The Bears should be among the frontrunners with CBS Sports reporting the best fits for Williams are The Bears, Eagles, Titans, Giants, and Chargers.
At 27 years old and ascending every year, he would be perfect to match up a vet with a rookie for his rookie deal.

Hey Adam! This is more of a personal comment than a Bears comment.
I'm responding to you mentioning that you have several personal goals. I want to strongly encourage you inacomplishing all of them but to also set ONE that is measurable over the short term. This will keep you motivated as you reach bench marks. I say this as a cancer survivor.
I began chemotherapy treatment for Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in January of 2020, I completed the treatment in June of the same year, was in lockdown due to Covid, and was unable to walk without the help of a cane. I became a whale as I balooned up to 220 pounds!
I was able to begin exercising in 2021 and have since regained all lost muscle mass as a result of taking a slow approach. Now my weight is down to 175. By the way, I am 100% cancer free! So, I share this to encourage you not to put too much pressure on yourself and shoot for the slow and steady approach. You will feel great during this process.

I would only want this on a deal that seriously protects the Bears. I still have major reservations about his ability to stay healthy. We don't need another OLineman that can't stay on the field. 🐻⬇️
I'd spend any amount necessary to get Connor. Like you, Adam, I have been pushing for him for a long time. Having a top Center would make that O line better instantly.

Bears being in on Connor Williams says alot. If he passes the medicals, i doubt they let another team outbid them. Connor would help Caleb so much man. People don't get what a Vet Center does for a Young QB. Promise Hurts and Philly ain't as good w/o Kelce. Which, Did he Retire? Did Philly fill that role? If not, Connor pry ends up in Philly 😢.

They should try to get both lines better. They have 21 mil and can move money around like teams always do. They need a pass rusher for sure and if they have a chance to get a top 10 o lineman at any position other than right tackle they should go for it

He's above average and for some reason there's always haters for every player.
He's not "Elite" but he's definitely an NFL snapper.
I would rather they sign him for 4 million base and an 8 million signing bonus over the 4 years. That way he only counts for 6 mil this year against the cap, but he still gets 12 mil this year in his injury year.
Might be exactly what they do... Hopefully Poles is on this one like he has been all offseason

I say you turn him loose either way. You won't see that week 1, but I absolutely am in the mindset that you let him fly. That's why Stroud succeeded. Stroud's was let loose. His poor passer rating was among the worst, his ADJ% suffered, but for a rookie that got supported with that deep ball throwing it only built his confidence.
I personally think his agent is trying to upsell the multiple team thing for a bigger contract. I still have concerns on his health, they were talking possible retirement.
You nailed it with the agent move. It's late in the game and they're only a handful of teams that can make this move.

As much as I’d LOVE US to sign him I’m not gonna hold my breath because the MAIN holdup with this is what we plan on doing with Nate Davis. There’s just too much money for us to eat until next season where he only costs us 2 mil so unfortunately I just don’t see it happening.
Every team has a bad contract now and then. If we eat $10MM this year by Davis, I still accept it and love having Williams
Cut Davis is my vote. Bates, Jenkins are better options. Plus we have Amegadjie in case we need him at LT, swing T, or LG. Williams could play C or LG. I bet Shelton could play G too. I like Benedet as well over Borom.

Simple math my man plus you KNOW Poles wants flexibility cap wise for the season! Expect an edge to be signed like Ngakoue before Williams since he’ll be WAY cheaper!

Cap Wise we can all renegotiate guys like Edmunds, Vets who signed last year, and create a few Million. As well as cutting Homer, tho i would guess Homer is cut the last day and put and the Practice Squad if he is helping teach teammates the new system. 🤷🏻 Sweat you could pry create 8mil alone handing him bonus $$$ for Cap space. So they can create enough space for Connor, and another big trade if they need to on DL.

@@FrankMarshall-d3i he started @ center for the Dophins during the last 2 seasons. yes, his knee injury was bad, but he is recovering faster than expected & might be ready to play by week 1 of the regular season. If Poles can only sign one more player during this off-season, then that player should definitely be Connor Williams.

Adam, How did Connor Williams, who was predicted to miss at least half the year, suddenly end up healthy? Somebody has been playing with the facts. Is he some kind of miracle healer? Or was it misinformation?
There hasn't been any information other than speculation from first injured. His camp has been quiet.
Now, it sounds like he's not fully healed yet, and he will be ready week 1... Which means really he wouldn't play week 1
I want this player only because there are too many question marks on our line. Take a "What if" stance on our line, just one guy goes down, now what? The Defense can take a few hits NOT the offense.

Adam, Bears haven't even been playing with the salary cap the way teams with a lack of cap do. They are in position to be a player in the Connor Williams sweepstakes and still have all the methods of playing with the cap in reserve.
Ryan Poles has been building up to this. There's going to be a big name we bring in, or a major extension but those are limited and I'm not seeing it. It's gotta happen
