. Praying you have a successful year at Harvard. Great video! Blessings 🙂
Thank you so much! I was also home schooled, and I think that's truly what helped me develop time management skills and learn to keep myself accountable. Thank you for your kind words -- knowing that I inspire other people is what motivates me more than anything
Wow. This video is an eye opener and fights back against stereotypes that in Harvard everyone is perfect. Great Video! You seem like a great person to be around. I wish you the best of luck in the rest of your time there, keep up the good work!
I just finished my first year of college too, and I cannot emphasize enough about how beneficial it is to learn your way of studying not just studying for hours!!! so glad you mentioned this
i loved your thoughts on burdening your friends. i’ve thought that exact thing but always thought i was selfish for it, so i’m glad there’s a commonality in that :)
I really ca relate to the things you named. Yesterday I graduated from a boarding school for high gifted students, where there is high pressure to perform, but you also had the chance to meet great people and to grow personally and academically. Your tips are really important and right. Get things done. Seize the opportunities. but most important: have fun. And I want to thank you for your words on the subject of psychologists: Talking to someone who can help you does not mean you are "sick" or loser. A good conversation can help you on so many levels. I would like to study psychology myself and therefore I find it so great that you invalidate the stereotypes against therapies. Lots of Greetings from Germany!
ok, I'm not in high school (yet) or in college but I'll follow some of these tips for 8th grade. :) also you are *SO* smart, and I want to know how you keep information in your head. Like, all of my friends have been in the school im in right now for over 10 years, so they are used to the method of learning and studying in that school. However, this was my first year, and I basically freaked out and studied a lot, but I couldn't keep it in my head the first time as my friends did. And I don't really know how to make perfect notes. (and bc I'm not smart) I really want to see how you studied and took notes. I need to be able to take really good and useful notes bc I can't keep up with the rest of the class while the tr is talking and bc I will have a lot going on.
Hey Sienna, I am so thankful for your videos. They are so motivating and make me want to do the best I can to get as passionate about school and everything I do as you. Thank you so much
Thank you for this helpful information! Many college students (including me) don’t like to admit that college life is hard and pretend that everything is fine. And on a side note you look like the actress that plays Reese Witherspoon’s daughter on big little lies 😍
Watching your videos for first time during quarantine. You are wise beyond your years! This video is my favorite! I'm in my mid 40's; a majority of the advice you shared can applied for those of us not in college as well. Keep up the great work!
You are literally so inspirational I don’t even know you personally yet find you as such a good friend giving me advice, thank you so much for this video

I’ve gotten sucked down the Harvard rabbit hole and now I want to attend. I’m not even the smartest student in my class, AND I’m in 5th grade, we’re over here learning square roots while they’re over there learning calculus.
i love this! i matured sooooo much my freshman year it was crazy, these tips are so important i hope every highschooler going into college sees this video
Sienna - Great Vlog!!!! This video was such great advice for not only passing on to my kid who will be starting college this year as a freshman down in NC but also great advice for me (mom) as a person in the stressful, working world LOL. Love the advice about getting away from the "norm" and getting lost for the day somewhere....just for an hour or so. Everyone needs that. Keep up the great job!!!! Much success to you my dear at Harvard.
When I went to University, I literally wrote up and created a timetable where I allocated specific time slots for specific assignments and homework per week. I did this immediately after I received the assessment schedules for every subject. I broke it down hour by hour, day by day and week by week and really strategised what plan would work best for me to prioritising workloads and getting assignments and tasks done by the due date. Prioritise to start working on the assignments early in each semester where you know the most work and effort will be needed (and/or based on the due date for assignments) so that you know that you are more on top of things by midway to late in the semester and you’re stressing less (or barely any) later in the semester. Also see if you could schedule a massive time gap between classes once per week (if you do not live on campus) so that you have a designated large time block where you can really use it to focus on some of the big assessments (or do work on several smaller assessments of homework).
Harvard Grad student at SEAS. Everyone is super chill and down to earth. I highly suggest if you have something to offer, apply, and you might just get in!
I LOVE your videos and started watching about when you started your channel. They have helped me so much, and I am attending Harvard this fall!! I would love to see a dorm essentials video from you because I am BEYOND lost with what to buy at home, what to buy there, and what to send. Thank for making great, relatable content!!!
"You have to deal with rejection very early on" -- This is a gem of wisdom! How is your Korean going, by the way? And YES! Good time management (includes eliminating/reducing distractions) is a must. All of the tips you gave in this video are super helpful for everyone in all walks of life. I have a new student who is a perfectionist -- I have to work extra hard to help him realize that he's actually a great, talented kid. I know what that feels like, and also know the damage that avoiding failure can do. I hope you keep growing over the next three years just as you have done this first year. Keep it up! :-) Your talk is encouraging to see. ^^
Healing Melodies thank you so much!! I still have a lot of learning and growing to do but I think it’s so important to reflect on how far you have come and to give yourself some breathing room to make mistakes! i struggle with my perfectionism in all aspects of my life but it’s something i just have to get better at dealing with! and my korean is going so so well and now that i’m in seoul actually i’m having so much fun reading all the signs and practicing!
