Great Cape wrath trail series of video s. I keep coming back to watch this series. You done well with the river crossing, twice. Really enjoyed watching these videos. Weldone. Atb Steve 👍
18:05 I must have fell on my arse half dozen times right at that bit lol I owe you a debt of gratitude because i was only aware of the path after the bealach that follows the wall round because of your video.
Another 2 days watched and still enjoying. That wee hut was definitely the right call mate. Love that you cross rivers twice for our viewing pleasure. Haha. I'm a big fan of the KIntail Lodge Hotel, had many a good night in there after Munrobagging trips.
Second time watching your cwt trek. By far the most informative thing I can find on the cwt. reading guide books and other people’s blogs is great but the way you’ve broken down each section of your walk is spot on mate 👌 I’m currently planning my own attempt at the cwt once all this craziness is over and your videos have been a massive help so thanks man. Hope your keeping well in these challenging times and I’m looking forward to any future content you put out. All the best 👍🏻
Thanks! Really glad you found the series helpful! 🙂🐾👍 Aye, let's see what happens wae the restrictions and Lockdoons and such. I fear this year may be a washoot too though! 😬
After a minute of watching the first episode I hit the subscribe button. This is going to be good, I knew. Day 5 now, and I really enjoy it. Love the way you care for your dog. Two best friends. The trail is beautiful, but the weather conditions make it looks like a river sometimes. Hope to see some sunny days in the next episodes.
The more I watch the more I’m hooked, this episode was breathtaking scenery, I’m fascinated with Scotland and it’s options with walks available, I’m glad you didn’t buckle in the pub, and I spotted your bottle of pee, I think, split second clip, 👍👍
Aye, Scotland really has a lot to offer on that front! ⛰️🏞️ Nah, there is a time for boozin' and a time for hiking. Defo getting full o' it on the CWT would have really messed it up time wise for me and I only had so many days off. 😱 🙂🐾👍
Hi Hounds, that bealach sounded really rough with the wind. I hunkered down behind a rock there after climbing The Saddle and then going onto Sgurr na Sgine. There is a little cafe at the Shiel Bridge which is the service station and shop. Stayed a couple of times at the Kintail Lodge Hotel, which is good like you say. BTW do now remember the little stalkers hit you stayed in. Back yesterday from Applecross after 3 x days of walking, could not handle anything more than 4 days of walking though.
For sure, I was glad to get over it and then down the other side! Yeah, I missed the petrol station and wee shop. I didn't look the map until afterwards. Is your knee playing up or was the weather bad. It's really tough going for consecutive days in terrible weather, isn't it!
Knee's ok now. I'm just an old fart. The Wee Campsite in Lochcarron was closed, so I slept in the car for 3 nights, which is not bad 'cos I've got an estate. Your right about eating when your tired, if I am dog-tired eating is the last thing on my mind. Looking forward to day 6, I think I know the route which I have walked over in my Munro/Corbett bagging days.
Am loving these. I'm doing a double of the pennine way in a few weeks which is all the way to Scotland turn round and all the way back to edale. These videos are inspiring as hell.
Hi hounds, my brother and I had to call it a day at kinloch-hourn. Torrential rain so a no go for the next day. Wet feet every day but no blisters , we were using a lubricant called gurney goo thumbs up from me. Great videos by the way.
Another guid yin 👍That wee stalkers hut looked cosy.Guid campsite Morvich like. Spent aboot an hour in the shower after the Forcan ridge, can in hand anaw 😄🍺 We made the walk tae the hotel each night tae 🍻 Good scran & friendly staff.
As another backpacker who goes with border collies I am really interested to know what that rain coat is that you use for Moss...probably going to need something for my two come May when I am heading up to do the WHW
Hello there, it's a Cosipet thing from Amazon. I just cut the legs off it as they were too long for Moss. It has worked out pretty well actually! As the material is kinda laminated it doesn't fray. This is it here: amzn.to/2NlaaJW 🐾👍
Aye, for sure! That was the only crossable bit I could find as well! Almost a no go as when it gets deeper than baw deep, torso deep, the water forces at that speed get too much to remain upright!
Indeed I do! It's a pain in the rear doing stuff like that twice but generally I have to do it (especially with river crossings) anyway as I have to carry my rucksack over first, dump it and then go back to get Moss. 🙂🐾👍
Love this series, watched it for the first time a couple years ago and now I'm re-watching. Around the same time I've started munro bagging again
Binge watching now.... better than Netflix ....
Nice one! Glad you are enjoying the hike!

Crikey, that river crossing with Moss on your back… She’s a gem, my border collie would freak out and struggle 😬
Aye, she's a wee trooper! 🙂🐾👍
Algorithm popped you up,so glad it did,now slowly getting through all your vids, excellent content 👍
You Sir, are of the finest quality dog dad.

Yeah, it was hard to stop early in the trip but the next day I knew it was the right decision for sure! 🤞

Thanks Duncan! 🐾👍
Aye, the rain can be a problem with river crossings, cant it!
Are you guys thinking of giving it another go in the future? Perhaps picking up from where you left off?
@@HoundsofHowgate yes , we will be doing it in early April as a day walk to Morvich. And then get a full weeks walk later in the month.
@@duncanfarquhar9947 nice one!

A can in hand even in the shower! Haha, class! 👍👍👍
My sentiments the same as binge
Sleep well Moss hearing her in the backround

Jeez. That 2nd crossing was a bit hairy. Just as well Moss is a placid wee thing.

you need to do the river crossing twice first bring the camera then your dog :)
Indeed I do!
