It's great that Google entered IoT game but this presentation was honestly quite poor. Quick registration with QR code may look cool but it did not say how developers would take advantage of it. As a device maker I want to make sure that I can ship a device that someone without knowledge or app can EASILY register to my service running on Google cloud. You show the code for registration but you don't mention how the keys would need to be generated or stored on the device which is actually more basic information. Also, talking about scaling begs for explanation on how one can control not just devices but users too...you mentioned that role can be applied to devices but individual users can own many devices and they will different level of authorizations from admins of the IoT network. Finally, Google presentation using a Mac...seriously...what kind of message does it send about the hardware Google builds?