@@SiennaSanter You're in Seoul?!?! I'm so happy for you! Be sure to cherish this time like crazy! :) Are you with a group of students? I hope you get to experience a lot of great stuff here! I live in a city outside of Seoul with my wife. If you have the time, definitely check out 종묘 and 덕수궁, and if you like museums, the 국립중앙박물관 just outside of 이촌역 on line 4 is a must -- They have tons of artifacts in there (이촌역 is close to Yongsan and Seoul Station). OH! And if you can, go to Suwon and check out 화성행궁. My wife is Korean but had never seen 화성행궁 before I showed it to her. She was so surprised that such a site existed in Korea. It's truly something else! You can take a Korail train from Yongsan, take the subway (I don't recommend the subway to Suwon -too packed and takes too long imo), or take a bus from 사당역, 강남역, or 잠실역. I hope you have a blast during your time here! Woot :)
Oh, and I heard there's a Stranger Things escape room set up in or around Hongdae until July 7th. Some of the actors were/are here to celebrate the launch of the new season. I'd like to go but my wife hates anything remotely scary so I'm passing on it. It's closing after the 7th, though, so if you like the show, you might want to check it out! :)

Pls post more of these harvard videos these rlly inspire me and make me wanna go to harvard even more ilysm and keep up with the good work :)
i love how you are so real and transparent! keep it going
Thank u :)
Thank you for making college seem so much better. I love how you are logical!
She reminds me of Caroline from TVD!!
Wow sienna your video made my day. It really helps finding people who have a similar view on life when you‘re struggling in life currently❤️
Greetings from
Germany👋🏼
“I’m so excited for my sophomore year!” * nervous laughter
lolol love it- hope you’re doing great bestie!
This is what wisdom looks like, thank you Sienna.
Wowww Sienna that felt so so so authentic and real, right from the heart♥.
I always wanted someone like a sister to be my guiding light and tell me about the lessons they learned and apply them to my life, to leverage my experience.
Thank you soooooo much.💕😘💗
Love from India, Mumbai. 😊
I hope you're doing well and will pray that you have an awesome Harvard journey. 😇
Aw I was keeping an eye out for this! Thanks for all the youtube tips Sienna, keep rocking it 😊
I relate to this a lot with my first year at Vanderbilt! Blessings to you girl- Hope you have a great next semester.
Watching this video over and over again makes me feel like I'm being productive...
I love it :D
When you get back to Harvard can you make a "How I Study" / "How I Take Notes" video? :)
this is a very helpful video
you’re so cute I can’t wait to watch you grow and live your life, feels like I just watched you put together your dorm room
Your tips are actually great for life in general. Finding what time you work best is a game changer; thanks for the advice.
I love her videos so much, it makes me think about my future a lot, especially since i do want to get into Harvard
You are actually so helpful! Other people would say they don’t know how they got in but you actually give helpful tips, I appreciate it
I just finished my first year of college too, and I cannot emphasize enough about how beneficial it is to learn your way of studying not just studying for hours!!! so glad you mentioned this
Holly Foxhall YES it’s so huge!! such a huge time saver i wish i could help ppl find their way of studying
You're an inspiration. Hope you are enjoying summer!
i loved your thoughts on burdening your friends. i’ve thought that exact thing but always thought i was selfish for it, so i’m glad there’s a commonality in that :)
Was the psychiatrist private or does Harvard provide such services to its students?
Hey Sienna, I am so thankful for your videos. They are so motivating and make me want to do the best I can to get as passionate about school and everything I do as you.
Thank you so much
Thank you for this helpful information! Many college students (including me) don’t like to admit that college life is hard and pretend that everything is fine. And on a side note you look like the actress that plays Reese Witherspoon’s daughter on big little lies 😍
This was so inspirational n amazing as it is literally applicable to everyone ♥️ thank you so much Sienna
Watching your videos for first time during quarantine. You are wise beyond your years! This video is my favorite! I'm in my mid 40's; a majority of the advice you shared can applied for those of us not in college as well. Keep up the great work!
You are literally so inspirational
I don’t even know you personally yet find you as such a good friend giving me advice, thank you so much for this video
I'm halfway through my 2nd year of uni right now and i WISHED i'd had this video 2 years ago. Definitely going to apply it when second semester starts in a week.
Also, hello from New Zealand!!!
Misfit Turtle aww i’m so glad!! if an incoming 3rd year uni student can learn something from lil first year me i guess i’m doing something right!! haha
10:14 I'm an over-sharer, and this was an extremely relatable yet profound comment you made that is all too true!
Also see if you could schedule a massive time gap between classes once per week (if you do not live on campus) so that you have a designated large time block where you can really use it to focus on some of the big assessments (or do work on several smaller assessments of homework).
it would be cool if you could make a video about time management, productivity and how to study in college
Sienna came into my work in Harvard square this past spring & she was so sweet! my boyfriend is a harvard grad now and it was amazing to see all they offered him over the years... love down to earth youtubers like sienna. keep it up girl! 💖
Courtney Rice awww HIIII i remember you from cabot’s candys!! i loved our talk you were so sweet thanks so much for the support girl ♥️ will come back in and get some much needed candy first thing next semester xx
you’re such a sweet soul! i stopped working there because i’m into clinicals for dental school now, but definitely go visit those wonderful girls & get some candy to help with college stress 💖💖 good luck in sophomore year!
I'm going to be a freshman at Harvard this fall and this video really helped me so much. I really appreciate all the advice you gave. I've been so nervous about freshman year and not being ready and this video just helped to ease all my nerves. Hope to maybe see you on campus!
Payton Kim awwww YAY i’m so glad and i’m so happy for you!! i was so so nervous too but doing a lot of these things helped me. also make upperclassmen friends!! they give you so much perspective and can really be your mentors as well as your friends. i’m happy to be that for you and you can always come to me with any questions or if you need anything :) it’s so important !!
